No it doesn't.

...No

So I like went to the store, by my estimation now it is 6 pm in Iceland, so where is our response? Where is our promised response?
Did it fall between the We'll fix the mines and We'll fix faction warfare?

Originally by: "Page 11, 4th Paragraph" On the opposite end of the scale to vanity goods are performancebased items such as weapons. They are consumed through gameplay, making them a potentially powerful source of renewable income. Selling them for real money is very tempting. They are highly desired by the player audience and yield lower development costs, as variation can be achieved through numbers rather than unique art assets. Selling them though, is highly controversial. We are planning on doing so.

Edited by: Draconus Lofwyr on 24/06/2011 18:07:23 CCP, 165 pages and all we have heard from in the PR flacks ( while I respect them putting on the asbestos panties to take some heat ) PR is Public Relations. Were not the Public, were a part of the game and paying members. The EvE playerbase is hopping mad, and demands someone in CCP that CAN answer questions, not just take the royal turd and polish it into something shiny to throw at the masses.
You have been hyping WIS for years, and finally reveal Walking in a circle. Incarna, they most useless fluff major update ever released by CCP, (oh, you slipped a few nerfs/buffs in there, but nothing that meant a damn). A lot of people are surprised at the prices of the NeX products, sold for Arum, a totally useless additional money system in order to force plex sales. You "accidental" let slip your fly a few months back on SISI with the revelation of "microplex's" there was a massive outcry, as no one wanted microtransactions. So you felt the best thing was not to scrap the idea, but to rename it, yeah, a turd by a new name smells oh so much better.
1 plex = 1 mans shirt = 1 navy faction BS. um, CCP, what the hell is this shirt made out of? does it come with a reacharound? a pair of boots are currently selling on the market for just shy of 200 mil isk, (the real WTF there is at least 3 people actually bought them, and are selling them for less than the plex would go for). I think i now understand what happened to the Icelandic economy, You people have no fracking clue how an economy works.
CCP, we are long overdue for an explanation, a REAL explanation, we are calling the leadership on the carpet. its time for some real accountability, no more polishing the turd. give it to us straight. If your plans and desires for this game cant withstand the scrutiny of the client base, then you really should be rethinking the plans and desires.
There are way too many things people have been demanding (see the declining playerbase posted earlier via eve-offline) that would increase your bottom line with subscribers, without resorting to airline tactics. Were here to play a game and enjoy a community, not get fleeced by the concessionaires at the clothing store.

I seem to have missed it, what was the big deal with the Ishkuone Scorpion? Something about how you can only spawn it from the nex store and that'll screw with the min market?
Couldn't they just have it spawn a BPC into your hangar, like the ones you get from LP?
Materials: 1 Scorpion Produces: 1 Ishkuone Watch Scorpion
Sounds like pretty bad coding if they can't do that.

Edited by: Talin on 24/06/2011 18:10:56 You know whats funny CCP. I supported CQ, and even Micro-transactions, I didnt/dont have any problem with them. However I do now. I was fine with CQ's being launched without Establishments, that was in till I found out ONLY ONE CQ was coming despite everything you said before, and with little to no validation for the reason behind the delay/half promise broken or a time frame in which you would be getting them out to us.
I was fine with Micro Transaction's when I thought they would be reasonable. When I though we would get more for our AUR becouse of the expendable nature of the EVE universe. The Idea spending multiple AUR on one pair loseable item is just perposterus. Now if they came in a bulk of items that could be split off and sold I was all for, or kept in that off chance you get podded. That I was behind... this though... what you have given us... it's a travisty to your customers CCP.
What's even worse is that we are willing to work with you, but instead what we get is silence, complete and other silence. This thread will probably be on 172 before this is posted, and I started it at 166. So far you have said nothing! If there was ever a day to brake the logic fallacy of 'Ignore it and it will go away', this is the time.
An Nothing, NOTHING, has been said by you guys.
I'm not sure its worth sticking around for either anymore. Regardless I just want to say, you let me down CCP, I've been here since this game was nothing more they pretty pictures and Forums, with a bunch of Corporations vieing for fictional power by way of member count and reputation. I can say I remember fantastic Corps. like Karth Imperium, Endless Corp and many others.
This is a sad way to see my time in EVE end, if I so chose to end it here.
What's even more pathetic is that the only reason I'm bothering to post this, is because I don't want to see my home be demolished. We owe you allot CCP, but you owe us more.

Now IÆm not going to go overboard, I do understand that it was an internal newsletter that was meant to stimulate some sort of debate in the future direction of EVE and CCP. Debate is good, itÆs part of the process of science and democracy and helps stimulate progress. What I take offence at is that the opinions and feelings of the players are being largely ignored. CCP as a company knows very well the opinion of the playerbase regarding MT. TheyÆve heard it from the forums and from the CSM and and from every other outlet. ItÆs no secret how the vast majority of us are against MT. Why go to the trouble of creating a CSM when on the bigger issues you ignore their opinions and concerns? Why do you tell the players that their opinion matters you and that we can in some way shape and influence the future direction of the game when push comes to shove you largely ignore us and worse take us for granted? For a company that seems to pride itself on listening to their players, seem to, at best they pay lip service to the concerns of their customers.
I understand that EVE has to change and evolve that Incarna is part of that evolution and that given time it will enrich the experience of the game. That is so long that it is more than skin deep and offers some unique and challenging gameplay. Incarna in itÆs current form has offered very little and I have to question why it was released at all. It offers nothing other than a new way to gaze at your avatar. ItÆs nice to look at, but so what? ItÆs what I can do with it that really counts, and in itÆs current form that is nothing at all but sit on a couch and that was enjoyable for all 5 seconds. Yes, EVE is a special game, but itÆs not so special that I wonÆt go elsewhere and find some other game to sink my teeth into. Please remember that Everquest was once a special game for me too until a couple of bad expansions ruined it. It takes a lot to make games special but it takes only a small thing to ruin it for players. CCP has been lucky with it enemies so far. ItÆs a niche game that has faced very little competition. But itÆs inevitable that one day a game will come along will challenge EVE for dominance. The question is what state will EVE be in when that day happens. I fear that opening the doors to MT is the first step on the road to the decline of EVE as it takes away itÆs integrity and is one step on the road to pay to win. Imagine two chess grandmasters playing chess and one paying $50 to turn his pawns into queens, what was once a great spectacle is now a farce.

I will quit if the game is no longer fun.
At the moment, I honestly don't see the difference between using plex (bought with money) to spend on game winning items (implants) vs spending real life money to spendon game winning items (new ships / ammo / faction standing).
Still, epic rage thread is epic.

Well, I've been playing for about 6 years now. Every expansion has made the game better up until Apocrypha, then it has had a feeling of going down slowly. I hate to hop on the "fix stuff and stop adding features" bandwagon, but they do have a point. Especially when Devs can't bother to show up for the FW roundtable, you sort of throw out your own argument that you want to ensure quality in features that you already supply to the game.
With this expansion, it just seems way worst. In the past you ensured us that you weren't gonna go down the route of selling SP, or anything that gives a advantage over someone else for RL money. However the current path is that of one that would sooner or later lead down that path. If it doesn't start with SP for $, when does that start?
I've read the leaked article, despite it being more about opinions on the future. Where does it end? If you start giving out ammo, ships, standings for $, when are you gonna start offering SP for money? Even if someone from the top tells us that would never happen, that's not good enough, you've already started to show us you have thought of doing it and possibly willing to do it.
The other problem is the walking in stations. It's very awesome feature, but your also taking away a big part of the game for a lot of people that makes EvE, EvE for them. Being able to sit in your ship and look down on the entire station in it. It makes you feel immortal, above all others. When you take away the ship in station, your not giving us something new. Your taking away something that got us into internet spaceships in the first place. It isn't about having trouble adjusting to change, it's about you taking away what makes the game EvE to us. It may sound silly and a small thing, but it's really a big part of the game to us.
You have a great game, and the reason it is successful now is because you've attracted a group of people who enjoy it. However the current trend is that you want to attempt to attract new groups of people to the game. That isn't bad, however that doesn't work in the long run. You end up alienating the group that made you successful in the first place. The game is already a complex place, but your attempting to make it impossible to get to feeling that made us come to the game in the first place by changing everything.
It's serious internet space ships. Keep it like that.

Yes, that was pretty much the issue: in the current incarnation, the NeX store can only handle AUR as payment, so the proper way of doing it ù like you describe, with AUR+Scorp ù isn't possible.
As a result, if they wanted to test it, it would have had to been AUR → Pile of minerals currently in the form of a Special-skinned Scorp. And it's that "pile of minerals" bit that was the problem. After some yelling, they decided that they would postpone the test and the introduction of the IW Scorp until they had finished coding the NeX. ùùù ôWe want to try this thing called micro-transactions, but we don't know what it is. Can anyone explainà aw screw it, let's just do it! What could go wrong?ö ù ÇÇP |
