As far as I can tell the launcher just stopped working on the morning of the 8th. The only thing that has updated on my PC recently was Steam. Even if I shut that down, though, it makes no difference.
EVE itself runs fine if I do not use the launcher.
Same problem here ... noob question: how do you bypass the launcher to run the game? |

This is the way I have to launch EVE, they haven't fixed the launcher freezing yet. Every day, I run the repair tool hoping it downloads a fix. |

OK, Need some help soonest. Post Rubicon 1.1 patch my launcher kept giving me an error message about being unable to connect to the server. My connection is good. Tried to run repair tool. Got immediate error message. After running through the threads NONE of the patching issues appeared to apply. Uninstalled EVE. Could NOT get it to download automatically from the official page. Manually downloaded the offline files. It reinstalled but now I'm getting OFFLINE MODE error message. Ran repair tool again, same error message...if haver reinstalled numerous times...same issues returns. On top of that...when logged into support page to drop a ticket, it failed to send and appeared to simply hang up there...DOES ANYONE have any idea what train wrecked on my system and how to fix it

Why are you worrying about a webpage? who cares about the webpage. How about fixing what you guys obviously broke? I am posting everywhere I can, there are people just like me in the same boat. The game worked fine yesterday, now it doesnt. Nothing is wrong on my end. Now I cant even reinstall the damn game, I have explained in another thread to people asking questions, again, ITS NOT MY computer, its your patch. Roll it back or something, but first, I would sure love to know how I can reinstall a game, that I have to get from the internet, since I dont have any discs, and your installer is failing. Nothing any of these people have talked about is working, and I cant try anything even new, cause it wont install. Good job ccp. |

this is the error when the launch will not load up. cause most people to just use bin file to get into game. this happen to me several time i have to shut down relaunch servertimes

tried every work around in the book 3 days of sub money wasted due to not even being able to log in online installer times out requested help all it get told is run the repair tool that doesn't work have downloaded the damn client 16 times |

I noticed some people on the forums are having the same issue as me. When I log in and press "PLAY" from the launcher, nothing new opens (although it spawns a new exefile process). I tried launching the game directly from inside C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin: no luck (although that also spawns a new process). I tried the repair tool: no luck.
I also tried the launcher update download link that CCP posted above: no luck.
Finally, I gave in and tried uninstalling and reinstalling the client. Still no luck. I am running 64-bit Windows 7. This has been going on for at least a day or two now. Given the number of people having the same problems on the forums, it is clearly a problem with Eve, not with anything on my side. I respectfully request that CCP start focusing on this (doesn't seem like there has been much CCP response on the forums yet) and that those affected by it are reimbursed in both game time and skillpoints. We are paying good money to play this game, so please stop ignoring this problem and start taking it seriously. |

I managed to get onto Eve on another computer so I can update my training queues; I still lost days of training time though. And even more days have passed that I've paid for during which I can't play Eve... No response on petition or here on the forums... Paying >$200 a year for my two accounts I really expect a higher standard of customer service than this. |

I'm in the same boat. Have lost two days of training time by not being able to log in. Only thing done to my computer recently: I installed Skyrim, which required that I run through hoops to validate Steam (last time I used Steam for anything I had a different physical address, different IP address). Skyrim and Eve both were running just fine on my computer. Next day, launcher does not work. Type in pasword, click login, nothing happens. Reinstalling the launcher didn't fix the problem. The repair tool in Eve also did nothing. the bin/eve.exe trick looks promising, I'll try that next time I have some time at home. I also have a good install saved to a USB hard drive, but I haven't had the time to try a complete uninstall/reinstall from by backup copy. Been holding off on that as its about a month old (right after the most recent big expansion).
Oddly enough, I could not log into the forums from home either. Got a "waiting on (web address for forums)" message. Logged in from work computer just fine.

Confirming that today, I was able to log in to Eve finally. Logging in using C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\Eve\bin\ExeFile.exe is what did the trick for me. Clicking ExeFile.exe brings up the old once-familiar pre-launcher log in screen. Asks if you want to update. i clicked "no" and then i got an "incompatible version' error. Tried again, this time clicked "yes' to "do you want to update". That took me through about 40 mb of updating. Win update files and launcher updates. Ended up at the launcher screen again .. but this time it looked different (different background image). Better yet, this time launcher worked!

Yeah, and now today the launcher is not working again. Was working fine, until I tried to start the game today, and launcher loaded up a patch. After patching, launcher won't go into game. And now the exefile under the bin folder won't work either. Oddly enough, I also cannot log into the Eve forums from home now. When launcher is not working, I also cannot log into the forums (doesn't work in IE, Firefox and Chrome) But browsers seem to work fine otherwise and no other programs on my computer are acting strangely. Very odd.

Thanks to all who offered help. My Eve Launcher is now working better than ever! The two things I did: Downloaded newest version of Internet Explorer. I had stopped using IE as my personal browser, but apparently Eve prefers it. Once new IE was installed, I clicked on Internet Options and made sure eveonline.com was designated as a Trusted site, and I set security for eveonline.com at medium settings. I also adjusted a setting in Windows Firewall. Eve.exe was already listed as an allowed program. But where there are two options, private and public, most of my programs had both checked. Eve only had the "private" box checked. I added a "public" checkmark as well next to Eve. Now the launcher loads up like it's supposed to work. |

I had issues with launcher too. it freezes at the slide of the login fields or it said client validation att 33,4%
i fixed it by going to c:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\launcher\cache and remove browsercache checksums and client_validation. when i launched the eve launcher it started a new client validation and worked after that.
hope this helps somebody else.

I have issues with the launcher also. I have reinstalled the game twice. I have wiped my computer and still no fix have updated the repair tool. Ran the repair tool and still no fix the launcher still doesn't respond when I run it. I had no problems until now. I have not found a ESET file. |
