CCP won't make a Khanid BS because it would be in violation of Iceland's ****ography laws. The way you guys are getting a little too happy dreaming about it makes it clear you would be hiding away Khanid pictures in the darkest areas of your comps so your wives can't see them. Be mindful of your surroundings. |

Then again khanid is not a special faction, but a under-division of the amarr kingdom, hence: any khanid ship is required to be a tech II amarr ship, and preferably in a class with TWO tech II ships as quite alot of amarr players have very little missile skills, and a option for laser *****s is thereby required.
actually, if i remember what i read about khanid lore, it's not a subdivision of the amarr empire at all - rather an independent offshoot of the amarr empire that embraced caldari ways and survives diplomatically by producing amarr/caldari hybrid ships (hence amarr hulls with launcher hardpoints)
if i'm correct, it'd make sense lore-wise to have khanid faction ships. whether it'd make sense practically, i donno

Ummm, I completely disagree with this assumption. While not separate in terms of character selection for us, the Khanid are in fact a completely different faction from the Amarr Empire, namely as the Khanid Kingdom. Various writings (here and here) serve to substantiate this statement. They're like the Intaki Syndicate - though they historically originate from one of the four playable Empires, they're wholly independent and self-governing factions.
What is established in game however is that the Khanid have created several Tech II class ships. This meshes nicely with the description of the Royal Khanid Navy: "The RKN is not big, but much more hi-tech than that of their cousins the Amarrians.".
Personally, I would like to see a (Tech II) "Dark Amarrian" Battleship one day. I would theorize that changes to the Amarr Black Ops Battleship could realize this, but I don't propose any specifics.

The maelstrom?! ok well I understand that aerodynamics are pretty much negligible in space (cba with solar winds atm) but the maelstrom, like the brutix, would be unable or traveling in a straight line due to the forces acting on it not acting through its center of gravity, and due to this I just feel it looks massively silly.
Do you know the mass distribution of the maelstrom? i certainly dont perhaps its mass is centered in such a way so that its center of gravity is directly inline with the engines, I think its rather silly of you to asume that the ship has a standerdized mass cross section. It my be unlikely that its center of gravity is inline... but its not impossible.

A torpedo slinging Apocalypse [Neither of the other hulls I could really imagine fitting in with the missile style] would brighten my day considerably.
5% torpedo damage, 5% max capacitor, 5% resists, and 10% torpedo velocity per level of respected ship class?
Sign me the hell up. No, seriously, I'll start training missile skills RIGHT NOW if it were confirmed.
Do the right thing. Don't leave shuttles in space. |

How about a second set of mauraders?
That right there would scream Khanid.
Sadly, I've been forced to use my typhoon as a Khanid Apoc, as it most closely follows Khanid battle tactics. Missiles, Drones, Nos/neut, and heavy armor tank.
And while we are at it, why not a second set of HICs? One set, the tankier of the two, the second set, gankier... I'm just bringing that up, because I want a black omen... but so does everyone else.

There's been an Elite Apocalypse Khanid semi in the database for a long time (no proper name or stats, but it has a khanid skin), apparently intended to be the amarr marauder before CCP went with the paladin.

I would kill myself (in a good way, mind you) for a black khanid apoc! I just love how they look, heck I'd even train amarr BS V for it.

Edited by: Slade Hoo on 08/06/2008 00:09:18 Khanid BS - wheather t1 or t2...a close range with missiles, heavily armored vessel....would be awesome. Missiles and Armor tank can be balanced, no question.
I prefer the Armageddon as its model. Or a completly new model as a 4th t1 BS? I wish my dreams become true.
Maybe don't put so many launcher into the hislots...it could be designed around cap warfare with some launcher hardpoints?

I agree with the geddon model missiles have slower rate of fire than turrets so the rate of fire bonus changed to missiles would be sweet...possibly overpowered but sweet.

Khanid Innovation have made the khanid ships, this act forces every other khanid ship to be a tech II amarr ship.
You don't whine that there should be Tech 1 Duvolle Lab galante ships, or Duvolle Lab faction ships do you?
or a Boundless Creations faction line?
In the game system khanid is simply a ship producer with some fluff surrounding it, anything else is ccp's fault Support the introduction of well thought out Amarr solutions!
I believe rats should avoid you if you have high standing with them. |
