Still having problems, still no viable solution, it all started the second after the revelations patch was installed not before --just after. Reinstall EvE doesnt help.

Edited by: Anton Zuber on 10/12/2006 20:46:02 Still can't connect. Haven't been able to connect since the 27121 patch. Most days even the machonet replacemnt doesn't really help me, it either won't let me connect, or if it does let me connect the game is simply unplayable due to many things simply not responding.
This is downright absurd, I'm trying to figure out how to file charges against CCP for breach of contract at this point.
I have three other friends in town who also play Eve. Two of them can connect and play normally, one cannot. So incuding myself in my tiny little test area, two out of four cannot play EVE.

Ah comeone, its a game ffs. Im just as ****ed about this as you are but im sure there is something in the eula about technical issues being allowed. They have stated theyre trying to fix it. No good getting on your high horse threatening to sue, what will it accomplish?

They haven't even bothered to reply to my petition in over a week, they haven't offered any solutions whatsoever. they just ran through some of the routine rookie tech support questions, traceroute and the like.
I've been unable to connect for about a month now. What do you expect, I'm cancelling my account, and I'm ****ed.

They've already said they're working on it. Haven't you been reading the thread?

Are you having the problem that's been on-going for the past month and isn't even a new problem? I suspect not, otherwise you wouldn't be happy about paying for something only to receive nothing in return.

Yep. He was complaining that the customer service people hadn't contacted him in over a week. I pointed out that they can't really do anything until you devs fix it. Just a few pages back a developer said, "I'm working on this now". And several other people have posted replies from customer service saying the devs are working on it. That's all I'm pointing out. I'm just as annoyed about the problem as everyone else, but the fact is, you can login (if you're having the same problem we are). You just have to convince someone to send you their Machonet folder.

I also still have it on my laptop.
Borrowing machonet folders creates disconnects. New drivers didn't help. Fresh reinstall didn't help.
They are lucky I have 2 pcs or I would have been outtahere.

Problem is still not fixed. It's cancellation time for me. Since this is my second attempt (with a year in between attempts), I won't be back. Let EVE rot as far as I'm concerned.
Good luck all.

Yup, mine is still hanging at the bulk data screen. I was hoping to just jump back in real quick and get a long term skill started training before my official cancel date in 3 days. Guess that won't be happening. Oh well, guess I'll just check here from time to time for the next few months to see if CCP ever fixes it.

I know a few other people mentioned they were seeing this too, but data is getting corrupted that's sent from CCP to me, even from this website. Can packet loss explain this? Looks more like typical line noise you'd see back in the BBS days before protocols with error correction were introduced. And what about that? Surely TCP/IP has error correction. How is this garbage getting through?
Extract from the HTML source of the main forum list page: <td class="mbForum" align=left valign=top width="10"><img src="/images/icon_folder.gif" width="15" height="15"></td> :s^ /[t°¿%+/-+Où}ÖyóX-¯?n=left valign=middle><A href="?a=channel&channelID=109588">Corporations and Alliances Summit</A><br>This is the corporation and alliance version of the Intergalactic Summit. All interaction on this forum is in-character and between corporations or alliances, not individual characters.</td>
I can refresh the page over and over and I usually see some kind of garbage.
This all started on the EVE website at the exact same time I started having this login trouble. --- You are not a beautiful and unique snowflake. You are the same decaying organic matter as everyone else, and we are all part of the same compost heap. |

Hmm. I'm unable to log in and this site has oddities for me too. Heh, right now the smilies for this reply page have some coding junk. The forums often load weird for me. Strange behavior. I wonder if the bug lies not with us but at the server end, or perhaps in between. Something that all of our connection routes share.

The ONLy thing I have notice that actually happens every time to let me into the game is this:
THe only time I cant get into the game and not delete ANYTHING from my game folders is when there is less than 15,000 players online.
I can Always get on right away UNDER that number of players, anything more and I sit at "aquiring bulk data" no matter what I do.
SO I think the issue is with the servers load handling, because thats the only common thing that is happening when I can log in.

I am sorry to say that the problem seems to be coming from our side, and I can assure you that our technical teams are working as fast as possible on that particular issue.
Are you still able to log in after waiting for quite some time or is you screen just completely frozen while trying to retrieve the data plase?
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Best regards, GM Ytterbium EVE Customer Support Team
Hopefully they will solve this issue soon(tm) ;) |

Hi.
I solved this problem for myself, buyed new router and now eve working fine. DI-524 is working good, and cheap. I recommend it for everybody, who's want play eve and boring because devs are incapables. Or following the recommendation of GM Huginn:
Hello,
I want you to try the following steps:
1) We recommend you log out of the game, locate the Cache folder in your EVE game client directory and delete it completely. Please, do not retain any parts of the Cache folder, neither single files nor subfolders, to ensure optimal results from these actions.
2) Please, check for any available updates of applications and driver versions for your Windows system on the Microsoft homepage.
3) Next, we advise you visit the homepages of your video- and audiocard manufacturers and download the latest available driver versions onto your computer.
4) Finally, we recommend you rename your EVE/CACHE/BROWSER/IMG folder to anything, I use ABC - > open EVE, but do not log in - > delete newly created IMG folder - > log in. There is a fix planned for the unwanted bookmarks. You can read about it in the updated patch notes section.

Our most sincere apologies for the inconvenience and please, keep us posted on the results of the above amends.
Best regards, GM Huginn EVE Online Customer Support

I'm glad you told me to just throw money at the problem. I'm glad to see you have fallen for the Microsoft way of doing things. I on the other hand, believe in finding the problem and fixing them. I have 4 server that I'm hosting web, mail, FTP, Streaming MP3, etc... Services. With about $15,000 in routers and firewalls. I NOT taking them out to add a $100 POS.
Call me crazy, but I have 2 accounts. And I think that CCP should stop trying to point the finger at everyone. Why is it that I can play other games with the same hardware and software and have no problems. I love Eve and how much fun it is to play (when I can log in that is), but i hate the finger pointing that CCP does all the time.

Edited by: Novo on 18/12/2006 01:35:06 Edited by: Novo on 18/12/2006 01:34:14 Thing is as I have mentioned before I get get into the game right away, but only after the number of players has dropped below 15,000 users.
Same thing last night, could not get if for over a hour of trying but as soon as the number of players dropped below 15,000 I right away log into the char screen and the game.
Tried EVERYTHING suggested, except buying new hardware because that is the most stupidist suggestion, but only ONE thing in common when I can log into the game.
So at some point having more than 15,000 players for where I am located drops signals and packets enough to make the game not log-in. I am in California.
So those of you on the east coast and in Europe might experience different numbers.
EVERYONE should post if the see a pattern as to when the get in and how many players are showing in the game for them.

I was also having the same issue and i finaly fixed it. in my case it was my ISP (qwest) having high packet loss at the level 3 net. I switched ISP's and the problem is now solved.

Do you had ping timeouts with the "old" ISP? Or you saw only packet loss, and no ping timeout? Because I have packet losses too, but I've got ping replies all the time, and no timeouts.
