LeMonde has announced this clarification/rules change:
"Rules change: if a ship goes outside the 100km radius (warping
or not) - he will be healed to 0 and his team will not lose the match (this
now applies to both warping and flying)"

we was saying in local at the time our shield x-fers was not working thats y the manti went down so fast so the ROCK started taking the **** so this has to happen.

And now here's the fight:
The CNR of TR goes for the BoB eagle immediately, and te BoB ships first targets th cerberus of TR... similar tactics so far. Both teams are staying still for the monment.
Within 60 seconds, BoB have somehow popped BOTH the cerberus and the hawk of TRibe, leaving three ships on BoB to TR's one.
Update: the CNR of TR is still at the strting position and is still hitting the eagle of BoB, but the BoB HAC is tanking it. Now, TRIBE's CNR is trying to get even further from BlackLight and Alasse's ships.
3 minutes in, and the Eagle is still tanking the CNR with drones, and the Taranis of BoB is right up on the CNR right now and is being attacked by TR's only remaining ship.
4 minutes in, and the Taranis of BoB pops. There are signs that Tr's CNR's tank is failing. BoB fleet has begun to approach the TRIBE battleship.
Final Update: 5 minutes, and the CNR raven is down.
BoB go through convincingly after losing only a taranis

The third quarter final features another heavyweight and early favourite, the Five against the Stain Alliance.
5 appeared to find the earlier rounds a walk in the park with their rattlesnake, beating first the Freelance Blood Alliance, then their battleship singlehandedly obliterated RAZOR Alliance, and then in another impressive display, lost only a frigate to Ushra'Khan in round three.
Stain Alliance was not one favoured in the early betting, but now has shown enough promise to make people wonder... can they pull it off against 5 and further tonight? They recieved a bye through round one, beat Stella Nova United in round two, and then in one of the closest and most contentious battles of the tournament, win a 1v1 against Exuro Mourtis on the "bigger ship wins" rule.

SA: a Bhaalgorn (Nolon3), a cerberus (LeMoose), and a retribution (Kernal Tramadol)

And the fight:
The SA cerberus immediately goes fter the enemy Ishtar, the 5 drones are released towards the enemies, the rattlesnake has responded in kind by attacking the cerberus.
The Bhaalgorn is moving very quickly towards 5, and 5's AF has moved to intercept it. The Bhaalgorn has got stuck on the central asteroid and is being now pounded by the rattlesnake,
90 seconds in, the two AF's from either side are engaging around the central asteroid from long range, the ishta and cerberus of both sides are moving further away. The cerberus has gone after the 5 vengeance now. The bhaalgorn is still stuck on the central rock.
3 minutes in, and the bhaalgorn is unable to get around the asteroid to approach the rattlesnake
4 minutes in, and the vengeance goes down. The SA AF has moved towards the rattlesnake which is making the Bhaalgorn its primary still. However, he is free from the asteroid and is approaching the rattlesnake with speed.
5 minutes in... and the Bhaalgorn has POPPED under heavy fire from the rattlesnake without ever reaching the 5 battlship. The cerberus has continued to shoot the 5 AF which has engaged the SA AF at the top of the battlefield. SA seem crippled with their star battleship down. The cerberus, rattlesnake and ishtar are at the start positions.
7 minutes, after taking fire from Ishtar drones and the 5 vengeance, the retribution of SA pops...
and BREAKING NEWS... the SA team, with one ship remaining has been disqualified for podkilling a 5 ship. i think it was the vengeance pilot.

Confirmed.. 5 progress after SA podkill comitatus who was flying the vengeance. SA protest and say the system was incredibly laggy. I have to say i noticed NO above-normal lag...

Rumour is the Bhaalgorn had a SB fitted and podkilled the orbiting vengeance when it was stuck on the asteroid.
edit: ISD confirmed it. They said it was a SB so it must have been the bhaalgorn

Our final quarter final is between the Red Alliance and KAOS Empire.
The Reds have had the easiest run to the final 8 of anyone, recieving free passage through both round one and round two, and then comprehensively defeating 3rd Front Alliance. They are the only team in the Final Eight to have lost no ships so far.
KAOS had a decidedly harder time getting to this stage, but shone against first Imperium Alliance, then Stain Empire's 2-man fleet and finally TRUST Alliance.
