I have launched again the repair tool and now it worked till the end.
BUT NO WAY TO HAVE THE CHARACTERS LOGIN SREEN (just the f***ing launcher no more)
Controlling the processes i see that after i hit play on the launcher the "exefile.exe" runs just for 3-4 seconds than disappears without any error msg.
SOMEBODY HEAR ME !?!?!?

Mhmmm changed the option of DirectX to 9 from 11... It works. Strange that i have Win7 and DirectX 11 installed.

My Reply:
yes that updates to the older launcher but immediately then downloads the new launcher files that put the broken launcher back into my files and closes and then reopens the launcher in the broken version... so, doesnt work for me... WISH that it did...and I deleted the whole launcher file contents and it just keeps putting it back as soon as the corrected launcher loads... and that forum topic has been closed.. and if the system is auto correcting any old version back up to the newest broken version.. I dont have a clue as to how to fix it and I paid for a year's subscription and have been online a month and now unless EVE corrects the problem.. how long can I expect to be locked out of EVE? (it updates the launcher faster than I can put in my ID and login to the launcher) I have done 3 clean installs.. all files removed... tried the launcher updater, tried the repair, tried the clearing all my caches and rebooting, checked my firewall and virus programs.. I am flat out of options from my end... HELP!

That scenario is excactly whats happenening to me as well, and as i read Palomahna's post, what happens to him as well.
I can open the launhcer, and folder name says 655130.win32 correctly. Can enter my login info, and click play, yet nothing happens, and lots of if... And cant find any info what so ever on how to correct it. |

Same here (hi there) the launcher does not seem to be the problem. version 655130, same effect: none

Starting launcher as admin makes no difference, starting bin/exefile.exe gives a busymouse for a short time and thats it. Version 2013.65.1687 (no differnce if started as admin)
The logs directory contains empty stacktracefiles like #stacktrace b653401 2013.01.20 22.01.36.txt, 1 for each try to start
Anything else I can do to get my (freshly installed) client to play rubicon? (Petition also not working so far) |

k, found it on the german branch: posted: 2013.11.20 11:49 use direct x9 in the launcher settings.
i am really not happy now. this is quite a bad service. Why was the petition not answered?

I added this to my ticket: I feel very unhappy with the fact that there is a lot of room for advertising in the launcherscreen but no place is wasted for tips regarding patch issues.

The repair.exe never starts correctly because it never connects to the server
This launcher version is v.2.1.655130
I have tried complete deletion of all eve files.
I can no longer get into eve by bypassing the launcher. Settings and a debug log are meaningless (And Empty)because the launcher never connects to the server.
In my case it's probably a connection to an update that Microsoft threw at us called Windows 8.1 which does nothing but cause it's own set of problems.
We need a new link to a complete download that does not go through the launcher.

I have the same problem. It worked until about downtime then trying to start and getting the launcher.exe has stopped working. There was no change on my comp and I ran the repair successfully...but still the same.

i'm having the same issue yesterday it was working fine but now when i try to use it it comes up launcher not responding i tried repairing the client came back no problems but still the same please help |

If i close Steam all works.
Steam open its a hung app
This is also causing problems getting into my one Steam account.

So I followed this procedure ... and the launcher just disappeare from the screen. Now i have no launcher at all it seems. Shortcuts do not work, nor going to the launcher file location direct. For some reason I managed to log in through the Bin though I had tried this previously and it would not work. But as to where my Eve Launcher has gone ???
How do I get my launcher back??? |

Got a similar issue as above with the launcher just hanging after showing the launch screen. Sometimes the login button does not have its text filled out, other times the UI just does not respond. There is no crash dump to send.
As far as I can tell the launcher just stopped working on the morning of the 8th. The only thing that has updated on my PC recently was Steam. Even if I shut that down, though, it makes no difference.
EVE itself runs fine if I do not use the launcher.

I'm experiencing this too. Have tried to use the repair tool, removing all my CCP User data, running the eve.exe from it's install directory... nothing seems to work. |

I've got a similar issue - my launcher is not working since 1/8. I'm running version 2.1.655130.
I've tried running the Repair tool to no avail. |

TL;DR - re-installed eve online to fix launcher crashes
If it's any consolation, I had this issue with Launcher freezing and took the following steps:
- Restarted Laptop
- Ran repair tool
- Restarted again
- Ran repair tool again
- Tried to look for the short-cut direct to game to circumvent launcher (didn't exist any more from what I could see)
- Submitted support request
After 24 hours and two accounts already not training for around 20 hours I got bored and just re-installed the client.
- 2 minute to uninstall eve
- 10 minute download (5.54GB)
- 5 minute install (mainly extracting files)
- 30 seconds to have three accounts live and running... Priceless
When uninstalling, at the very end it will ask if you want to delete settings and cache data, I DID NOT DO THIS, and all worked fine. Situation may be different but just wanted to share my 2 cents.
