This is the only logical thing that can happen! Its the only way not to screw the holders of the prints that wasted billions on them, and they will get x3-4 the ammount they invested (fair enough)
If CCP does anything else then.... we are all doomed and i mean that with the worst possible way
EVE market WILL die!
You mean they INVESTED in this BPO. Not all investments pan out. Tough cookies if they don't get thier money back.
Can I buy stock in your company for a guarenteed pay off of x3-4 of my investment. ------------------------------------------------- I got nothing |

CCP SELLS OUT... TECH 2 BPO'S, THAT IS
reported by onkier | 2006.11.03 12:47:37
Yes, you read the that right, CCP has sold out the Tech2 BPOS. Due to an overwhelmin community response, over 650 people will be acquiring this year's Trillionaire status at the Top of the World. Online BPO research has been disabled and no BPOs will be sold at the market.
If you missed your chance to get this years's BPOs, start making plans for bigger and better BPOs in 2007.

Originally by: Silver Lady It seems there is one guy with 5 SBAII bpos, another guy owns 3, theres a few other guys with 2 bpos each, and god knows how many more i dont know about.
I thought ccp wanted 20 of each t2 bpo, there could be loads of SBAII/CEII bpos...
Being selfish, I hope this is the case. I am guessing the devs want prices of tech 2 expanders low and this is the way to do it. Just look at Miner 2 and remember all the fuss about those. Ofcourse, now people who have invested millions in local hull expanders will be screwed but same happened with the meta miners and still we survived.
EDIT: Personally I will wait until the storm has settled before planning any investments. Tech 2 expanders could turn in to a lucrative market, but with likely 100+ BPO's out there the days of expensive expanders could also be all over. ---------------- Mr. Science & Trade Institute |

The same could be said for those who dont invest and get nothing? You chose not to invest in one of these bpos and lost out, tough luck.

Why is that? I've seen SBA1 bpos for sale all over the place the past few months, they were very obtainable to all.

Point is, our time is our investment... we're given false hope we are actually doing somthing to gain a chance at getting a t2 bpo.. in the end, they just hand them out as upgradee. bull****.

They must have done thous Investments "knowing" or beleaving the t2 verson would come out some day. In other words, this argument is cinda useless.
Me, myself, i dont do R&D, i dont own any t2 BPO's, nor do i own any CE, or SBA bpo's..
I just think its unfair, on the behaf of ppl who do! I also think its wrong to do it this way, caus it's not how players are lead to beleave the t2 "lottery" is supose to be.

that just seems a bit lazy on ccps part. the people who got the expanded cargo bpo got luck. ccp should let others get lucky and try to get the t2 version.

SBA1/CE1 bpo owners should have been given 300 run copies, not bpos, some people have like 5 bpos, ccp basically gave them 500 billion isk.
300 run copies would be enough so they could make 300 units, sell at 30m each, 9 bill profit which is about what the bpos were worth.

In real life companies rise and fall. Markets are evolution. Part of evolution is change. Change is essential for survival of the system.
Edit: Bringing this principle to the t2 industry in eve would be very healthy indeed. Upgrading the expcargo t1 to expcargo t2 is counterproductive.
RL capitalism works because there is competition, not "gods will"! A rich goes bankrupt cause of other that did a much better job
In our case, the gap poor/rich and the ability to counter each other was an option Its not anymore, thats the problem
evolution in RL markets come due to demand and supply, not the case in eve tho here we have CCP(Creator of the game, aka God of eve) interfere with the mappets( us )

Wait some time and see how prices for T2 expanders might go. I am pretty sure that prices will drop far below the 30 mill that local hulls cost now.

Why, please answer this CCP, wasnt the Expanded Cargohold II seeded like other BPOs, but given to the richest players of EVE who already got some of the most lucrative BPOs earlier?
Anyone care to wager on whether we will hear any explanation about this from CCP?
Did we hear an explanation about the trillions of ISK pilfered through the exploit of Angel complexes and what was done - if anything - to attempt to restore game balance?
Have we heard any explanation of why the release of Kali is such a big secret and they won't commit to a release date?
Have we ever had any specific explanation of future development and where the game is going other than a few obscure and generalized devblogs?
Are we ever treated by CCP in any way other than children who shouldn't worry their little heads about anything CCP may have done?
I myself have had an issue that is still awaiting resolution with CCP since JULY and I cannot even get an email returned.
Funny how consistently we see in the real world that success breeds a dismissive attitude that eventually leads to arrogance.
Clearly it is just beneath CCP to actually condescend to give us answers.

OK I'm confused.
You guys are saying that everyone with an Expanded Cargohold I BPO woke up this morning to find it had been replaced by an Expanded Cargohold II BPO.
Correct?
My BPO was in my corp hangar and is still a T1 BPO.
What am I not understanding or missing?

Did you had a BPO that was not on production? you said it was in your hangar i assume it was not producing or it was a BPC? And it happened yesterday morning, this morning they changed the basic expander cargohold bpo into expander cargohold I BPO
if you had an expander cargohold I BPO last week then yes it should be tech 2 now, if its not then petition it

I suspect all this is because CCP don't want to do the same errors, an is doing some new one. Seing as the T2 rigs will be available only trough research, and no indications of new T2 items are forthcoming in Revelation, I have the dubt that non new T2 will be distribuited trough R&D agents, but only BPC trough invention, making it real invention. I can be in error, bu I have a strong suspect that is the program CCP is following. So instead that putting only 2 BPO in the lottery they have preferred to change the old BPO.

1. Some one at the EVE Gathering on Iceland, has haxzored into the Database.. and is f0cking around with all sorts of stuff.. OR 2. The devs are drunk over theyr heads, and think theyr playing EVE-online The Textbased browser game. OR 3. Some luuny has hijacked the EVE gathering, and is forcing the dev's to do this stupidly silly things.

Would have been far better to seed the T1 BPOs on the market, and give the owners of the original T1 BPOs a Max Run of the T2 BPO...I mean, FFS, the T1 had run it's course. Prices had stabilized...and now you've given them a ******* goldmine again. ------------------- |

As much as this sucks, and it really does, people would've whined even more if the cargo expander II and sba II would've been the only items (apart from the cloakings?) that were limited in their chance to invent. It would've probably been better if they had just released another set of those items via the lottery, in addition to the T2 versions.

The first miner II BPO's released came from events. The whine that followed forced the devs to introduce more via 300 missions = BPO. Most of the profit was gone by the time that happened though.
