Next up then is Prime Orbital Systems versus 3rd Front Alliance.
POS: a Machariel (Lene Jones), an Eagle (Olrig Manton), and a Crusader (Dendron).
3FA: a Megathron (Clipped Wings), a Diemos (Ichabod Crane), and a Wolf (Lacrimae).
Both sides have fielded the exact same teams as they did in round two. Both were responsible for brilliant matches in the first round. This should be a good one.

The Machariel opens up with missiles on the 3FA Diemos. The two frigate-sized ships are going at it in the centre of the battle, and is also coming under fire from the POS Eagle's missile launchers.
3FA's Megathron and Diemos split up and attack down both sides of the battlefield towards the enemy 60 seconds in.
90 seconds in, the Wolf of 3FA dies after tanking heavy fire for apporximately one minute. The diemos' army of drones go after the crusader of POS, while the diemos rushes to try and get in blaster range of the POS eagle. The Machariel has made it to the middile of the battleground, but has turned around and opened fire on the Diemos in an attempt to help the Eagle.
The 3FA's megathron uses the Machariel's lapse in attention to MWd up behind and start nossing the Angel battleship.
3 minutes in, the crusader of POS succumbs to the drones of the Diemos, which recalls them to go after the Eagle.
4 minutes, and the Eagle is also under attack from the Megathron's drones and is in blaster range of the Megathron. The Diemos of 3FA has run away and begun a circling maneoveur, perhaps it's job of decoy done it has retreated to repair. The Megathron has concentrated it's fire on the Eagle.
Now 6 minutes in, the MAchariel is moving to get range on the Megathron while firing some missiles at the Megathron, and the Diemos has also come back to get at the Eagle. Now 7 minutes, the complicated tactics of 3FA has paid of and the Eagle pops, leaving the Machariel against the 3FA Diemos and Megathron.
8 minutes in, the Machariel is under attack from all the remaining 3FA drones, the Diemos is getting range, and then closing over and over on the Machariel, and the Megathron is staying I think 20-30km from the Machariel.
10 minutes now, and the Megathron has closed right up to the Machariel, which is at the moment still tanking fairly successfully, but one has to winder it is just a matter of time till he runs out of cap and the tank fails. The diemos is now also in blaster range.
After an 11minute fight, the Machariel pops. 3FA progress, and have shown that very clever tactics can beat better ships.

hmm intresting test i just completed. its actually possible to kill d CNR or Rattlesnake by smart bombing with either a scorpion or raven itself, caution is to be used with this tactic. very vulnerable but u will have to rely on ur support to kill his support depending. raven..6x named sbs(at least 6-8km range) 2 x nos, gistil shield boost, mwd/ab, named web, cap rechargers 2s, pdu 2s as much as possible or cap relays if u want to sacrifce cap size for recharge rate. i r alty alt muhahahahha.

SE's raven imediately targets the KAOS Navy Mega which is MWd'ing towards the SE fleet. The KAOS Diemos has also gone MWD'ing up to the SE fleet, and the SE interceptor... is flying out of the arena it would appear and is nowhere near any of the combatants.
And yes... 60 seconds in the SE team is Disqualified after the SE frigate piloted by Shifu travelled straight out of the arena in the opposite direction to the rest of the fighters.
With all three ships left KAOS go through

OK, the Se v KAOS fight has restarted, with SE already one ship down (the malediction).
SE's raven fires first on the Navy Megathron, and the SE Ishtar drops its drones in preparation. The entire KAOS fleet is moving towards SE, the Navy Mega has engaged the MWD.
60 seconds in, and the Diemos of KAOS goes after the Ishtar of SE, whose drones are away attacking the Navy Mega. The Mega continues its advance on SE despite the barrage of missiles from the Se raven. Hardly surprisingly, the Mega appears able to tank it. It looks as though the Mega is prepared to tear the raven apart as soon as it gets into range of the raven.
2 minutes in, and the KAOS frigate is attacking the drones of the Ishtar and has also managed to pin it down while the Diemos lays into it. The Mega has now closed on the raven and has opened fire. It has now been tanking the full force of the raven for over 2 minutes
3 minutes in, and the Ishtar of SE pops, leaving onlyt the raven agsinst the entire KAOS fleet.
Update: 4 minutes in, and the raven is stationary while the Mega has its blasters trained on it, the Diemos' drones are circling it and the frigate of KAOS is nossing it. It is only a matter of seconds...
and the raven has gone. In under 5 minutes, KAOS has destroyed the 2-man fleet of Stain Empire and progress to the next round.

The Big BLUE's vindicator has started fighting without being told, and another member of BLUE has engaged ISD without warning. ISD kep moving them to the starting location but keep flying into the middle of the battleground.
More when I know what is going on
Edit: The Big BLUE have been removed from the battlefield and have been warned with disqualification.

BLUE have been moved back into the battlefield and it looks like that fight will be starting properly now. And the battle of the expensive ships begins...
BLUE's ishtar MWD's right away into the heart of the TRUST fleet, and the TRUST CNR fires immediately at the Vindicator.
Within 30 seconds, the Vindicator has moved FAST and closed the distance between it and the CNR to point blank. The two frigates from the two alliances are orbiting each other about 20km away from the battleships shooting at each other.
2 minutes in, and the Vindicator is being pummelled by the CNR, which is moving away, and the enemy's Ishtar's drones. 2 and a half minutes, we have the first casuality - the frigate of TRUST goes down in the duel with the BLUE frigate.
3 minutes in, the BLUE Ishtar goes down, to a combination of some fire from the CNR and direct fighting with the Ishtar from the other side. The Vindicator is showing signs that its tank is failing now,
4 minutes in, and the Vindicator goes down. It nevr really looked like a threat to the CNR under such heavy missile fire.
30 seconds later, and the Ishtar's drones and the CNR makes light work of the BLUE Harpy.
After losing only a frigate, the TRUST Alliance make its way into the third round.
