But even the failure of my local traceroute program can't possibly be related to any errors in the EVE client.
Originally by: Marus Sulla Everything looking ok .... At the moment i'm tending towards a client problem. Either with the CCP client or a PC config problem. A re-install of XP should clear that.
Like I said before might be a mix of problems is confusing everyone?
Reinstalling Windows will help this problem about as much as changing the sparkplugs in your car will help you connect better to eve. It has nothing whatsoever to do with the problem.
Please stop the guessing and get "networking for blathering idiots" book or something. The Tracerts show you the problem.. end of friggin story.
iPod LoSec - Let the smacktalk begin...
Tone it down ... I already posted my tracert which showed no problems. (Top of Page 4) keep it constructive.
The problem is either
1) my client 2) network 3) CCP Servers
I doubt its 3) as everyone else is in ... 2) looks ok ... which leaves 1)

Dmn, that was odd. Sever suddenly showed status OK and 21K+ online but connection failed and it's now back at showing Unknown ![Sad](/images/icon_sad.gif) And no, it's not a client issue the tracerouts clearly show that traffic doesn't get through to the server. If the tracerouts/pings show a working connection to the server and we still fail to connect. Then I'm with you, then it's probably a client issue.

well we can be shure there is no problem on our client... there is also no problem in tq ...since we have 21807 players on it . i was 2 sek on it 2 min ago but got disconnectet .. looks like .. some ruter have to mutch to do .. i thing is some ruter in england .. since we can use every thing else ... ... oohh yea even if you get request time out tos this not mean there is a problem to get information true a gateway ... it only mean the ruter dint awnser you ping request .. well there are mayy ruter that do not do this .. and if the internet get true space or radio signals.. then you get request time out ,,, every time at the place + the last show adress ( or ruter) in the trace show only the thing that work .. all after that can make problems so you do not see se problem ruter at all and you never will se it

LOL ... I hate computers
Looks like the ultimate Helpdesk nightmare . Intermittent. I am going to hold off the PC rebuild for a couple of days see if anything/anyone comes up with some ideas. TBH the intermittent nature is suggesting a network infrastructure issue.

They're both using the same gateway.
Is there any difference in the two?

I understand people are praying for it to be something they can fix... but it really is not... This is what I did for a living for 3 years. Its like if a cop comes in and sees a dead body and a man is standing there pulling the knife out and says "I did it.. he was an idiot".. you dont have to look much further.
The tracert is the man with the bloody knife saying he did it.
So sorry for my aggression but its frustrating seeing everyone grasping at straws when the answer is right there.
...and none of us can do anything to help it.
Notice 90% of us are BBB (Telenor) or Telenor direct customers... In Sweden and Norway... That is even more for the smoking gun..

The others from UK are having a similar issue... I assume... I can only speak for the ones on my ISP... We would need to compare the choke points of a few UK customers to see which is thier problem router... It is possible that more than one router has gone down in the internet at any given point... So the fact that ppl from UK are having problems and not telenor customers means nothing really.

Fair enough. My issue is that my tracert pasted below again does not show any connection to telnore and i am guessing this is the same for others. Again I will merely point out that there may be more than one issue here. If I am incorrect iPod simply state where.

I agree 100% that its multiple problems... One is for Scandinavian Telenor/Bredbandsbolaget(also Telenore)... and the other is related to you UK guys... Can very well be seperate types of issues and hence your Tracert... but you did a 30 hop Trace and posted only 7... Let the trace run out.. can take some time... And paste the entire trace please. Perhaps we can get closer to your UK problem... Since we know what out problem is here in Scandinavia.
Thanks.. iPod LoSec [sig removed for space]

NBT you are assuming these problems are related to each other. Thats an assumption you are making with no supporting evidence. And in my opinion, totally incorrect. The Telenor problem is not necessarily connected to the UK issue... tho it may in fact be the same TYPE of failure... I have no evidence to support that theory either. We can only examine multiple UK Traces and see...

Edited by: iPod LoSec on 23/06/2007 14:26:03 Marus... This may be redundant but your problem can be local, have you tried clearing your cache.. c:\Documents and settings\(your user)\Application Data\CCP\
Try that and reboot and restart eve... It MIGHT help... It doesnt seem like you are having real network issues according to the tracert anyway.
BTW See if you can search on the www.eve-online.com webpage... the search accesses a server that we Telenords also cant reach.... I am interested to know if you can.

Its this kind of commentary from you that got me in hostile mode earlier... If you talk to me like a human I will talk to you like a human.. deal?
The first message Mar posted was clipped after 7.. leading me to wonder if it was incomplete.. he then posted the completed tracert and i was able to see it managed clear thru.
No hostility necessary.
I am trying to help... and I also REALLY want to play. My chars have all stopped training. We are all just as frustrated... I have stopped aggressiveness. But if you provoke me all the time I will react on frustration like anyone else would.

I got the same problem too.. eve-online.com is fine. But I can not access the game server, secure.eve-online.com or support.eve-online.com.
Tried to use one of those webproxys and it worked fine for the webpage.
![Mad](/images/icon_mad.gif) Earlier evemon reported the server up, but it was gone again after a cuple of mins.
