Just completed the mission in my Ferox, was quite tough but I didn't actually have to warp out once. I think I may have been lucky though, the Guristas are easier to tank and I only came up against one interceptor on the second stage.

If I hadn't had the shield resists that I did (74.5% Kinetic and 66% Thermal) then there's no way in hell I would have managed. Even with those resists, a large shield extender, and large shield booster those turrets on the second stage had me down to 16% shield. If they had breached the sheild then the armour and hull would have gone in seconds.

I would only do it again if it was Guristas, if it's Angels then I'll leave it.

BTW, I only have about 1.9 million skill points, and about 1 million of them are in learning skills. I wouldn't really recommend anyone tries it with less.

Managed to complete it in an enyo with a couple warp outs, evil evil sentries.... but if i can do it in a frig, you surely should be able to range the sentries and then pick off the cruisers in a Battlecruiser? :)

You don't need missile defence. The only thing that hurts are light missle sentries because they have an evil damage mod. Heavy and Cruise bounce off.

The Guristas version of this mission was ridiculously easy in my Megathron, where I had the following setup:

7x 250mm rails (most tech2) w/antimatter and tungsten ammo, for ranges
1x large SB

1x named webber, 1x tech2 target painter, 1x cap recharger 2, 1x heavy cap injector w/800 charges
2x large named armor reps, 4x active hardeners (2 kinetic, 2 thermal), 1x cap relay

9x Ogres

I never had to warp out, and never had to use the cap injector. In fact, I really didn't need to use the armor repairers all that much.

EW people EW....one racial jammer of the proper type can jam that inty 75% of the time or more, hell it'll even have a decent chance to jam the cruisers.

I have been flying level 3 missions in a domi trying to build standing to open up a level 4 and I always have at least 2 racial jammers on the thing.

One of the biggest things I've found out is that if you jam a ship succesfully a number of times they will try and fly out of your jamming range, this works great for scrambling frigates as they will attempt to fly out of your targeting range, that leaves you free to fight or flee, plus it reduces the damage you take by that one ship. It can often make things go a lot smoother.

If you web that inty, hit him with the target painter, and sic your drones on him, he'll go pop so fast you'll barely notice he was there.

From all accounts there are at least two versions of this mission. One with Guristas, and one with Angels (which, from the sound of things is harder) . I haven't seen the Gurista version, but I did see the angel one and at the second deadspace pocket, barely had time for "wtf!?!"

I can see how this mission might be trouble for a cruiser or BC, but any decent battleship pilot should be able to walk right over it. Took me 10 minutes round trip in my Phoon and tanking was never an issue. Lvl 4 missions hit much harder Razz

    Of course! Very Happy

The whole point of doing this is to get the LP up to right about 15k quickly, and wait for the Military Connections skillbook offer. The same Megathron setup also does lvl 4 missions.

Not done too many missions despite having some standings from a while back.

Tried a lvl 3 and this was the first one I got. To do it quicker, I was using my alt with me. Since my alts Zealot wasn't around had to settle for a Sacrilege.

Tanked everything in the sac without issues. 2 cap chargers, 2 cap relays, 800 plate, med rep II and 1 hardner thermic.

While it sat there tanking, sent in my rax to kill the launchers.

Its doable in a sac/zealot/prophecy solo. Just gotta get the right tank I guess. And kill the inty first.

BTW, Gurista frigs in missions are bugged. Heavy Missiles hit them for FULL dmg.

I got this (in)famous mission for the first time a few days ago, did it in an Enyo... but for the first time in a long time, I had to warp out with a smoking ship, and had to do it twice. Very Happy After the second time, went back to station and exchanged a magstab II for a reactive plate II, after that things were easier. For some reason, I found the second stage eaier than the first, maybe it was just the (now) increased expl resists.

But yes, this is a tough mission. I have about 20m skillpoints and know how to fly my Enyo, and still I almost lost the ship. This is much closer to a lvl4 mission than a lvl3 (the one I did was the Angel one). Have to say it was a lot of fun though, and I would do it again. But for a relative newbie -- phew, they will come home in a pod if they take this on solo without proper preparation.

In case it helps, my setup for soloing this was (Enyo):

    high: 4 x 125mm II, limos standard launcher w/lights
med: 1mn AB II, fleeting webber
low: small rep II, cpr, adaptive nano II, reactive plating II
