And that, Ladies and Gentlemen, is that for day one of the tournament. I hope you enjoyed by commentary and (Powers that be willing) I will be at the battleground tomorrow to cover the final 32 and final 16 matchups!
Once more Galaxion, you stuck with the forum commentary and i greatly thank you. It seemed this was scheduled to last from 8 to 5 for me and i had no chance of listening to eve radio nor watching it myself.
I'll be looking forward to your commentary tomm. How about starting a new thread, reserving the first like 20 posts of the thread, and constantly update the first post..moving outdated info down the posts if possible.. Or just linking from the first post to each battle.

Nicely done Galaxion! Enjoyed your reports very much! Lets hope you can make it tomorrow!
Props to those who have the balls to bring in really expensive ships! Always wanted to know how bad ass a Rattlesnake really is, lets hope they keep it in for the rest of the tournament!

Well really to be fair I think they did a damn good job. It was the only thing I had to go on until about the IRON fight when I got moved to the place so I think they provided enough info. Sure, the DJ's may not have been that clued up on the ship types and such, but considering they had to sit about 50km away, cloaked, and werent allowed for quite a while to even lock the combatants to get health info - I think they should be commended. -----------------------------------------

I'm still freaked out by the "Tempest that wouldn't die" and how that Crow didn't pop!
I just wish this event could have taken place a week from now when so many people didn't have RL commitments. There have been a lot of forfiets from some very capable groups. Regardless, it's been a very interesting progression, thanks in large part to Galaxion's fantastic commentary.

Two questions:
1 why was the decision to allow only allainces to enter, my non aligned corp would also have liked to have sent lambs to the slaughter.
2. Why no factional items?
As a trader in rare items nothing could be better than having a lot of such equipment destroyed to decrease the glut on the market... why should the t2 manufacturers have all the fun?

This is turning into a great event and largely due to the efforts of not just ISD (although of course they're running it) but also due to the additional assistance offered by the likes of Eve Radio and individuals like Galaxian and Omber Zombie giving up their time to support the event.
No event caters for everyone and a PvP tournament doesn't capture all the elements of game play in Eve but for those of us taking part, associated with participants, in alliances cheering our teams on or just plain old interested.... it's a great event & a much appreciated addition to the holiday season calendar!
Thanks all, can't wait for this evening's matches

Heck I wouldn't have mind if it be during a time when US Mountain or West coast players could play.

Really compliments and thanks to Galaxion for the commentary.
I would have really liked this to be done in a different time when i could attend and not restricted to just 3 guys for alliance (or at least with enough time to make our own trials to decide the team) even if i understand the reasons. Damn, i have fun just reading the comment, can't imagine partecipating !

i have just watched an MC video on the torny. - whoever piloted that - - I WILL NOT DIE tempest deserves the biggest medal out. a trully astonishing fight that the video could do nothing more to regenerate for u as if u were the mega pilot urself. MOST impressive organisation from both parties -- and MOST impressive piloting from the pest.
On a seperate note - Great fight to our brothers in G. clearly more woot woot missiles were required -p
Good luck to all left in the fight, hope to see a load more faction ships and videos. Ps - arent we rolling out the rattlesnake for the final bud?

I'll will see what we can do regarding getting you on the air for some of this, the commentry you've done on the forums has been awsome and nautrally we wouldn't want to impede you doing that.
Anyway hopfully I can get out of work in good time today so we can get somthing sorted before the start of the battles. Grab me if you see me in IRC or in Local. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Agreed. I was sitting there thinking, I thought MC lost this battle...this tempest is about to go down...how can that be then....and it never did.
