Some of these issues was discovered in SiSi. The Blackbird camera position, the removal of the customization of the UI, that some icons has an incorrect meaning, etc. It was released despite that. The real problem is that CCP give the impression that they speed up the release of new expansions, but still don't change their way of doing things. If the next expansion contain some of the asked corrections (RGB sliders or grey background themes for my case), then I will gladly admit that I was wrong. But until then, I don't still believe that they have changed, their past (and the growing list of broken features) don't help to give them trust as unless there was an uprising and that we burned Jita, they just reject any feedback. I would love seeing an expansion who nearly only correct broken things... But they don't just "reject any feedback". A lot of feedback was incorporated into changes they made to the UI from when it was first announced to when it was released on TQ.

I like the new Map! But one thing kinda irks me...
The icons for the planets in the map are offset as if floating above the planets. I understand that it was probably intended for the user to be able to see the pale dots of planets, but they are so small...
Can we have a setting to use the icons to represent the planets so that they are in plane with the sun? |

You guys could have spent November having office parties without making a single change to Eve, and I would have been happier as a customer. I've logged in maybe 5 times for more than 30min since Rhea.
I've been off my holiday break for a week now, and I'm assuming CCP employees are trickling back into the office. Would a Dev please silence the crickets? Or do you guys save the "no-work" time until after you've driven people out of your game by adding improved-hyper-realistic play-dough/tinfoil ships and "modernized" UI changes? |

I have seen the new map on a video today, honestly I think it could look a little bit cleaner, especially when zoomed out. It's just my first impression though, will have to check it out on SISI. |

I dislike the messy star-speckled background. A map is a functional item and should show only the things a user might want to see, set against a plain background of a suitably contrasting colour.
RL examples:
A town map shows roads and prominent locations such as car parks, municipal buildings, hospitals, public parks etc on a plain background. It is not printed on a background showing a pictorial representation of a town .
A map of the countryside shows roads, towns, service areas, public phones in isolated areas, physical features relevant to the road user (such as steep gradients) etc on a plain background. It is not printed on a background of a country landscape. |

The PBR update needs some serious work. Right now the ships hulls look terrible. The lighting effect is great, but the surface on Gallente & Caldari ships look totally broken. Gallente ships look extremley wet/glossy. And Caldari ships look like plastic.
If I had to guess why this is happening, I'd place my bets on the textures & polygons. It looks like they implemented PBR, without also redesigning every ship texture to work in conjunction with it. Basically they upgraded a shader to increase realism, but didnt upgrade textures & polygons to MATCH with this new realistic effect.
Could a CCP dev please comment on this? Thank you. |

first of all i would like to thank you for the new beta map. i have a few suggestions: -the new route animation is definitely more visible than the old red line one, but it seems somehow low-tech -the map still opens upside down. it's hard to rotate the map every time you open it -when zoomed in, or zoomed out, the systems that are not in focus are too faded out -it's nice that you can zoom in to solar system view, but it is kinda useless, if we can't use scaning with it -if you press the home button, it should move the map to the system where you are, it shouldn't zoom in the solar system. usually you don't want to see the solar system, just the star -if you move the mouse, the constellation should be highlighted. i say should be, 'cause most of the times, one or more routes in a system don't get highlighted. |

Nice new map but some comments:
Make the map scrollable, like the old one. Maybe by holding the right mouse button down. At least for me that's the most important issue
Allow for color configuration, i.e. if I turn on statistics (number of players in system for..) the map really lacks on visibility (it's dark and grey) but actually I exactly use this map cfg most of the time.

Hello guys!
Generally I like the new UI very much. Looks fresh and all. Good work. But...
Have you considered changing the Selected Item buttons a bit? To make them a little more interesting? At the moment they look like there is something missing. Maybe add a frame to them, like the old buttons had. Or make them similar to the other buttons of the interface, like the Probe Scanner buttons. Or make the white halo a little more interesting, the simple white square that is appearing is just ugly and looks unprofessional.

At the moment the buttons look very simplistic, plain and boring. There is something missing to them, compared to the other nice buttons everywhere. The Selected Item looks kinda empty and unfinished. Please consider a simple rework of the buttons to make them more pop. |

Is there any plans to enable users of the new map to collapse/stack it by double clicking the top of the window like other windows?
Thanks. |
