Next up is strangely Red Alliance's first battle of the tournament, and they are fighting the tried and proven 3rd Front Alliance:
RA: a Megathron (Daroh), a Zealot (Mactep), a Wolf (Ledy Sirena)
3FA: a Magathron (Clipped Wings), a Deimos (Ichabod Crane), and a Wolf (Lacrimae) -----------------------------------------

It was our intercepter left, and their navy raven. Team with biggest surviving ship wins.

Update: Both sides are complaining of 3-4 second lag on module activation, and we may be moving to another system where the lag is less bad.

Then they'd better give ships back and let EVERYONE so far rematch.
If this isn't resolved, there will be repocussions.

The problem isn't that we lost, it's in how we lost. Our tactics were depending on the nossing power of the curse, but if that can't use its nos when it's at 15km, while the range on them is 27km, obviously something's wrong.

If anything, this will help the development team better monitor the usual lag brought about by these situations. --------

No, they've already said they don't have proof for lag being present during the fight. So how can they improve if there's no data?

"11 minutes, and knowing defeat the interceptor of ExM warps out, leaving SA's lone CNR the winner"
Well from what i was doing i was ovoiding the ravens missiles/drones and oribiting eris. next thing im in a station in amarr. so i didn't warp away , but what i cant tell i prolly lagged or emergancy warped because of the 'lag' that apparently the gms dont think exists even though our spectator and even the sa team also complained about it...

Edited by: Galaxion on 29/12/2005 23:35:45 Right, the lag subsided...
the entire 3FA team slowly approach the RA stationery fleet. The megathron of RA is moving... slowly towards the centre to meet 3FA. 3FA's diemos is the primary target of the fire of the RA ships, notably the mega and zealot. In response to RA moving forwards slowly, 3FA have turned round and headed the other way. This is a very slow uneventful start.
2 minutes in, and the megathron's have moved in range and are engaging each other with guns. It would appear that the two wolf's on either side are engaging each other, and the Zealot of RA is also now firing on the wolf, which surely cannot last long.
3 minutes in now, the RA Megathron has turned around and is moving away from the enmy back to its starting position. The 3FA Wolf is being repped by drones and is going to tackle the megathron and fight the wolf of RA close up.
4 minutes in and the RA Zealot is being persued away from the fight by drones, and the Deimos of 3FA is engaging the megathron at under 10km.
Meanwhile, the wolf's fought each other and 3FA's wolf was destroyed. RA's wolf gets back to the fight, shooting the drones of the 3FA Diemos.
5 minutes in, both megathron's are now sitting nose to nose after the 3FA moved rapidly to catch the RA mega. Both battleships are webbed. The 3FA Deimos has broken away from the mega's to go after the RA Zealot which is approximately 50km from the rest of the fight.
6 Minutes in, it is still 3v2 and progresing slowly.
Update:7 minutes, the Deimos and Zealot are at very close range and are webbing and nossing each other, the RA wolf has broken away from the megas perhaps to either repair or snipe at something. The Megas continue to engage at very close range.
8 minutes, after a prolonged fight with the zealot, the Deimos has been beaten straight by the Zealot, leaving RA with all three ships and only 3FA's Megathron left. -----------------------------------------

No that isn't the point...the point is that 3-4 other alliances have lost for the same reason and other than stating that they were lagged, they don't say stupid things like...."there will be reprecussions"

Exactly. You can't host a PvP tournament and expect anyone to take the results seriously if a vast majority of people are experiencing extreme lag and others are not even able to use the modules on their ships... Personally, I couldn't care less about us losing in a fair fight, prearranged or otherwise - Our killboard speaks for itself about how effective we are. The fact that we lost due to circumstances that are completely out of our control is a total joke to be honest. If you think we are sore losers, come try your luck with us in Delve....we're actually pretty good when we can activate our modules

Edited by: Coug on 29/12/2005 23:45:04 It looks like the lag started in the VC vs TRIBE fight, and is only increasing.
It was unfortunate for us, unfortunate for Exuro Mortis, and for LV earlier.
I have to shake my head that it is only now being acknowledged in current fights, and nothing will be done about the past matches. Personally, the CNR would have been tough for us (VC) to overcome, but I would have rather gone down with full module activation. At least with the lag, it doesn't make me feel bad at all, and I'm proud to have been part of the Sweet 16.

Edited by: Galaxion on 29/12/2005 23:54:52 The fight:
The KAOS team move forwards as one, and the CNR of TR fires right away on the Navy Mega. The ishtar of TR has gone after the Deimos of KAOS. TR's harpy has begun a flanking maneoveur.
60 seconds in, the Navy Mega's shield has been ripped off by the CNR, as has the Deimos'. The Ishtar has unleashed an army of drones and nossing onto the Navy Mega - one has to wonder how long the Mega can sustain this amount of fire. The ishkur of KAOS is aiding the Navy Mega.
getting up to 3 minutes now, and the harpy of TR is still nowhere near the fight, and the ishtar, which was the recipient of heavy blaster fire from the Navy Issue Megathron, has popped, leaving this fight as 3v2. The CNR has moved away from the Navy Mega to the extreme end of the battleground.
Update: 5 or 6 minutes in, after heavy fire from the Deimos and Navy Mega of KAOS, the CNR has gone down but valiently. The ishkur of KAOS has managed to catch the harpy of TR finally, and with the full attention of the KAOS fleet, the harpy cannot last very long.
The battle is over after 7 minutes with KAOS holding the field, and with all their ships remaining. -----------------------------------------

Edited by: Righteous Fury on 29/12/2005 23:52:31 I want to congratulate SA on the fight, was excellent. We thought we had it in the bag until we noticed that you had a brand new Fleet Issue Raven - TS was like "oh crap".
I feel we did pretty well, I'm proud of the the way the Curse handled itself - definitely worth the 200 mil I paid for it and I'll definitely be buying more.
Lag was most unfortunate, to the point where the majority of us couldn't activate our modules or even know what range we were at in relation to the enemy ships. For example, I was attempting to nos the LeMoose in the CNR from 15km - and the server was telling me I wasn't in range (27km max with NOS and Recon lvl3). Similar things went on with both teams. I think that the lag issue is a lot more apparent with my team because of the constant switching on and off of support modules - nos, tracking links, painters, etc. Lag pretty much prevented us from supporting each other as efficiently as we could have, whereas the CNR was content just to spam torps at us.
I spoke with LeMonde about the lag issue and he admitted that there was a problem on the servers part, although he wasn't going to give us a rematch (as he had done earlier). I disagree with this decision, but I guess we'll just have to wait until the next tournament to get to the finals.
Again, good fight to SA and good luck on your quest to the finals.

That concludes tonight's coverage of the Caldari Alliance Tournament. I hope my commentary has been adequate despite my rubbish PC crashing quite a lot (thankfully inbetween fights).
Hopefully, I will be able to commentate tomorrow, on the quarters, semis and final. -----------------------------------------
