Hopefully this new patch they are about to release allows Tranquility to come up for us all. (v2.13.4558)
The MOTD is working on Singularity.
Keep up the good work CCP, I know wrestling around in that code can be a pain.

Unfortunately, we have had to delay the estimated return of TQ to 2030. The server start-up issue is being trickier than expected to track down. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience and loss of game play time.

well, somehow during when the message was still 19:30 and shortly after the message that the server does not accept any connections, I installed Patch 4557 via autoupdate. Unfortunatly the server seems now to have another new version but no patch available yet.
Anyway I am going to download the latest full client just in case there is no 4557-4558 when the server gets back online.

Originally by: Serok I want to see a "professional" say they could deploy something like the EVE server better than CCP does it, to the one of a kind cluster it runs on, and then I want to see proof in writing.
There are thousands of people who pay alot more per month for their software, have more problems, and worse customer service than any of you are going to experience here.
Hell, if you don't have the patience for something like this, you probably don't need to be playing EVE anyway.
Keep up the good work CCP. Some of us understand and appreciate it. Thanks.
He's right ya know, I play another game called Battlefield 2, well i did until their latest patch ( v1.3 ) killed the game for me completely, that was over a month ago, last week they said v1.4 would be released but then they guffed it up an hour before it was supposed to launch, still waiting for it.
So 8 - 10 hell 24 hours wait aint nuthing really And no....i didnt start a long skill......the nubber that i is

doesnt matter ... backuping 2 TB of data on my own servers... this will also take some time, and my services are "paused" as well during that procedure. Never had a customer who complained about that.

I dont wanna sound like a whiny *****, but this is bollox ~~ Last mmo i play was Dark age of camelot, and last expansion was deployed in 4hours period as it was expected and there were no lag problems after what so ever. Get a clue tbh, or else you will end up sounding like a fanboi.
k, now back to looking at eve login screen >.> --- First pvp expirience in eve is alot like having first sex, you have absolutely no idea what you are doing, but it is exciting and one way or another its over way too fast.

As said, Eve Updates and Extension (as Tech2 Ships or new feats or something the like could be called) are for free in Eve, which is not the case in every other MMOG. So a little patience can be expected.
However, it would also be fine if the servers would up till 22:00 GMT.

A quick note to those asking for compensation, please check the terms and conditions that you AGREED to when you signed up. Just because you havent read them doesnt mean they dont apply.
A quick suggestion though, maybe it would help everyones EVE withdrawl if the patch ETA was massively overestimated, for instance the initial estimate being a two day offline, that way you can happily reduce the time if it goes smooth but people know to expect a long delay.

Heres an idea for you at CCP. Trick us into thinking that the server will be up much later than you expect then suprise us by bringing it up early. Brilliant!!

btw, imho ccp should seriously consider putting patch for upload in couple of days before patch deployment, i think it would resolve after-patch-lagging-problems-when-20k-users-try-to-download-patch ~~ --- First pvp expirience in eve is alot like having first sex, you have absolutely no idea what you are doing, but it is exciting and one way or another its over way too fast.

I for one wanna thank the guys at CCP... I am sure they understand our frustrations and are doing all they can to rectify the situation. As someone earlier said, have a coffee, read the paper... watch some TV. We'd be far more upset if they released a half baked product that crashed every 5 minutes. And at least one of the CCP guys is keeping us posted with developments. It'll take as long as it takes and thats that. Look at it this way: 'Yesterday it worked, today it doesn't. Computers are like that'
Keep up the good work CCP dudes!! Light is faster than sound, this is why some people appear bright until you speak to them. |

Originally by: Zaphod Jones just a suggestion to all the whining idiots demanding compensation how about we compensate you by war dec'ing you and your corp mates for your stupidity !
just STFU, chill out,
If you continue to be a baby with your whinging, whining, crappy self centred posts then be prepared for a evemail from concord.
Not a pleasent response, perhaps you should take your own advice and chill mate..tis a game after all. People can say whatever they wish, youve no need to read them, you know there would be plenty of comments like those that have made you angry. I dont agree with most, but why would a start to threaten?
Ive spent the last 2 hours sorting my garden out, it needed it, so ive filled my time. Sure im hacked off with waiting, but if id got a kind of reply from you like that, id wonder who the angry one really is....

God you whiners get on my nerves, climb down from the walls and realise CCP are working on a patch deployment - do you really have such empty RL lives that you cant deal without a game for 1 day while CCP deploy a patch to improve things.
Thanks for the updates Kieron, good luck with finding the problem.

I read a footnote once that estimated the number of possible states a program that takes up 16MB of RAM can have is substantially more than the number of particles in the universe [believe it was in my "Rootkits" book]. I wouldn't even want to begin to wonder how many possible states EVE could be in. If anyone here that is complaining knows how to test every possible state every patch to find those serious flaws that were missed by QA, I'm sure CCP would love to offer you a job.
If not, however, you have no right to complain. So shut up, kick back, grab a beer and watch a movie. It's patch day, you should have known better than to think you were going to play today. Even assuming a smooth deployment, you still have the hammering of download servers to get the patch. It's going to be awhile. Chill.
