Ok, we all know that there is ALWAYS problemes after patch relese , there is nothing that we can do right now to change it until ccp wakes up tomorow morning in about 6 hours and reads all this and tries to find a solution, so we should just all sit tight and pray for the best........

I couldn't get in the game so I deleted the eve preferences folder from the library. That worked until I got DC'ed again and had the same issue of the game not loading, so I deleted the preferences again, worked for a while then I got kicked from the server again, rinse-repeat. I've done this about 5 times now. I give up.

same issue here - running os 10.6
deleting the preferences and re installing the client worked for a little while, but eventually froze up and left me in the same situation of opening the client only for it to quit a few seconds later. (before the splash screen even comes up)

Client runs fine, client gets disconnected or freezes, then NOTHING, clicking on EvE in dock gets 1 bounce and nothing after that.

Have you guys tried cleaning everything out and installing fresh? It cleared up alot of issues for me.

same here - freezes and discos, apparently at random. it's almost as if CCP never tested the mac client for more than two minutes, or tested on some insanely clean/no app/no use other than eve mac. that surely can't be the case..... but if they had tested for more than an hour or so with a normally configured working mac they would have seen what we are seeing. go figure.

-Socket error crash
-Random crash
-Another crash while I was afk for 3minutes
-Wouldn't start, up again... trashed prefs
-Spent 10 minutes setting overview and stuff back
-Ran fine for a while
-Crash while flying to a gate
-Network cable came unplugged accidentally (oops), game didn't crash, couldn't exit either. Had to force quit the whole thing.
-After force quit keeps getting stuck/crashing at character screen
-Can't be bothered with setting up prefs again so I'll just go to bed
10.6.2
PS the planets look nice, isk spammer button is awesome.

It took an hour to reinstall (doing other stuff too), but it was better than waiting; and so far it's running great and after a crash I could log back in, we shouldda started this before!

First log in was fine, then crash 10 minutes into game midwarp.
Second log in fails after character selection and loading into game - the bar gets to the end and then NOTHING.. black screen. Others see me come online but not into chat channels.
Fixed it: dumped entire preferences folder and log in was fine (and MUCH faster - pre Dominion log in took up to half an hour) Recommend anyone with no start/black screen issue try dumping pref folder before wasting time re-installing the entire thing again.
Another issue: CAPS LOCK problem. Still there. Still VERY annoying. Work around by typing elsewhere but that involves using it in windows mode which I am finding unstable and unreliable.
UPDATE: CRASH and back to the initial issue dammit! So dumping pref works for a short while but then no better off it seems...sigh

I have the same issue as Tegho and Malishious. 10.4.11 (I still use it cos' it runs Logic Pro 8 the most stable) - and I'm getting the icon animation when I click it, then nothing else. I hope this is just gonna be a temporary new patch thing and not CCP phasing out Tiger Macs.

happened to me 3 times as well. Throwing away the prefs gets old fast though. As always, CCP cant patch their game properly. Getting tired of it.

Two crashes on unibody Macbook (10.6.2) in a few hours :( And freezes espeacially when I open the People & Places window.
1st time had to kill the hung up Wineserver process before I was able to relaunch. Scrapped the Prefences after that but still lost the connection after one hour of so.
Wont be doing anything serious in the game before these are fixed.

Same problem here: several crash and CAPS LOCK problem also (that I have already post as a bug during test sessions).
Restarting:
Stray process with PGID equal to this dead job: PID 437 PPID 1 cider
and no eve window (just the menu on top).
I have now cleared the preferences but... OR CPP allow to save overviews and fittings server-side or i will get bored soon of remake overview, fittings and bookmarks every time.
SYSTEM: MAC OS X 10.5.8

I tried again, deleted all Eve related files, deleted ccp files, did a clean install, still client will not open, filed a bug report....

Same here. Running Tiger for professional reasons and the game won't load. The Console tells that Cider has crashed and upon looking at the Cider crash log I saw that it was due to an invalid kernel access.
Could this be a problem on Cider or has Tiger been phased out intentionally?
Could anyone with 10.5 or 10.6 check if Cider is crashing as well?
The log should be at /Users/<your user name>/Library/Logs/CrashReporter. Look for cider.crash.log.
To see if cider crashed during the attempt to launch EVE simply open up the Console.

In game, just after an undock, an alert window popped up saying something about "Transport disconnected". Should have wrote it down :( Client crashed, had to force quit.
After that client would not progress farther than the Dominion splash screen on launch. Trashed my ~/Library/Preferences eve folder. Seemed to fix the problem so far (10 minutes).

Have been playing all day on 2 chars. Suddenly after DT 1 char CTD's and then hangs in login screen.
Decided to put preferences of eve in trash. Now I get booted from the character login screen with a CTD.
Any idea's what to do now? Everything was ok now its crash crash crash.

Same problems as everyone else. I can log on w/ character, but in just a few seconds, it crashes. Tried the annoying preference clearing workaround to no avail. I'm going to schlepp around on my crappy PC lap top I guess 'til this gets fixed.

I downloaded the patch and it didnt work.
I read the above posts, deleted the preferences files and nothing happened.
I deleted the program (as per another above suggestion), downloaded the client again but still NOTHING happened. I mean nothing happened. I click on the icon and.....nothing: no splash, no video, no game, nothing.
I hope they fix this soon or im gonna lose alot of training time on my toon.

Same issues EVE hanging every 20 minutes to half hour. On logging back in it hangs just after character selection on entering game. I tried the delete preferences tip, but I cant get back in after the subsequent hangup unless I delete preferences again.
OS Snow Leopard.
