Ive found the Brutix difficult to get a decent setup for tanking or damage. I was running a middle setup with 6 200mm rails. AB, painter and 2 cap rechargers in the mids, and repairer, 2 active hardeners and 2 PDUs in the lows.

I dont think a maximum damage setup would work in this situation. Going all out tank would be better, and the Prophecy and Ferox have the resist bonuses to help.

I got this mission again last night, those missiles in the second area were doing 153 thermal damage to my shields, and thats with ferox base thermal resist (20%) + battlecruiser lvl3 (+15%) + 50% thermal hardener.

I thought l3s were sposed to be doable by a t1 cruiser, needing a heavily tanked bc just doesnt make sense to me.

Well it happend to me too. Got scrambled and lost my BC. I finished it in a dominix, but it was bugged. I didn't got reports as the Officers quarters were undestructible.
I don't feel this is a wrong mission for level 3. Wether you get smarter and do finish it in a BC or you start testing your BS for Level 4 missions.

lol yeah the mission is insane, very chalenging.
I went in with my wolf and mate with a bb, we took the 1st stage slowly but surly, withme being the damage dealer and he jamming some,

2nd stage worped in and 4 sentrys started pounding ,next 40 sec i am try to survive, worping out with 20% structure, tried it 2 more timees levl 2 but couldnt stand a chance, just got choped by sentries. I hear some guys got scrambled, lol didnt even know that i guess igotlacky, as my AC set up has hard time hiting above 6k range ;Pp

best advice skeep themission unless you have a BC or BS orsome insane tactics ;pLaughing

The officers quarters is a spawn container, you can open it like a jet can, there is no need to destroy it.

When I noticed it was a normal container, I wondered if it would be possible to sneak in with a frigate. At least they are cheap.....

I don't think you'll be able todo that, as you need to destroy the npcs on the second area.

I did it today in my thron without much issue...the first stage is standard stuff IMO, you just have to watch for scramblers (i had 2 right on top of me in both gates, just launch drones on them right when you arrive, and fly to a hitting distance if you have your guns set to a high shot distance)...at the 2nd gate, launch drones to take out the scramblers, fly quickly opposite the direction of the sentries and take out the cruiser rats. I noticed that there are 2 gun sentries (which can hit you the same even at 190KM distance), and 2 heavy & nasty missile sentries. In my case, the sentries missiles vanished at 78-79KM so i'd simply angle my orbit around them individually at 82KM and take them out without taking a single hit. With them out of the way, the gun sentries are easy...
Got it right on my first try and with a rather crappy rig too, you just gotta pay attention to this one more than the usual ones, IMO...Cool

I've done this mission quit a few times in my Jag/Wolf. I did however lose my wolf last night, as the spawn was slightly different and I didn't notice. I just fly past the first part, and usually kill the turrets first in the second part. The difference this time was that one of the inties webbed/scrambled me and orbited at 1.5km (I had 4x280's equiped Crying or Very sad).

I did manage to pull some trickery and get my Gistii SB out using a Stiletto, but it wasn't easy. This mission has been very easy for me in the past when the inty didn't web/scramble. I would still say it is my favorite lvl 3 mission because it can be completed pretty quickly and gives as much LP as the AE. I just have to make sure to kill the inty first, and am probably gonna equipe a warp core stab. for this mission rather than my gyro Very Happy

So far I did this mission once using a Retribution and it was a piece of cake. Though the Heavy Missile Sentries seemed to be pretty dangerous for cruisers. My hint: Do all lvl 3 missions in an Assault Frig. They're cheaper than a BS and do the job almost as nicely, plus they're much more fun to fly.

I did this mission with relative ease in a maller. It is the hardest lvl 3 mission that I've encountered though.

You just need a solid tank.
