Gah, you made me fire up the ship fitting tool and try this out:
High: 1x Cruise Launcher 2x Heavy Launchers 2x Assault Launchers 2x Small Beam Laser
Medium: 10MN AB II Shield Recharger II 3x Active Omni Hardener (anyone know if these stack?)
Low: 1x Reactor Control Unit 3x Ballistic Control Unit
ex P-TMC
If you think you can do a better job, go find yourself a datacentre to host a box, get a copy of Visual Studio, and STFU.

Yes the omni's stack, but also get the penalty as ususal. I'd say you should replace them with 3 active hardners ---

those who uses 2 large shield exp t2 why dont u use 1 large shield t2 and a shield boost amplifier?
Takes alot less cpu and power..

HI - 5 HEAVY LAUNCHERS(NAMED) 2 SMALL NOS
MED- 2X LARGE SHIELD EXTENDER 2'S, 3X 50% HARDNERS(EM,KIN,THERM)
LO - 4 SHIELD POWER RELAY 1'S , usually always go for widowmakers and a mixture of drones and have no problem on lvl 3 missions at all

Never was a big fan of missile's, guns are more inline with my need of an instant gratification damage...

There's only one mission that I couldn't do in a battlecruiser. Infact I lost my Ferox yesterday to it. I can't remember off hand which one it was. Some merc mission. But normally I can run every mod forever while gunning down my enemies. But 99.9% of my skills maxed out.
I've found that the Caldari Navy has some decent level of difficulty in their agent missions.

I have figured out that most of the posted setups miss a good Cap recharge.
I have found a very good setup with low cap recharge. I you use this setup plz post some feedback of how it works.
High: 5 Malkuth heavies 2 Medium Dimishing Med: 1 Large Shield Booster t2 1 Shield boost Amplifier (which gives you a total of 320 boost from your shield booster) 3 Shield resistance (Em,thermal,kinetic, depends on what enemys Low: 1 Capacitator Power Relay 1 Capacitator Flux Coil 2 PDU
Even if I only have 1.5 mils skill points I get a Cap Recharge of 172sec. This works exellent and with lvl 3 Extra Vargazza and Silence the Info = No Problemo!
Try it out and post how it works for you.

Your flux coil reduces your overall cap and the power relay decreases shield boosting (what your using your cap to do) dump those for PDUs and/or damage mods ---

If I do I ruin my whole cap, and the only cap relay and flux coil makes so much better cap recharge and the fewer total cap + like 20 less shield boosting doesn't matter. With the shield boost amplifier I get a shield boost from my large shield booster |

After scrolling through the rest of the setups I thought I'd post mine.
Hi: 4x 250 named rails (Proto if you can afford them) 2x Heavy named (XR3200 all I can afford atm) 1x Arbalest Assault launcher (defenders/light missiles)
Mid: 1x Afterburner II 1x Large Shield Booster II 1x Webber 1x Passive Hardener (rat specific) 1x Active Hardener (rat specific)
Low: 2x PDU II (not needed for grid, but the shield and recharge bonuses are very nice) 2x Magnetic Stabilizer II
This is designed to fix the one problem I had been having with the Railox - namely the problem of getting reamed by intercepters. For intercepters, swap defenders for light missiles and you have 3 missiles hitting the inties, no matter how fast so long as you have the webber running.
I consider a missile slot for the assault launcher GREAT defense with defenders- you never have to stop to reload like the rocket launchers and there are too many missions where you see waves of missiles hitting you to absorb them with shield boosting.
This setup can run forever firing all weapons and with its one active hardener running with occasional shield boosting.
I really can't ask for too much more from this ship aside from me finishing up my skills to get the top shield/resistance bonuses.

i use my ferox as a shield tanker, it can can tank another brutix with all named / some t2 guns, long enough to nos its cap dry, also gr8 for npc missions, but with guns and not nos :

Highs: 5 x heavy missile launchers (using 1 arbalest and 4 xr-1000 2 x 200mm rails (1 scout and 1 proto)
Mids: 1 x large shield booster II 1 x large shield extender 2 x shield hardners (kinetic and thermal) * will add an EM for angel extravaganza missions 1 x 10mn ab (will take out for angel extravaganza missions)
Lows: 1 x co-processor II 2 x pdu II 1 x ballistic control
Drones: 4 medium and 2 light
As I have said, I have had absolutely no problems on lvl 3 missions using this set-up.
If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to let me know :)

how would you set up a ferox post-cold war patch? missiles now suck and i can't see them improving much due to the skills being so incremental, and my railguns now seem to miss at their optimal range, but hit sometimes over their optimal range?!

Huh? I used to use railguns pre-patch but now I've switched back to missiles! Once you have trained all the new skills your missiles should be a hell of a lot faster, able to hit at a much longer range, do more damage to above-frigate sized ships and you'll be able to get more into the air at any one time.
Correct me if I'm wrong, (I have only just got back to the game from a long break) but it seems to me that for a heavy missile user the new skills are fantastic.

why fit a afterburner? you cna put some extra hardeners on it or something else that makes your shield or ship stronger afterburner is just to have speed well its just not importand :)
but very very god fittings :P

This Gives me over 9000 shields with decent shield recharge. I get about the same amount as a Large shield booster with the natural recharge and the booster combined and never run out of cap. The energy drain works well on close flying frigates. The drones are important with the new missile changes and you need a launcher capable of launching light missiles or you will end up getting hit hard by the fast moving small ships. I haven't even had my armor scratched with this setup yet. This is with 6 mil skill points so some of you could probably squeeze Med Energy vamps with a Large shield booster. I haven't tried that yet but I want to.

I can fit the above configuration but I also have Engineering 5 and Electronics 5. The extra 25% you your CPU and Powergrid are probably the key. try using Malkuth heavy Launchers as they use less CPU than the standards. Also, if you don't have it get weapon upgrades up to 4 as well. Also Energy grid upgrades to 4 wouldn't hurt either.
