What I want to know is why you guys at CCP spent 6 months designing this. EVE is a game about internet spaceships. That is what EVE offers over other games, and thus, that is why people play EVE and not other games, especially as it's so expensive in comparison (but that's a totally different matter) I don't see the logic, therefore, behind not furthering the spaceship side of the game but instead being complete sell-outs and putting your time and resources into a useless feature that serves no purpose and adds NOTHING to gameplay other than playing Spaceship Barbie. You could have added a few new ships. You could have added a few new missions. You could have fixed drone behaviour, given us a capacitor readout, rebalanced hybrid turrets, etc. Instead, what do you give us? You give us fixes on things that were never broken (why agents are now listed alphabetically I'll never know) and useless features that give nothing to the game. Spaceship Barbie adds nothing to the gameplay. It lets you walk around a room putting different clothes on.
On top of that, the Noble Exchange prices simply have to be trolling. I mean, really? 12000 Aurum for a monocle. 12000. If each PLEX is 3500 Aurum, that's 3 and a bit PLEX, which in ISK, is over a bil. Over a bil of ISK for a monocle that looks 2D and pretty crappy anyway. What is the point? You've wasted 6 months and I want to know who decided to design this crap rather than furthering the spaceship side of the game, which pretty much IS the game.

Just to chime it over the threadnaught (90+ pages, 200K+ reads) ... well done CCP. You've managed to yet again underestimate the community's will, intelligence and long memory.
Although there where other pressing issues with Incarna, the NeX pricing (which also probably prompted the newsletter leak) is central to the community's anger. It goes incredibly beyond reasonable bounds that I'm wondering whether there had been any due diligence done towards the pricing structure. Someone completely and utterly failed here.
Now, it's also plausible that you're trolling the playerbase to gauge their response to the pricing structure. My response, don't stir the hornet's nest unless you're willing to pay the price for it. There are plenty other avenues where this can be tested or discussed in a positive note.
It's very easy to lose trust and respect - you will face an uphill battle trying to regain it back. Everyone in CCP management or positions of influence should have been keenly aware of this from day one .... and yet you still show glaring incompetence, mirroring the new forums fiasco several weeks back.

As a capsuleer that often read, but rarely post on this forum, i'm today adding my voice to the concerns expressed here by New Eden pilots. Most issues that CCP needs to answers (Mostly upon resources assigned to 'in-space' features development, bug fixes & game balance, Vanity-only MT) have been raised better than i could do.
As many others, i will have a close look at CCP answer, since we're never been so close of breaking the promise of what's been defining New Eden, easily comes to mind :
- Long standing goals for capsuleers Vs Instant wins
- Player driven Vs NPC economy.
CCP, don't alienate your fellow customer base, the ones playing for a long time, paying monthly for multiples accounts by aiming for a short-term, profit-driven approach.

I think the underlying root cause issue that has been festering for a long time and keeps fueling the feelings we see displayed over and over again with each patch, release, update or whatever is this:
CCP's vision for EVE as a total SciFi experience has not been bought into by the majority of the playerbase and they are kicking and screaming every step of the way. With each step that gets closer to that vision the emotional backlash hits a new level.
Speaking just for myself, I'm probably one if the few that wants more than an Internet spaceships game. My only issue with the new release are the prices on the vanity items. (oh and the lighting in CQ needs some tweaks and perhaps one last free character remodeling opportunity.)

Originally by: CCP Pann Edited by: CCP Pann on 24/06/2011 00:50:29 Hi, everyone
Some of you who have been around for a while may remember me. I was the original community manager for EVE. These days, I oversee the PR and Community teams. While most of what I do happens behind the curtains, I am still aware of whatÆs going on front and center. I would be lying if I said that whatÆs happening now didnÆt make me sad, but IÆm not here to ask for your sympathy. To be perfectly honest, IÆm here to buy time while we try to sort things out. No sense in lying about it so I'll call a spade a spade.
ItÆs clear that many of you are <understatement alert> angry </alert>. ThereÆs a lot happening, things are changing quickly and we havenÆt been as forthcoming as you were used to in the past. IÆm willing to step out front and take a lot of heat for that since I was the one who made the decision to hold off on responding for a while to see if things cooled down once the new wore off. I was wrong to do that and I apologize. We should have said something much sooner. We should have done more to address your concerns and be forthcoming, even if we werenÆt going to be able to immediately give you all of the answers you were looking for or the answer your questions in ways that will instantly turn those frowns upside down. To be even more candid, I cannot answer all of your questions, either, but I am working with the people who can to start getting those answers for you. Again, I know weÆre doing this past the expiration date of your patience but I hope youÆll bear with me. I know that, with very few exceptions, most of you donÆt know me from Adam. I havenÆt earned your trust or respect; therefore I have no right to ask anything of you û but I am going to try, anyway. Can I please count on at least some of you to help bring the pitchforks and torches down a few notches?
Like I said, I wonÆt be able to answer all of your questions tonight, but I promise weÆll start getting some info out tomorrow. As I see it, the chief complaint is regarding the high cost of goods in the Noble Market. Second, many people are unhappy about the CaptainÆs Quarters. Third, there are some performance issues with Incarna. I would appreciate it if you would confirm my observations or tell me what IÆm missing, but I do ask that you do it in a productive way. I will remove posts without prejudice if they are counterproductive to the conversation I hope to have with you.
If youÆve read this much, thanks for staying with me. If you have something to say, IÆd like very much to hear it.
Humbly yours, ~P~
*edited to fix a "doh!" typo
how the hell can we trust anything that you guys say anymore, your CEO for all intent and purposes think that we are the gravy boat to fund everything that CCP is doing, you aint rocked the gravy boat, your past a 45 incline and the gravy ' ie the players ' is going away.
NOBODY CARES ABOUT MT, WE WANT RID OF THEM
AND IF YOU DO KEEP THEM, IF FOR ANY REASON YOU START BRINING IN NON-VANITY ITEMS, THEN START LOOKING FOR ANOTHER JOB, BECAUSE THE PLAYER BASE WILL VANISH AND YOU WILL HAVE A SHELL OF WHAT WAS ONCE GLOURIOUS.

BTW CCP if you even bother reading this, this player uprising is worse than the one SOE had when introduced the NGE to SWG. This is way worse. I should know I was there and was playing SWG, I even beta'd the NGE. As bad as this is, I'd be answering some questions sooner rather than later, later is way to late.

Originally by: Milkmy Sausage PLease guys, if you have multiple accounts please cancel what you can afford to and make your voice heard, it's the only way CCP will listen.
These are my comments form my subscription cancellation
'The recent leaked memo refers to the potential for the AUR store thing to be used to purchase ships, items etc etc. PLEX was bad enough and we just about let that slide. This is now no longer acceptable. I am cancelling this account until CCP confirm that they will not allow AUR or any other currency, (aside from ISK) to be used for microtransactions that affect gameplay. I have no problem with vanity items (provided they can be recovered by other parties via podding/ship destruction) but allowing anything that enables people to obtain an in game advantage is wholly unfair and ruins the existing reward system in eve. You may as well just come straight out and sell SP if you're going down this route. I'm absolutely disgusted you even considered this. I thought CCP were better than this. For info this account represents half of my total subscriptions. If we do not get confirmation by 13th July that AUR will only ever be used for vanity items then I'm cancelling my other account as well'
Why not just demand these 'virtual goods' will become ISK sinks. Have them put it up in stations. To be honest, after 5 years of development all we got was a room and some expensive wardrobe items, I'd say they're paid for anyway.
At this point the damage is done. AUR needs to go, anything less won't matter anyway. Words are just that, words. Certainly in CCP's case.
Because I accept that CCP need to make extra revenue and vanity items as ISK sink won;t do it. so to that effect AUR is a necessary evil, the way I see it is that if it;s vanity items only then there's no harm. I'm willing to give CCP something so I'll let AUR slide provided it can;t affect gameplay

Soundwave SHOULD be fired, but not for this in isolation. For everything he's been pushing through for the last half year which is ill-conceived, badly implemented, and has screwed over the player base.
As spiritual lead of BFF, I can tell you that he has NO friends in alliance level logistics after the harebrained, idiotic, pointless JB changes. He has done more to harm the rank-and-file EVE players than anyone else, by increasing the general tediousness of the game - things that you, CCP, should be working to remove.
This is merely the last in a long line of events which have proven him to be acting in the worst interests of players. And when this is pointed out to him, what does he do? The same thing CCP always does in the face of complaints about staggeringly stupid and overwhelmingly unpopular changes: Sweet **** All.
START LISTENING TO YOUR INCOME STREAM
This is about so much more than aurum.
It's about how shocking CQ is after 5 years of development. How pointless it is. How annoying it is to have it forced on us. How terrible the performance is. How much it breaks the immersion - I'm standing in a station getting messages saying I have to be in a pod to do various industrial actions. It's about you guys wanting to charge $99 for other people to do your job and make your game playable. It's about how you made the game more-tedious for most people with the JB changes. You made the game less fun to play, and you did it intentionally. It's about how you don't listen to player feedback. It's about how you ignore the things we want done (the CSM topics such as blops improvements, POS improvements, docking radii changes) and instead force upon us stuff that we don't want and never asked for. It's about how you've broken the game with supercarriers that you STILL HAVEN'T FIXED. It's about how you've broken the game with rampant botting which permits the purchase of the supercarriers above. It's about how you've killed nullsec industry. It's about how unbalanced technetium is, which caused the "problem" of leviathan alliances in the north. And how often you were told it was going to be a problem. It's about how you made Dust PS3 only, tying players to a company which has shown a staggering disregard for data protection
Most of all, it's about how you don't give a **** about any of the above.
Not empty quoting.

Edited by: Jedi GrandMaster on 24/06/2011 11:55:57 So u decided not to reply to the outrage witnessed after initial release.
Then u post a lame-ass post saying sorry for not communicating. You either puposefully miss the overwhelmig drive of the complaints, and try to frame it as 3 small problems completely ignoring the majorities outcry.
You say you'll come back with info and answer our questions then go practically M.I.A. since ur post.

CCP for the love of whatever you really need to start thinking properly
Why ban Helicity? It is clear that Helicity loves this game much more than anyone else and is prepared to go to great lengths to see it secure.
Do you guys honestly think that if you increase sub fees by $10 and explain to us that you are in financial trouble and prefer to ask that of us instead of MT, people would rage and not understsand? I bet you my account that most people will say "Here CCP, here is $10 for the excellent game you made"
But no. . . :((

They won't give you a straight answer.
They can't, they refuse to, come out and say: "We will never do non-vanity MTs!!"
What do you suppose that means? That an evil warlock has put a spell on them, preventing them from telling us what we want to hear?
Or that CCP management has told them not to promise anything, lest they break their promises?
The newsletter is very clear, and there have been no denials.
