To whomever finds my ship drifting in space after I leave for work in 1 minute I ask this, as you loot my debris please don't shoot the pod...
... gee she really was a pretty ship.
sigh.

The IP that has 100% packet loss has been idenified already on the thread underneath this one, lets hope it doesnt take a week again for CCP to decide to bridge it..

Yup funny how my ISP will get blamed...
I doubt it - from the trace routes posted here, it's something at CCP's end. I suspect a bust router, loose cable, broken switch etc.
They probably have redundant equipment, but there's always a way that something can break even with that in place - eg dual simultaneous failures, or partial failures which stop something realising things aren't working properly etc.
There's a saying - 'poo happens' - I'm sure CCP would rather it didn't, but it does occasionally - and always at a time when it's inconvenient for customers and even more inconvenient for staff, in the middle of the night.

Originally by: yanshi umm... and i'm paying for what? wtf? can't they move that stupid ass server to another location? like say.... NOT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BOONIES in a god forgotten country? move it to US somewhere, or england. u know. where internet tends to work more reliably. i don't see US games going offline after i played 2 years of ENB. they had their problems too. but not like these. and that's AFTER a one hour downtime that occurd DAILY? this is bulls**t.
the servers are in London smartguy

Yes I know I know it is rather bothersome for those who had short skills or just woke up and need there eve fix.. I dont blame you guys for being angry.. Just try to relax it will be back before you know it...
HOWEVER.. Lets do some math real fast.. 20,000 users x 14.95P month.. isnt that $3,588,000 a year?.. so I hope this means we will be seeing UBER 1337 equipment next year.. and the problems will be completely resolved.. I mean for a multi million dollar company why cant a service guy be there to simply hit the reset button?
80k SUBSCRIBERS at 14.95 per month = $14 mil and a bit

Looks like traceroutes are dying at Iceland Telecom's border router with Deutsche Telecom, my guess is that IT's network infrastructure is experiencing an outage.

Come on ppl, stop complaining. There are 8395 eve hours in a year, u lose maybe 40 ( high estimate) from unforseeable server oputages and stuff. Is it really worth introducing potential lags or taking time away from devs for offline skill training or nething else. CCP love us and are probably just as unhappy as we are wjhen the server breaks. Lets give em some slace eh?

Some of you guys need to get a grip. OMG - there's some downtime, we're all gonna die!!! Nevermind that we get all our patches/upgrades for free instead of paying $30-$40 bucks a whack for buggy new content that sux when it hits the street. Or that we're not constantly banging our heads against the closed-end constraints of some mentally challenged team of mega-corp devs. Let's all run in circles and scream "gimmie back my 32 cents for the downtime or I'm gonna tell my mommy!!!" Take it from a long-term refugee from EQ... you don't know how bloody well off you are.
At least it gives me something fun to read til the game is back up LOL.
