if they make it 6/6/6 like the rattlesnake but with a bonus to turrets (cap use/ROF) and a built in 37.5% shield boost amount, thats rather win.

Yeah I saw that a few days ago and pondered whether to buy one since I always liked the looks of ship. Discussed it a bit on corp forums. Well then I figured that the amarr marauder would be probably similar if not better dmg-wise and there would be no need to train for a shieldtank so for the current 1bil price of the nightmare I'll pass. Well... maybe for those that don't have the skills to fly the marauders it would be a nice alternative I guess... since the changes to this ship and the introduction of the t2 BS's will prolly come in the same patch.

I expect that CCP will play around with all the faction ships. It's not just the Nightmare that has changed, all the Sansha ships have.
It would seem they're trying to give them a proper role in things, by making them worth more than just proof of ISK hoarding ability.

If it were me, I'd armour tank it (5 slot armour tank is pretty standard when you get dowen to it) while having a close range setup, with 3 spare slots for EW and two spare highslots for Smartbombs/Nos/Neuts, oh and 8 bonunsed turrets.....Bonzah!

1050dps with scorch, relevant skills at 5, spec lvl4, 3x db/ts/navy heatsinks. With 2x 5% damage implants 1150 dps with scorch at 45km while enjoying full benefit of shield tank. Oomph it doesn't get fricking cap usage "bonus" for lasers but still carebears can start reprocessing their cnrs.
Maybe it's on sisi, but i'm quite certain this won't see TQ.

I would not mind it at all. Still , however amarr really lacked le pwn carebearboat. Navy apoc, bhaalgorn are nice but fail at carebearing as arma/abaddon pwn them. Would pwn in pvp also, however using anything more than t2 in blobs online isn't cost/effort(<- more than cost) effective.

Lawl at my numbers tbh. When i saw 6 hi slots i was sure it's 6 guns. Then only 2/3dps, still 800dps with scorch and running 4 guns isn't hard (same sh1t as 8 on poc). Was so excited i didn't look good :P
But again, this won't see TQ imo.

It's not 8 on poc because it gets a damage bonus on top of this. It now has the DPS of the abaddon. And 7 mids.
I pray this won't make it to TQ because it is a monster.

Indeed, armor tank for pvp (about 500dps with no dmg mod on and maxskills), shieldtank for pve 
It's success will only trully depend on what the marauders are like. If the paladin's (amarr marauder) stats are similar dmg wise to the nightmare (while ofc having slightly bigger resists) then it's usability will be more limited than you initialy give it credit for.

Same as running 8 guns on apoc(while ignoring cap bonus of apoc... ) ... anyway i just wanted to say it's doable and with 7 meds shield tank from hell.
Oh and i percieve lot of amarr pilots in ravens in few months when this "thing" loses 100% laser dmg bonus adn get 10% smartbomb activation bonus time

400k lp and 100 mil and minerals of tier2 bs.
That's like 30lvl4 missions with q20 agents that are plenty in stain. (you can get 15k lp with proper skills for most of lvl4 missions) - this said, LP shop in 0.0 is pure isk sink as there's no way to ***** enough isk to spend it in lp store
