And this is the fight:
VC are off like a shot, with the vagabond and frigate of VC are focusing with drones on the cerberus as well as the raven spamming it with torps. It would appear the VC iskhur is nossing the cerberus to help break its tank.
about 60 seconds in, the cerberus dies to the VC focused fire. Now, the FFA's enyo attacks the support of VC to try and kill the ishkur, but is destroyed in les than 30 seconds.
FFA are on the ropes with only one ship remaining. The raven of FFA is focus of all the fire, and all the drones. It is trying to attack the cruiser of VC.
Update: After less than 3 minutes, the raven warps out. And we all know what happens then.. dont we */heal0*
VC win convincingly and get through to the next round with all three ships remaining. -----------------------------------------

Now it's the turn of IRON and Ushra'Khan.
IRON: a Machariel (Warchild), an Oneiros (Killmore), and an Ishkur (Buddrow)
U'K: a Machariel (Annu),an Ishtar (Sforza) an Ishkur (Hellcore)
Two machariels again.. I wonder if that support cruiser will make a difference. We will find out in a couple of minutes -----------------------------------------

and here is the clash of the machariels:
The U'K support cautiously moved towards the IRON fleet. The IRON Oneiros locks and boosts the IRON Mach. The mach's are shooting at each other right away, and the ishkur's from either side are also attacking each other. The Ishtar is recieving some fire from the Mach (perhapds to stop it attacking the Oneiros) and is not tanking at all well.
The U'K Mach meanwhile is moving rather quickly in persuit of the IRON Mach. The ishtar of U'K is taking a heavy hitting, and the Mach's have closed to about 5 km. This is about 2 minutes in.
The army of IRON drones are on the U'K Ishtar.
3 minutes down and the first ship to go down is the U'K Ishtar, meahwile the mach's are perhaps too close to hit each other, and the frigates of the two sides are taking beatings from each side's drones. Meanwhile, the U'K Mach is relaying a lot of fire onto the support cruiser but appears to either be tanking very well or is being remote repped. Above the Mach's, now about 5 minutes in, the ishkur's are in their own battle.
6 MInutes in, and the main fight is IRON's fight to keep the Oneiros alive under the barrage of U'K's Machariel.
Now 7 minutes in, and the ishkur from IRON is also being remote repped by the Machariel.
Update: The Machariel of IRON is managing to remote rep its entire fleet as the Mach of U'K switches targets to the IRON Mach.
8 MInutes in, and in a key turning point perhaps U'K FINALLY Manage to kill the Oneiros of IRON, and the Ishkur is into its hull and is surely running out of cap.
10 minutes now and the developers have extended the time in this long, exciting battle. The IRON's Machariel is fighting 2 v 1, despite the fact that U'K's ishkur is crippled it has managed to avoid the drone wrath of IRON's Machariel. Both big ships are tanking each other... for the moment. This is surely turning into an exciting cap battle. -----------------------------------------

Originally by: Koronos IMO it is really really uncool for these ships to be popped when there was no mention of that in the rules
IMO you need to read up on the rules . 6. If a player warps out of the arena for whatever reason during the fight, his/her ship will be destroyed.
Its been there from the get go.
But I agree that would be better to stay and fight than warp and get a "/heal0"

Next is the RAZOR Alliance versus the Five. These two Alliances know each other on the battlefield, but what will be the outcome of a straight 3v3? Lets look at how they came today:
RAZOR: a Megathron , an Ishtar, and a Harpy
[5]: a Rattlesnake (Kayasoni), an Ishtar and an Jaguar
And the fight:
5's Jaguar makes the early running, and is immediately pounded upon by the RAZOR guns. The Rattlesnake of 5 goes after the sihtar immediately, launching unbelieveable amounts of missiles.
About 45 seconds in, the ishtar pops. Its tank was simply inconsequential under the firepower of the Rattlesnake. Meanwhile, the Jaguar of 5 is coming under fire from the Harpy and the drones of the Megathron.
90 seconds in, and the rattlesnake diverts just one volley to the harpy, and IT'S GONE!
RAZOR's megathron is delivering hell upon the poor RAZOR Megathron which cannot tank any better than anyone else who came up against them.
Less than 3 minutes, and the Rattlesnake effectively beats the entire RAZOR fleet without any real damage.. or without moving from the start position,
5 look a force to be reckoned with and easily progress to the next round. -----------------------------------------

Edited by: M00dy on 29/12/2005 19:21:10 I thought that the remote repping strategy would win it for Iron. Seemed like a good idea.
Cheers for Ursha'Khan tho.
P.S. I wonder if anyone is going to be able to stand up to that Rattlesnake?

Next is the Haine Foundation versus Exuro Mourtis:
Haine: a Dominix (The Novis), a Zealot (Lucita Thoron), and an Enyo ({Solarius))
ExM: a Machariel (News), a Zealot (Reightous Fury), and a Maldediction (Tiki Rar) -----------------------------------------

And the fight:
The Malediction of ExM is the first to move off. Haine's ships are not really moving at all so far. The zealots of each side are beginning a flanking maneoveur, and no-one is firing perhaps due to module lag.
and... 60 seconds in I think the ExM battleship has crashed... -----------------------------------------

Edited by: Galaxion on 29/12/2005 19:44:54 Now the real fight:
ExM's Malediction goes immediately to tackle the Zealot of Haine.. but breaks off the attack halfway through and instead orbits the center of the battlefield. Aside from the Haine dominix deploying drones not much else has heppened 30 seconds in...
Now though... the machariel has begun to approach the dominix rapidly, who has its drones waiting, the Zealot of ExM has also started a flanking maneoveuer off to the right.
The first ship to pop 2 minutes in is the Zealot of Haine, who came under heavy fire from the Machariel and long range fire from the Zealot of ExM.
3 minutes in, and the Machariel has turned about face, and is heading away from the now lone dominix. The support frigate and cruiser of ExM have gone after the Haine Enyo which is attempting to tackle the Machariel, and sure enough about 30 seconds after engagement, the enyo goes down. It is now 3v1, and the Machariel has turned round to engage the Dominix. Also ExM's malediction has tackled the Dominix.. which is not using its drones at all to get rid of the interceptor.
now 5 minutes in, and the dominix has nothing else to do but tank and fire back at the Zealot and Machariel, this battle is already looking quite a bit one sided.
Update: The dominix is still tanking the Machariel and Zealot of ExM which are engaging from longrange. It's drones still are not appearing to take out the interceptor rapidly orbiting the dominix. Also... a Haine helios has entered the field or just been decloaked by something... spooky happenings going on.
Final Update: After 4 or 5 minutes, the dominix tank unsurprisingly fails and it succumbs to the Machariel.
With all three ships left on the field, Exuro Mortis progresss to the next stage. -----------------------------------------

props to Galaxion for the thread
and win or lose it is a true test of PvP to fight BoB's CNR and either way is damn fine for AM. That CNR alone is a power house, add a good pilot and i can see why they made it to the third round.
*salute*

Edited by: Galaxion on 29/12/2005 20:01:38 Edited by: Galaxion on 29/12/2005 19:59:17 The fight:
The cerberus of SNU is quick off the mark with the missiles, going after the frigate of SA. SA's raven responds by going after the SNU cerberus.
Both the cerberus and the SA crow are destroyed inside 90 seconds, leaving two ships on each side that are staying at range. The raven concentrates on the tempest of SNU, whila SA's muninn appears to be trying to snip the SNU ishkur from 50km+.
We are about 3 minutes in, and all ships are staying at range.
Update: This is looking like a slow fight, not only are they staying at range but the SNU tempest and ishkur appear to be moving away from the opposition. The muninn, perhaps now out of range, begins to persue the opposition. It would appear that the tempest and raven are tanking each other for the most part. The raven is still using EM torps so I wonder if the tempest is shield tanking
Update: About 5 minutes in.. and suddenly the Tempest of SNU EXPLODES! This leaves only the SNU ishkur as easy pickings surely for the muninn and raven, who indeed quickly switch targets and begint o zero him in. Actually, the SNU frigate appears to be trying to hide behind the polaris frigate in the center of the arena! NO matter, within 60 seconds of the tempest he is also destroyed.
SA have their 2 largest ships remaining, and progress to the next round. -----------------------------------------
