Originally by: Zeppi All thosw whining about downtime....shutup ive played EVERY onlinegame going.since 1995.....downtime happens and sometimes its just tough luck.Be glad they dont do a Rollback like all the Other RPG's out when this happens.would you like 6 hours of roleback time for your skills? ....EQ does it , DOAC does it, WoW does it, AC does it , UO does it....the list s endless and for the money You pay....go do the Real maths like TAX, Salerys, Server Costs, ISP costs , Network Costs , Engineer Costs...so what thedy have a turnover of 14mil a year i bet they are lucky to see 1 mil of that go into the reserve funds of the company.and yes i am being serious ..got any idea how much it costs to ship stuff like 80 servers from USA to iceland? and then install them..last time i looked the ramsan 400 server cost near on $500,000 after installation....
So stop whining about refunds and the skills lost..you guys have it soo easy im actually glad to keep paying for subscription even if the game goes down for a month..least i know my money is going into something worthwhile, and not some company director sports car like in sony...
Mate, stop whining about people whining - it's not constructive is it?

Originally by: Teutonis Northeast USA no go.... My second day with the game, too. just how often is this going to happen?
Also, the message on the MOTD switched to "Database problem solved, there is a network problem too which is being investigated"
Welcome to EVE, I can assure you that this kind of problem is very rare and as of yet, can't be specifically attributed to CCP either - so don't get to dispondent!

Originally by: yanshi i don't see US games going offline after i played 2 years of ENB.
Yea, 'cause the U.S. is better at everything. =P (read:sarcasm)
Accually he's got a point there, In my excperience US games don't go dead due to network issues, never did in Lineage2 and never in E&B either. If they do then it's server related, which is easier to fix :)
No, they just go offline for a day, then decide to rollback the database by a few more days, just for fun, then go offline for another day - much better really than having a couple of hours downtime for a network problem, isn't it...

Ahh well have to wait a little longer to make my Tempest, Still all good things come to those that wait. Soon we'll all be back on and this will fade quietly in to the background. Until the next problem of course when it will get hauled back out in to the light n paraded around of course. EVE will go on so will we just gotta wait a bit . so sit back turn on the radio put on a cd watch a movie n relax chill. Nothing else to do till then
