The North Reloaded
Ladies and Gentlemen of EVE, it is with great pleasure tonight that I present to you the results of the Mercenary CoalitionÆs largest contract to date:
CLICK ME -->THE NORTH RELOADED<-- CLICK ME
Within you will find a detailed account of our activities and even commemorative wallpapers. We hope our client is satisfied with our performance and the casual reader enjoys it as well. Special thanks to Loxy for helping me pull all this together at the last minute.
Three months ago, if someone had told me that I would be sending this report as my ship sat safely outside of the station in BKG taking on suppliesà well, I doubt anyone would have believed it. The fact is that we never expected to be in the position we are today. In my eyes, it really came down to a question of will. We were relentless in our task of seeing this contract through. Our targets really left us no other choice.
It started out simple enough û weÆd give BoB a hand here and there, maybe do a few Empire war decs and hope that somehow our client would be on the winning side. In the beginning, that was most certainly not a foregone conclusion. Then our priorities changed. ItÆs one thing to fight a war as a paid soldier, but when the war comes to your front door it changes your perceptions.
We knew that the possibility of MCÆs home space being attacked existed, but the reality of it actually happening awoke something inside my alliance that is hard to describe. I am, of course, referring to the attack upon our capital shipyards and the loss of a Mothership under construction there. It awoke a sense of purpose and a terrible anger. Far from being a æwarning to stay out of itÆ, the Northern CoalitionÆs actions against us only lit the fires of vengeance in the eyes of MC pilots.
In less than a day, our priorities shifted. I informed our client that we would not be just ætagging alongÆ. IÆm not sure what Molle and the rest expected because, to be honest, we made most of it up as we went along. Like any smart client, BoB cut us loose and waited to see what would kind of return their investment would yield.
Our success is attributable to several factors, foremost in them being that the pilots of the MC believe in what we are doing in EVE. When we invaded P-2TTL there were no guarantees û it was us against the North and we never blinked, not once. Our commanders, our logistic teams and our pilots are simply amazing and I take my hat off to each and every one of them.
Above all else, we owe a large part our success to the corps and alliances who saw what we were doing and willingly rallied to our banner. People IÆd never worked with or even spoken to put themselves fully under MC command. They put their own disputes aside and held up the æAllianceÆ flag. They shared the risks, the defeats (there were a few) and the victories. You need not ask who they are as most of them are now prominently displayed on Joshua and PaladinÆs maps. Victory Defined
In the last 143 days of combat operations, the MC sustained an 83.5% efficiency ratio with regard to ships. We speak not of our allies in the campaign, simply of ourselves.
Battleships: 1719 killed / 160 lost Carriers: 36 / 10 Dreadnoughts: 36 / 7 Freighters: 8 / 0 Capsules: 4431 / 295
Large Starbases: 144 killed / 2 lost Medium Starbases: 19 / 0 Small Starbases: 14 / 0
Motherships in Build: 2 killed / 1 lost
In eighty days the MC-led invasion of the North resulted in the takeover of twenty-three enemy stations and outposts and the displacement / destruction of nearly a dozen alliances, four of them major claimers of territory. -

^^ Mods please delete the above post for continuity.
As a follow up to the above report, I am also proud to announce that a corporation we have flown with for several months and who has proven themselves time and time again are now full members of the Mercenary Coalition. We welcome our German brothers in Seraphin Technologies [SERA] and honor them with the long awaited Joker card.
NEW MC ALLIANCE LOGO
Congratulations to CptDelta and his dedicated crew of pilots. You and yours made this campaign even more successful.
Loxy, get to work changing all these logos!

Its been so hard being semi-out of game for the last months, watching this unfold. Congratulations go out to all the people on all sides of the fences for the fights, the explosions, the debate and the fun.
Its been really interesting watching perceptions of the campaign change along the way.

Epic Thread!
Whatever side you're on, you can't deny that MC does it's job with class, precision and dedication. Even at that, they have something else that just plain puts them a cut above the rest (maybe the motherships).
GJ guys, that contract sounds like it was pretty grate.

Edited by: Saladin on 18/06/2007 00:01:40 This war got started but a few weeks after I joined the MC and Eternity, and it was everything I imagined it could be. I could say that I stayed up long hours, missed a few days at work to see this all through, but it would be a lie. Its great to be part of a team of people who can rely on each other to get things done. ----
