Done the Guristas version of this several times in a Sacrilege with no trouble. The key to the second stage is to get rid of the pesky scrambler while approaching the sentry guns. They do more damage the further you run from them.

I'm using a retributiuon like u, and did this mission 2 or tree times. It's the only mission that forced me to warp out. Basically it's better go directly to sentries and destroy one ot 2 of them and ignoring NPC's. Once killed 2 sentries u can tank with no problem the others.

Angel Version: L3 Spy Stash
Stage 1:
If you have the speed and shields -make a run for the gate, but you may not have the firepower or tank to deal with the second stage sentry guns and heavy missile batteries. No loot of value on first stage. If you attack any of the light missile batteries, everything will agro you. Good deal tho, if you can drop 1 or 2 sentry guns before everything is within range, you can warp out and all is forgiven. Come back in and deal with the npcs and the last light missile battery.

Stage 2:
I hope you have something big, that can run a fantastic tank like a prophecy or ferox. Cyclones and Brutixs tend to get shot to pieces by the sentries/hmbatteries -or so I've gathered. The big concern is being able to drop the sentries/hmbatteries while under attack as everything agro's you at once when you warp in. Sadly, If you have a battleship, brining it in with short range ammo and good tank, drop the sentries/hmbattiers, then warp out to bring in a ship that can beat up on the npcs.

Stage 1: Can be done with interceptor/af or up.
Stage 2: BC -with right setup- or BS to take out sentries. Yep, you'll have to warp out 1 or 2 times.

Yeah, the mission is a pain in the keester, but do-able with the right tactics.

Is there any way to confine this mission to high quality L3 agents or is it like that already?

I've been doing missions for over a year. I've been able to Solo L4's in a Megathron since they were released. Over the last few months I havent done many, decided to move on and do different things. Then I decide to start work for the Carthum Conglomerate so I can use more Research Agents. Finally, get my standing so I can use a L3 Q-17 agent. The FIRST mission he gives me is this. Take in my appropriately kitted out Prophecy, manage the first section with some warping out. Arrive in second section, and just as I take the first turret down I loose just over HALF my armour from one hit (or a combination of hits). By the time I click warp to my aligned planet i'm in a Pod.

Seriously CCP, making tough missions is all well and good, we all need something to keep us on our toes... but that was just plain ridiculous.

Anyway. Now I've vented. Wish I'd read this first. Seems L4 missions arent the only ones which got made more difficult.

I have had this mission on a few occations, and I just wanna say congratulations CCP! Finally a fun lvl 3 mission, I do them cause I think lvl 4s takes such a long time, so it was great to finally have a bit of fun. I run these in HAC and am having the time of my life!

I FINALLY solo'd the lvl 3 spy stash last night in an enyo
and I must have warped a dozen times

the only mission or series to ever give me as much or more trouble is the angel strike sequence

basicly double up on my tank, pick a sentry, tank the incoming dmg, shoot the crap outta it, warp out
repeat as needed till I could tank the dmg without cap issues, picking off anything that prevented warp outs
repair hull dmg as needed

Yep, I love this mission in my ret. Great bounties, and if i need, i can just cheat my way to the end with the gates not locked.
But as Aion said, go small, not bigger. BC and BS are taking full damage from everything in there. A small armor rep 2 can keep up with all the damage dealt by the rats. before the missle change, this mission would have been impossible, just due to the damage of heavies. iirc, some of the rats have a 2.5 or 3X dmg modifier.

My current agent is a lvl 3 ql 19 agent. I've run every single mission he's ever thrown at me with a Retribution. On rare occasions I have to actually warp out but it doesn't happen often. I'm run that new hub mission, I've run the new spy stash mission. All I can say is, my ship is still in one piece and they aren't. I've had amazingly less trouble running level 3 missions in a AS then I did when I ran them (with another character) in a BC.

It seems that most people who have done this have been in Assault ships and Battleships? Has anyone completed the second part of this (against Angels) in a crusier? If so, can you give me some ideas towards your setup? thanks.

Ive done the angel version 2 times in a Vexor. Its hard but its doable. I can barely fire a gun so i rely on my drones. Therefore i have a good tank and dual 150mm guns.

4 * Dual 150mm Railguns

10mn Afterburner
2 * Cap Rechargers

800 Steel Plate
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane
Explosives Hardener
Medium Armor Repairer

This is all tech 1 nonnamed stuff since i tend to get blown up a lot :)

With this setup you should have time to take out the frigs before having to warp out. I warped out 2-3 times more before i had them all down.

A good tank with a cheap 800mm plate, 2 passive hardeners and a med rep t1, on a vexor?
Relying on drones without any web?
Get serious please.

As you cannot quite tank that much damage on a brutix given its useless repair bonus, you're better going for damage.
Life is much easier in a ferox.

Anyway range is an issue, and i find that mission to be much profitable (read possible) with an alt in a caracal safely spamming missiles by my side.

Who can resist 2k lp?

I have done that mission now several times in my Brutix. It is not that hard, when you know how to do it.

1st stage: when you pick targets in the right order you get the NPC rats in two sets. the sentries i kill last, because all remeinding rats attack you when shooting the sentrys.

2nd stage: Thats the hard part if you do it wrong. It can be done by killing one target (a sentry) and warp and that several times. Its just boring long to travel back all again over the 1st stage. The best tactic working for me is to enter stage two and just travel away from all the sentrys. I have to tank all of them, but this is possible, I use 2x explosiv hardener + t2 med armor rep. (the expl hardeners are really needed for tanking the sentry missiles) If iam nearly out of my targeting range i hit one sentry or rat. All rats will come to me, but a few more km and iam out of missile battery range. Now i kill all the npc rats. (mostly in range with 250mm rails+drones) when rats are down its easy to travel back and blast one sentry after the other.

That way i usually dont have any need to warp out.

I've done this mission many times.. I use a megathron.. and the first time I was in and out no problem.. the 2nd time I had shot 1 of the turrets before cleaning out the rats in the 1st stage.. thats a very bad idea. All 25 rats came at me not sure how many where warp scramblers.. but I was scrambled and lost my bs before my drones could take out all the scramblers.

I've done it plenty times since and havn't had any issues.. as I dont shoot the turrets untill I've taken out the front waves of rats 1st. But should you find all the rats heading your way.. get rdy to warp out :P I have a l t2 and med t2 arm reps and 3 eulectic crs and I couldnt keep up (and I rarely use my large arm rep). I don't know if it's a bug where they all rush you.. but beware.. I did try it again and got them all to rush me.. and being prepared was able to take everything on, but if you do it once and it's a breeze.. don't get lax or your end up like I did.

Those useing bcs will probably find themself in the same shoes I'm in with lvl 4 missions.. I dont have all the proper skills yet do them ALL solo. Train up for your targeting and med spec gunnery skills.. your engineering that helps with cap recharge rates.. and skills that revolve around tanking, and you should be fine.. of course you may find yourself warping out a couple times till you get a pattern down.. like the post above me.. get out of range of turrets while you take out the frigs is always a good idea.. I think its the best tactic for complexes too.
