I'm on Clearwire and its not their fault for once. I think some peole had success by changing their IP address or using a proxy server to connect. I have been unable to do either so far.

no idea where we go from here, i'm just waiting day by day now until somebody gives some kind of response as to what the cause might be. we've tried everything, using a proxy seems to be the only answer, but as i said before we should not have to do that.

Edited by: Haldir Ravenclaw on 26/06/2007 00:30:56 Hi there.
I too have suffered the same cruel fate today of it getting to "Entering Game as Haldir Ravenclaw", waiting for ages, then saying "Failed" and then going back to desktop saying "Connection Lost", and only started doing it today. On random occasions it would actually load into the game but crash soon afterwards. As I type I'm re-downloading the full EVE client as a measure, but who knows.
I too am from the UK and have Tiscali as my ISP, and if it's worth noting, I use a Linksys ADSL router. Used the trace command in DOS and successfully manages to reach 87.237.38.200, so who knows what's going on? We'll see!

you know this really sucks. im trying to be as patient as i can be, but if this thing doesnt get fixed, im cancelling my subscription. whats the point in paying for something and then not being able to use/play what you pay for?? getting fed up now....its been what? one, two weeks now?

if your problem is similar to mine then you might be able to get on the way i do, even if its only to switch to a long skill, when the server is counting down to uptime near the end of downtime make sure your client is running, when the countdown hits zero it gives me status:ok and lets me log in.
if you close the client and try to relog though you will get status:unknown so the only way to stay on is to never close the client and be there for the end of DT every day, thats not really an option though

yea thats not really an option when i have to go to school and work. Besides, we shouldnt have to wait for the server to be up at a specific time of day. We pay to play, it should be up when we want to play. The money that they recieve from their clients (us gamers) should go to fixing the downtime and connectivity issues such as this. I mean seriously...its been two weeks now I think...That is bogus. Paying for something I cant even play. And these other solutons that gamers are comming up with, shouldnt have to do that. Yea it may work, but for some people, it is a complicated process just to play and that shouldnt be happening.
I sent an e-mail to the CCP Headquarters earlier, so when I hear something back I will let you all know.

Edited by: Prototype Warchild on 30/06/2007 17:08:53 I live in the UK, for a few days after revelations 2 I kept getting booted at random, it's now a week since not being able to get on at all... ffs CCP, get your fingers out of your backsides, people are paying to play a game that they can no longer access, its a bit unfair, will I see my week of lost play time re embursed? I dont think so, let alone time wasted un able to change skills... wakey wakey guys, sort your community out before it falls apart around your feet... I know I certainly wont be paying for eve ever again if this doesnt get sorted soon
Edit: I'm on Tiscali in the UK, I also know people on AOL UK having a similar problem.

anybody still getting the status:unknown for no reason at all.?
i've been getting it for 3 weeks. contacted my ISP and its not them, they specifically made sure that the right ip's and ports were open for me. i have exhausted every other little solution i could find from eve-o and the web.
i have restored system to points waaay before the problem. tq has just decided that i am status:unknown and thats that. i can autopatch and everything else just not login.
i am with cleawire ireland pinging/tracing tq just fine. this is the last time i am going to post about this. less than 2 weeks until my sub updates again. if i still cant connect then it wont be renewed.
please if anybody else still gets this then post here, would be nice to know if i'm still alone or not

Well connecting to the server goes bloody slow but i can come in after several times of trying. When im finally in the game i get booted every 30-50 sec. But i sure it depents what region or system the char is in.
Indeed it getting more and more frustrating to play.
Wondering where the need for speed is,i dont see or feel it.

you know what? ive sent CCP 3 e-mails, not one reply yet. And thats been a span of three weeks. They still havent fixed the problem of connecting, and YET they come out with a RevII patch 2.0.1. WHAT THE ****?! they can come out with a patch, but not fix the biggest problem with their system?! You know what, I have been patient as everyone else, and many of you may say wait a bit longer, but truth is, you and i are paying for this game.... AND WE CANT EVEN PLAY!! They are recieving our payments, and what do we get in return? Supposed to get the ability to play the game we pay for without many bug issues, right? Its been over three weeks now.....Have they fixed the problem? Have they responded to the countless complaints? Have they even CHECKED the boards here on eve-o?! NO! You know what...Im done with CCP, Im done with EVE. It was a good run before it went to ****, and then hit the fan. Maybe when Eve's CCP team decides to become better business men and women, and actually take the time to check up on what their clients are asking/saying in their forums, I will come back...but not until I see improvements.
Many of you have suggested other solutions to this problem. Truth is, many people find it too complex and confusing to do, some find it obsurd to pay for another service, ontop of the Eve subscription, just to play. You shouldnt have to come up with these solutions. Yes its great and it may work, but you shouldnt have to do it. I just would like to say thanks to those who helped me out when i first joined, and its been fun folks. Catch ya later.

Hey Spawinte,
I'm using Clearwire aswell, and I can't connect. A friend of mine was also using it and he couldn't connect either. He's sent his modem back and is getting in Eircom. I have worked with CCP over the last few weeks and they think that something either in the ISP or my router is blocking port 26000. I have spoken to Clearwire and they *say* they have changed nothing, but I no longer believe them. When I used the program suggested (http-tunnel) I was able to get through, well, until the lastest patch which now has me stuck at Attaining Bulk Data. That program set up a proxy that allowed me to listen on port 1080 instead of port 26000 for EVE connections. Basically Clearwire won't connect to CCP on port 26000. Clearwire are known for blocking ports due to there rabid anti-P2P stance. I think your ISP is the problem.
I can connect with the same machine over the BT network, but not the Clearwire.
Just thought you should know,
Yoritomo
P.s. I hope it is a CCP problem, because there is some chance of the situation changing then.

Well for some reason my problems occured again after patching yesterday. I could not connect to eve and i couldnt connect to www.eve-online.com. All other webpages and instant messaging etc etc worked as normal. Im at work now so no problem browsing eve-o. I tried disabling F-secure security pack. Didnt work either.
I had the same problem about a week ago. Except that time i was able to connect on my wifes laptop through cable. Didnt work on either computers on wireless.
Now nothing works.

damn it, i contacted them about this and they requested ip addresses and port numbers so the could make sure all was ok. i gave them the tq and test server ip + port 26000.
they said they had made the right settings changes to my modem but i guess they are still blocking the other ip leading into tq.
guess i'll be going digiweb then, i really didnt want to have to do that cos it means getting a landline which i dont bloody need.
