Theres something that a lot of people don't get about ASCN, and that's that we are rather invested into our little adventure because of the friendships afforded and forged during the process of making it. I suspect while we were forming these bonds building outposts BoB was doing the same while burning things. Thats why this is such an interesting and potentially dramatic (in the fun way) war, because you have the two tightest organizations in EVE trying to pull at each others stitches. I don't Hate BoB for attacking us (Like I said you are at least honost and that is all we ask), indeed I understand BoB's motivations. The real old Gaurd in Bob seems to me the type that loves to do great things, and accepts difficult challenges. As this effort proves over time BoB has come to see ASCN as such an entrenched entity that it would require a GREAT effort to remove them. I'm proud to warrant such attention, and I look forward to seeing the absolutely Epic conflict that will unfold in this little "Operation Unstoppable force vs Unmoveable object". Another way to think about it is that your average Alliance member makes about a million isk an hour, using that as a barometer ASCN is the product of (looking at all of the Alliances capitol assets, outposts etc) of a little more then a million man hours of labor. Thats plenty of time to make fast freindships and get attached to the alliance. So Salud, and let the unstoppable force come to the unmoveable object. We are waiting.

BoB announced it was going to war. It did not list any objectives. It did not say ACSN would be destroyed... We have made little known. ACSN fights back. We haven't changed our attitudes since beta... pretending otherwise is self deception. Can any of you remember that someone wanted freighters to drop loot cans if destroyed? That was to be implemented, and any protest given against the 'impact' of such a thing was 'ignored'. What it took, was a show and the massive use of ASCN pilots on the test server to show that freighters would be a 200 million isk 'I-Win-Button' for lagging out gatecamps completly. 1250 shuttles in a freighter, blow freighter up, node dies. 4-5 min lag-spikes in entire cluster The authorisation for so called 'lag' stuff that GM's have said straight out not to be an exploit where given the go ahead to use against potential AAA attackers to do 3 things. 1. Keep ASCN space 'safe' 2. Ruin AAA ships so ASCN can collect loot. 3. Give more data / get more data to present CCP so they can fix what is broke. I don't understand why people are so upset about the potential BOB/ASCN conflict. It is a well known fact that ASCN doctrine is to outblob enemies 3-1, or above. RA showed ASCN in the east that 40-50 people defending a system are a pain to defeat if attacking with 600 people due to lag. It simply can't be done against an enemy that can set up good cough* lag-stars * cough* deathstar POS's. ASCN have also learned , that if you have 500 people in a system, it is hell for anyone attacking that system. HOWEVER, ASCN space a HUGE. When a 150 man BOB gang starts moveing and noone knows where tehy are stopping to shoot stuff, it will be harder for the ASCN gangs to put up the massive defences. However.. I do believe that when 30 - 40 carriers are lost, 20 dreads go pop and 1000 BSs have burned, that they will look upon the map and see that the Shire will be burning, but still be the Shire. That the Hobbits and Bobbits have figured out that it is a lot more fun to fight over gates and systems than blowing up towers and getting killed by the lag-trolls. I also believe, that when this conflict, should it come, gets about... 30 days old, the ASCN losses will be in the magnitude of 2/1. BOB however, unless they can 'destroy' ASCN/AXE from within, won't take feythabolis or Impass.

Perception can win or lose wars before they even beguin! BoB are very good at creating perception - BoB mearly needs to say they are a tidal wave wasing over ASCN and there is no shortage of people ready to beleive it. But I insted beleive in Reality - Any such tidal wave is going to smash over a rock, then slowly wash away from when it came. The reality is that every game breaking bug that has happened upto this date has always went against ASCN. - The Pos bug's made ASCN pos's unanchor for no reason, but at the same time made hostile POS's go into Godmode at the same time! This is just one example of many bugs in the past, but as of yet, there is not a single bug that has went into ASCN's favor. But given the sheer numbers of POS's that ASCN has, and the fact that even 30vs30 battles can crash nodes, the reality is that this is a war that BoB cannot win in the long term, and one that seems crazy until CCP get some new yarrdware, or put every system in the south on its own node. --- Slot 10 Akemons Modified 'Noble'Zet 5000 implant +8% Armour FREE
