Edited by: Galaxion on 29/12/2005 15:55:00 OK first up we have Force of Evil and United Confederation of COrporations:
Force of Evil: a claw (Druban Yishkafis), a zealot (Katsumoto), and a tempest (Angel151).
UCC: a harpy (jaysonia), a zealot (Golden Boy), and a raven (LuckyGuy).
The battle is due to start at 16:00.
edit: FoE swapped their battleship. -----------------------------------------

When you are evil you can do anything! Rules do not apply :)
Edit: I wish i was a seller of Zealots heading into this tourney, they do seem to be the cruiser of choice.

And here is the fight:
FOE immedately scatter their ships. UCC's raven imediately starts launching volley after volley of missiles at the FoE tempest. The FOE claw goes down first after flying an erractic orbit around the tempest. Drones finish him off, the two zealots of either side engage each other off to a side.
The tempest of FoE, slowly making its way towards the UCC ships, finally pops under an immense barrage about 2.5 minutes into the fight. This means FoE have one ship to UCC's 3.
However, the zealot of FoE makes a good attack, destroying the enemy zealot 30 seconds later and then managing to take down the UCC harpy which was attempting to target paint the FoE ship.
With just the FoE zealot and the UCC raven left on the field, this battle looks decidedly one-sided. The Zealot, sensing defeat, attempts to get to range to maintain its tank but cannot put up with the volleys of missiles relentlessly pouring out of the raven.
UCC win with one ship standing, but their victory never really looked in doubt after they whacked that poor tempest. -----------------------------------------

Here's to another day of getting nothing done at work between listening to eve radio and reading your summaries Galaxion.
I had some problems with eve-radio. I got it to work by going to:
http://s4relay.eve-radio.gamingradio.net:8000/
Then clicking on listen and picking realplayer for my program. (Think winamp works as well.)
Might also try
http://s3relay.eve-radio.gamingradio.net:8000/ http://s2relay.eve-radio.gamingradio.net:8000/
if the first one doesn't work.

Edited by: Galaxion on 29/12/2005 16:21:46 Edited by: Galaxion on 29/12/2005 16:20:49 The next exciting fight is between The ROCK and The Sudden Death Squad (SDS).
This is how they line up:
The ROCK: an IMPERIAL Arma (Thyrrax Thork), a cerberus (Jim Raynor), and a vengeance (Homo Erectus)
SDS: a Machariel (Kingpeach), a vagabond (FKN Cire), and an enyo (EXZODIER) -----------------------------------------

Edited by: Galaxion on 29/12/2005 16:32:34 At the start, the only ship to move of is the ROCK vengeance. The ROCK Cerberus makes the SDS enyo its primary. The cerberus then switches targets to the SDS vagabond whiel leaving a mountain of drones to combat the enyo.
Meanwhile, the SDS Machariel uses at least an AB to move towards the ROCK Imp.ARma, which is slowly moving backwards to maintain range against the Machariel.
About 2 minutes in, the cerberus and drones finishes off the little enyo, also the drones of the Mach manages to kill the vengeance of the ROCK. About a minute later the vagabond pops to the cerberus' very fast missile spamming. The MAchariel diverts its drones to the cerberus while it's guns meet the guns of the IMp. Arma.. which is still moving backwards!
about 4 and a half minutes in, and the ROCK have 2 ships to one, the cerberus tanking the army of drones around it very well. Ship health shows the Imp. Arma still in shield while the MAchariel is already tanking.
This is now 7 minutes in, the cerberus of ROCK's tank fails and it has popped, leaving it a 1v1 betwen the big, expensive ships. The Imp. Arma is running around the station in the battlefield being chased by the mach, the mach is doing a good job of tanking the Arma but it is holding at only around 40% armour. The Imp. Arma right now must be the favourite but it is still too close to call
Update: 9 and a half minutes, and perhaps because the Mach had to start tanking earlier, it's cap is beginning to run out. The half a dozen or so drones remaining on the field are circling the ROCK's Imp. Arma...
AND THE MACHARIEL POPS! It was all over in about 10 seconds after it looked like the tank was failing.
With one ship left (and what a ship) the ROCK and their Imperial Armageddon move to the next round. I think that was the best fight of the tournament so far. -----------------------------------------

It appears one of the spectators, Levin, bumped the machariel but LeMonde has ruled that it did not effect the outcome of the fight and the the victory by ROCK stands

the spectators are that close?! your kidding? they can sit 90km out and not effect the battle while still being able to view..why are they so close..
edit: i wanted to point out 700+ views already on this thread..amazing. No work for sure today.

I think they were chasing each other round a station at the time, so the range the mach lost in getting up to speed was too irrelevant I think to invalidate the fight. -----------------------------------------

The next fight then is a good one I hope, Ascendant Frontier versus Lotka Volterra.
ASCN: A machariel (Sikifyrestarter), a sacriledge (Steel rat), and a harpy (Murphy)
Lotka: A Machariel (Chowdown), a sacriledge (Drilla), and a retribution (Elve Sorrow).
With ships almost identical, this one could come down to tactics and skill more than anything else.
Update: Someone has shot the DJ so the start of the fight is delayed slightly -----------------------------------------

Edited by: Galaxion on 29/12/2005 16:59:36 At the start both sides appear to be cautious to react. Then the entire ASCN team starts a flanking maneoveur to the left, while the harpy of ASCN attempts to snipe the retribution of LV, with a degree of success. 45 seconds in and the machariels appear to be doing nothing as yet. The sacriledge's of each side are targeting each other's frigate-sized ships.
90 seconds in, and the machariels are still out of the fight doing very little. The LV retribution is approaching the harpy of ASCn which is still taking fire from the LV sacriledge too.
2 minutes in, and the ASCN machariel enters the fight cautiously by firing missiles at the LV retribution which is less than 20km from him, and attempting to kill the LV sacriledge from long range. It is still 3v3. The retribution comes under the fire of all the drones of the ASCN side however it appears to be tanking VERY well for an interceptor.
Not surprisingly, the retribution pops, and this is about 4 minutes into the fight. The LV machariel is still back at the starting point not getting heavily involved. The LV Sacriledge which has approached the ASCN fleet from under them becomes the primary target of the ASCN fleet, and comes under fire from all of their drones which are acting as one collective mass. The sacriledge really does not last very long at all, perhaps it came under heavy fire from the ASCN mach.
It is now the 3 ASCN ships against Chowdown's Machariel which is still maybe 70km from the ASCN fleet. I think he is starting to realise their tactics have been beaten.... unless he is about to pull a victory out of nowhere! We are about 7 minutes in
Update: The LV Machariel is tanking the enemy team so far, but is moving perilously close to the boundary of the field from where I see it. The Sacriledge and harpy of the ASCN side are right on the machariel of LV now, as are the drones, while the ASCN machariel shoots from long range.
Chowdown has WARPED OUT of the arena, 9 minutes in. No dying with honour in this case, but it was an expensive ship and the battle was near enough lost.
With 3 ships left (again), ASCN stride into the 3rd round with a slow, steady battle. -----------------------------------------

I'd like to add that as a penalty for warping out, Chowdown recieved a /heal0 from the devs, and his ship promptly exploded. -----------------------------------------

It has to be said again: Props! Its pretty much the case of realizing these "beings" should not be tucked away in a station just as a Ferrari should not be put in a garage and never driven.
The Fundamental difference between people with just money and people with money and a good mindset to match!
I think I'll try and get up there...just added 50GB to the FRAPS disk.

Beaten by Ascendant Frontier, and even not the guts to stay to the end.

Sorry, we dont all NPC 23/7 so for some of us these ships are actually expensive.
Thanks for not letting us know about the change of rules btw.
