This thread has been on page 1 for a month now. Are people really quiting this game as rapidly as this thread indicates? Everytime I Iog in, the Online numbers have been around the same as it was during the summer. Peak hours log in numbers are 32k-24k and the rest of the day it's been from 22k-14k. Those numbers have been pretty consistent for the past 6 months. I have no problem with the plex prices as long as they DON'T go above 1.5 bill. But I can't say the same for the majority. If the plex prices continues to keep rising then it's inevitable that the user base will drop due to lack of volume being purchased. In addition to this the biggest impact on the lowering user base is the new Sov mechanic which CCP is still in the early phases of revamping. Until CCP can get the new sov revamp working perfectly, I don't expect to see any rise in user base. It will remain at these levels until then as long as the prices in plex don't exceed 1.5 bill, in which case it really will start spiraling downwards to the point where CCP may no longer be able to balance the books. |

Considering summer is over and we are supposed to see a spike in players online at the end of august, instead we saw another 1k player average decline from july.

We went from 36k average active players to 18k in just 1 year ... thats 50% less players.
2 years ago EVE had the active player record of 65k players ... nowadays i rarely see more then 20k, except on weekends. |

Looks to have turned around recently (since the start of July), mostly affected by the upswing on Saturday, Sunday and Monday (Monday only recent upswing) for the last couple of months and leveling off of the other days.
Will be interesting to watch and see if a more significant upward trend continues, or if it flattens and falls again.

So many still blaming plex. What did some of these players do before plex? Why were there so many people before plex. Plex is a nothing issue in this discussion.
Main thing that has killed eve so to speak was the winning of null. That is really when a large fall happened. Is why the changes to make null competitive.

By that you mean dropped from 1.3 billion to 1.2 billion :D
The high PLEX prices will mainly drive away people from poorer countries with poor US Dollar exchange rates and the unemployed.
No idea what percentage of the EVE population that group makes up. If most of the players are US and Central European anyway it may make little difference.
