My Launcher is trying to validate client, still at 0.0%. First time it has done this for as long. Usually the perpetual ailments with the Launcher go away a week after each expansion/patch but it has been longer than that.
Anybody have any suggestions that could help? Already have 2 tickets open on it and the GM is busting his gut to try and help, but nothing has worked yet. |

Tried uninstalling Eve, and re installing it but it still is a empty white launcer that says: Uh-Oh! Something Went Wrong!

So let me get this straight. You guys decided to ask us to patch this crap launcher to actually play the game - that's genius. I don't want to play the launcher - rather the game. I gotta say that initially I was sorta excited about all these mini-content patches - but the game has been getting more buggy every time. Pushing out crap that takes a lot of time to resolve has actually reduced my play time and thus my love for this game. Unlike several fine gentleman that have IT experience, I don't, so this entire thread is like reading another language to me. CCP - fix this mess so that computer noobs like myself can actually enjoy giving you my money every month. I'd suggest Thant since your having such a hard time getting new subs that you actually give a crap about the loyal subscribers you already have.

I have had the same issue during validation of client phase. Don't know how but I managed to get two instances of the launcher active at same time. While one held onto the crash window (which I did not interact with) the other finished the validation and I was able to log onto game for my free trial. Si decided to splash a bit of money for a small time active account and closed game to refresh for my 'free' ship. Guess what .launcher crashed over and over again.
The only way I can log in is by going into the bin folder of eve and using the "exefile'' it worked the first time and I haven't logged off since. May not until my sub runs out. Only bad thing is you wont see any links to click for your free ship-so I'm hosed in that regard.

Hello, problem with the launcher for the past 2 days and no help in sight till now, it gets stuck at 2/4 @ 25% and tried everything possible from my end (repair.exe, un-install and re-installed 4 times etc). Also put in 2 tickets for the help but no solution in sight. i read in another forum that after few days the problem get solved..so do we have to wait always for few days ?
Please if anyone with knowledge of this thing can help further. |

Can not download build 855542, updater will crash when trying to build the patch.
Repair tool will also crash when trying to download the files for repair.
Launcher was working fine up to this new patch, there was no changes to my system or the network. Check your patch server CCP |

This behavior started three days ago when I had to rebuild my system and reinstall Eve along with a number of other applications. (All apps except EVE are working just fine.) All the 'alternative' boot tricks to launch Eve have been tried without success. Am going to remove and reinstall EVE in an attempt to fix this problem. Would appreciate it if anyone who has had a recent fix for the problem let me know what's going on.

No fix, sorry. 
But I was just about to give up on this and started searching the forums to see if anyone else was having this issue, and I gotta say I'm both glad that I'm not the only one but I'm also kind of pissed that others are having issues with this too.
Eve stopped working for me just a couple nights ago all of the sudden (right after last patch, go figure) and the repair tool keeps hanging at 85.4% during the "(2/7) Hashing files" and "(4/7) Calculating patch" processes and my whole comp chugs for a few minutes until I either can kill CCP.exe (if I'm trying to run the game) or the repair tool finally fails. Repair tool shows a "IOError: [Errno 13] Permission denied" during the hang-ups. |

This it the error log when i use the 345 repair tool, when I use the latest version of the repair tool the downloading patch hangs at 75% no matter what I do, this is a load of bull and I want a proper fix asap, I payed for this game and I expect it to actually work, idk perhaps try testing your update before deploying them??? |

Sorry for the delay, work and other RL stuffs got in the way this week.
I've tried both that one and the 2.2.859950 version. Latest version simply stalls half-way through the "Creating Patch 859797 to 860458" part and eventually the update fails at exactly the same point every time -- 52%. Earlier one does the same as well. I'd love to send you a text message containing the exception popup that comes up when the launcher fails the update. Can I do that with a bug report (it would be a pretty large text file, OpenOffice shows the whole thing is about 75,000 characters long)? Or is there a specific area I should be looking for?
For reference, the following is the top part of the exception popup...

Alright, so weird (and ****) week it's been. Turns out I had to reboot my machine this afternoon and got a BSOD and had to pretty much reformat my hard drive. After having reinstalled Eve Online, thankfully it works and I was able to log in, boot the client up, and started redoing my UI setup. Sucks, cause I lost a crap ton of stuff that I had no room on my external to have backups for...music, vids, personal files, browser BMs from sites I couldn't remember how to get back to, save files for all my games.
Thing of it is that I was already planning on doing a reformat at some point, just wish I had a chance to pick when to do so rather than get a blue screen on startup and a "Whoops, guess what, we didn't keep those monthly recovery points you scheduled a year back" from my OS. Thanks for that, btw Microsoft.
tl;dr - Eve works for me now, yay! But my weekend still manages to suck donky ****, yay!  |

Since last weeks launcher update, I cannot log in via the launcher (now version 2.1.826897) - the previous version was sketchy as it allowed logon/password entry then locked and didn't fire up the client, this version now displays offline mode permanently.
Entry to EVE via the bin.exe is the only option.
Please fix things. |

Since Proteus I have successfully logged on only a few times.
During this time I moved house and switched from Sprint cell phone wifi hotspot to AT&T uverse.
When I start launcher is has a blank white screen or a black screen and pictures are not showing, no logon etc. It acts like it can not connect to EVE.
Downloaded launcher from link - same thing Ran repair tool and it says it has errors and can not continue.
Wiped EVE and started from scratch (with a dns flush). After eve downloads and get 75% through install it says there is a problem and I have to run repair.exe. I try repair.exe and it does not open the repair tool!
Launcher now gives me a white screen everytime.
If I run Eveexe I can login to game but all ships are invisible!
I think there is an issue with AT&T uverse blocking Eve Online and preventing a correct installation or upgrade/patch. If anyone has experience of this or can assist with a workaround I would love to hear it.

For posting an idea into F&I:
come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it.....

Use the bin.exe file in your CCP/EVE/ directory to launch the game, use the repair application to patch up. Still usable as CCP seems to want to rebreak the launcher again and again.
Last weeks launcher 859950 worked from Tuesday until today, congrats for breaking it again CCP. |

Also getting this. Worked fine last night, whatever you guys did today broke it.
Launcher loads in offline mode.
Using "exefile" loads the client but it's unable to connect.
Using repair causes it to fail with an error report that says it cannot connect. I'd paste it but it flags the "no HTML" forum thingy.
Downloading the "new" repair.exe in the OP does the same damn thing. Completely unable to connect in any fashion and everything else that uses internet, is functioning normally. Both PCs with Eve installed are unable to connect. Router and modem have been rebooted and tested with the firewall down. |
