Congratulations MC on a job well done, I dont think anyone expected D2 to get rolled so quickly, or easily for that matter. I hope to one day fly with people as skilled as you, and if the day comes that you have to kill me. No hard feelings.

It is interesting to note that it is the swing in perception is a huge determinate in alliance level warfare as a truly staggering amount of people simply hurry to join whoever the apparent winner is in any given conflict.
Watching alliances scramble over themselves to 'make friends' with MC once MC had the perceived advantage swelled the MC ranks. All sorts of entities that wouldn't put a ship in space under normal conditions, suddenly start showing up in significant numbers when assured they'd have the safety of MC support.

That is the miracle of charismatic leaders. They give their troops confidence. It sounds like the command ship modules, MMO number crunshing like 20% boost to troop strength, but it really works in RL too. A good leader can change the balance of power. The Alliance has quite a few charismatic and well known leaders. That, and the fact that they after this victory seem even more invincible will further increase the respect they will instill in their enemies and the confidence they will give their troops in the future. I personally wouldn't hesitate a second to throw my most expensive ship into a suicide run if I were ordered to by my FCs. One of the strong points of the Alliance.
The Coalition had strong morale and support in the Beginning. It's like armies of warriors shouted into the woods to intimidate the enemy and get the adrenaline pumping. They were many and shouted loud, but somewhere on the way they lost this confidence.
On the other hand the Alliance probably had quite a few members that were intimidated, and looked into a grim future. Now they are in the rush of victory, after many won fights against a once frightening enemy. Who wouldn't want to grant them that after this conflict. They have earned the victory through hard work.
The war is still raging on the southern front tho. Who knows what will happen. Here is to many more awesome battles. Cheers to the northern allies and the MC! --------------------- This is the signature

As usual, you are entirely mistaken.
Leadership works on all levels, but is not the phenomenon I am referring to. MC can happily claim that they fight harder and better for being well led. You'll find us 'gank jockies' are also perfectly aware that ops run smoother or choppier depending on who leads them.
No, the real item I was calling out there is that many people are basically gutless swine, looking to pile on for the easy win. The ever-growing swarm of people rushing to kiss up to MC and co. isn't because MC's leadership was amazing. They may or may not be, no its simply that the vultures wanted to be on the winning side when the end rolled around.
This certainly isn't the case merely in the larger wars, you'll see it all the time in disputes all over EVE. Heck, even the recent Providence scuffles had that as well, with various gutless groups rushing to kiss up to whoever they felt currently had the stronger chance of victory.
I consider it more an ugly display of human nature.

Now seriously. Comments like that are lame. They are getting old and tiresome. If you have personal grunge against BoB & comp., get your friends and go kick their butts. According to CAOD forums there are plenty likeminded individuals like you.

Heh, amusingly enough I don't think you are wrong. There was definitely a rush to join up against BoB when it looked like the other team might get big enough to blob you out. I think it was a more cautious rush simply because not as many people were convinced BoB was actually beat at the time.
