No we're not... just looked: Now midnight GMT... oh well, off to get an early night for once this week
Good luck to the developers, hopefully when I get up I'll be able to login.

From this thread in EVE New Citizens Q&A:
Thanks a lot CCP
I¦m not sure after news items, dev blogs and posts on the forum if there¦s much more save individual eve-mails CCP could do.
Please continue all patch related discussion Here
The response was as expected from the player base (no one really read what I posted of course, or what the primary complaints were really about). I'd like to reiterate:
1. there is no queueing facility in EVE to continue auto skill training while offline if & when training expires (as per this extended DT) 2. if the only announcements about as significant an event as this are passive to the game, then the subscriber hasn't been advised sufficiently imo
Some of us have busy lives & don't have enough time to read the RL news, much less EVE news every single day/week - they just want to log on for a precious few minutes/hours & play. Nor do they have time to read these forums. I, for one, play EVE to *play* the game, not to do an hour+ of reading every day. I don't read the news section on the EVE launcher much (I log in far too quickly), nor do I pay attention to the default Help channel much either, as there's always a page+ of multicoloured links/stuff that I'm well past now as I'm into my 3rd mth).
I have 2 suggestions to the EVE Team to address the above concerns. The first one re skill queueing is obvious: pls get it in ASAP. The 2nd re announcements is: either send an EVE Mail about this to each person (let them subscribe to this if you must), or have a popup overlay, much like the existing daily imminent DT warning, every day/few hours/hour for a few seconds as this DT event draws closer & closer.
In a week of sporadic playing I came across NO hint whatsoever that this DT was going to happen & I was on about 4 or 5 sessions up to twice a day for short periods & 1 long-ish (for me) session of around 3hrs. Being I (& many others no doubt) are in a crappy timezone & we get hit with DT *every* *single* weeknight during out primetime, this just adds more frustration to the already overflowing bucket. And we are paying subscribers, just like every other so-called 'vet' here who automatically screams out 'WHINER!' the moment a newb has what they consider a legit complaint (another criticism of the community EVE is fostering I shall address later as a separate issue).
The only other suggestion I have is that the current time be put on the launcher screen so that news flashes in the box to the right have a context. Right now "estimated to open at 21:30" doesn't mean much to me as I'm in GMT+10. Yes, I know where to find timezone conversions, but I shouldn't have to do mental arithmetic for something so fundamental.
A final word of advice to the EVE customer relations team: a customer who complains is giving you a 2nd chance; a customer who doesn't complain & leaves - that's the one you should be wary of. :)

CCP have made the gesture of refunding game time in the past. But only where the server downtimes lasted a long while (like a whole day) and where it wasnt expected (i.e. NOT a patch, which btw, is only overdue a couple of hours right now)
I certainly don't think game time needs to be refunded unless the servers stay down tomorrow as well - which given the dedication of the team there is very unlikely. ______________________________________

Originally by: kieron For those that are saying this extended deployment time is the result of incomplete testing, the server issue we are trying to resolve is only occurring on Tranquility. We cannot duplicate it on the internal test servers, or Singularity, the external test server.
I would like to make this clear to a number of players. Due to the differences between Tranquility, Singularity and Chaos, not all the code migrates between the three flawlessly.
A poor analogy, but an analogy, nonetheless. Say you have a motor (code) you know works in your car (Chaos, internal test server). Move it over to a buddy's car (Singularity, external test server) and it works there, too. Put it in a different friend's truck (Tranquility) with a fuel system (server start-up code) that's supposed to be compatible, but it's just not working. The fuel system floods the motor and kills it before the motor starts.
I hope this gives some insight into what the team is trying to resolve.
thx for the update m8 any more news plz let us know

I'm hoping that rather than rushing to try to fix the issues the development team are ignore their managers and working methodically to fix the issue. (I've been in too many issues where management push for a fast fix regardless of the risks and at the expense of proper engineering practice. I've walked out of one job due that sort of pressure...)
Anyways, good luck to all.

My God folks..8 pages of POST patch deployment moans..and the patch hasn't even been deployed yet!
Please just calm down and leave the Devs to it..its very easy to have an opinion about something you dont understand - but hey I for one think CCP do a great job..and these things happen..thats life..
Good luck Devs, most of us love ya....(in a manly way...ahem)

Okay, I'm going to have to say that everyone who is complaining about the time they paid for: What is twelve hours? Are you seriously THAT dependent on the game? Not only that, but it seems like this would be something that doesn't happen often, and I'm sure that the dev team, or whatever it is that works on bugs, is working hard to fix the problem. You buy time on this game in months, right? Well, I'm sure you can go a day or so without it and not be losing that much money.
I say kudos goes to CCP for working hard to fix it and keep you guys happy.

I only wish this had happened during the trial that expired, because I wouldn't be paying customer like I am now. The whole day is a wash for me, I don't have any other time to spend on this game tonight. And giving me a day in return for what I lost isn't going to make up for this inconvience. I've been paying for like a week now and the server has crashed several times during the times I can play, and now this, a critical error which obviously isn't going to be fixed any time soon. I want 100M ISK and a week worth of training instantly!!! LOL
