Telenor is still using NIX, and will be using it till the 1st July. So this shouldnt be the issue here. ---------- Kill them all - God will recongnize his own. |

For those of you who can't connect and have BBB as ISP (might work with others too): I just got my main computer to connect to Tranquility by getting my IP changed a couple of times. Eventually I got one that worked.

What?! this is such a pain. why us? they better get us connected back up to eve soon cos we all paid good money to play, and i doubt an isp is allowed to block customers access to an mmo for any reason. :( I been trying to get on all day.
Telenor better get this fixed asap

I'm kinda praying that there is another server outage this evening because the only way i can get on is by wating for the server startup countdown to hit 0.
For some reason once that happens it gives me status : ok and i can get in. But once i relog it goes back to status : unknown. So basically the only way i can get on is after a reboot or at the end of daily downtime.
Does this mean anything? Does it indicate a prob on my end or the tranquility end?

Edited by: Patron Wizard on 24/06/2007 23:49:16 I don't think it's just overseas. Or even a provider. I have two computers going and one can get on and the other can not.
As with most others, I've re-installed the game with no effect. I'm thinking CCP is going to lose money over this.
Edit: I meant to say that I'm in Washington, USA.

See Spawinte's last comment. A good summary of the thread. If you see Telnor on your tracert you can either use the proxy being provided by Uhr (read back) or wait until the dodgy router is fixed, which I believe is Monday. An alliance mate had problems and managed to get them fixed ... here's his suggestion below. This worked for him (sorta) so it might work for others(not me).
== I managed to get my computer working. Had to renew the IP address through DOS.
ipconfig /release net stop "DHCP client" net start "DHCP client" ipconfig /renew
Worked for me. No idea if it will work for you.
Now I can't access the eve-o forums instead..... ==
nope that wil not work
Well, it DID work for me. I have BBB as ISP and my connection died at the same time as the other Swedes. I have 2 computers and one of them worked just fine while the other couldn't access TQ. Having spent some time reading the BBB help pages I tried the above and it worked. At least it helped me to get online again. Something is still bugged though as I can't access this forum from home.

This is my report of this problem (if it might help someone): I have 4 computers at home with different OSs since i'm a software developer. They all have different IP addresses coming from BBB/Telenor and i'm not useing a router. The same day everyone else got this connection problem all but one computer stoped working and got the "Status:Unknown". Along with the TQ connection problem came the fact that i couldn't connect to support.eve-online.com... but everything else worked.
I havn't been able to solve this problem until now, and the solution was even more puzzling. After having read that someone renewed their IP address, i did the same on one of the computers. I use a dynamic IP settings with my ISP and my ISP rarely gives out new IP addresses. Since the IP address was the same after i had /renew i presumed it wouldn't have any effect. BUT IT DID! Now i can access the TQ server but i lost connection to but support.eve-online.com AND myeve.eve-online.com so i'm writing this message from one of the other computers that can't access the TQ server. It feels like it's a routing problem even though some of my computers can connect and some can't, useing the same ISP.

Edited by: Seraphim008 on 25/06/2007 09:54:23 Hmmm, don't think they did. I did a traceroute earlier this morning, after failing to connect to Tranquility, and it showed 100% packetloss at two of Telenor's hops, number 4 and 5. Now I CAN connect, just did and updated my skilltraining. I did a new traceroute and the same two nodes STILL show 100% packetloss, hops 4 and 5 respectively.

Once again, it's not unusual that a few hops along a route don't respond and as long as the packets get through to the final destination it is not a problem.
Anyway, the problem with Telenor seems to have been fixed.

Jepp, that is whats important. I actually had trouble with multiplayer Battlefield 2 as well this weekend, both with vanilla BF2, BF2 SF and BF2: Project Reality. Thought I had messed up during install or something, the game totally froze up after about 2 mins of play, forcing me to do a hard reboot with the powerswitch. But, as of now it works brilliantly, so I'm a happy customer again.

Dont think it was them actually. I was in contact with kundeservice and they said that eve online.com/87.237.39.199 was 'answering' but was 'down'.
The person said he forwarded my petition to the hamsters dealing with NIX.
