It works well on my Nokia 5500. :)
Only thing was, when I had entered userID/API and it downloaded user info, an error message; Unexpected result: java.lang.NullPointerException: 0 appeared after a while, though it apparently has had no effect on the program's function.

It works perfectly on my Sony Ericsson W910i. I was hoping there'd be a tool out there that allowed me to check my skills training while on the move, and this is just perfect! Now for that mobile Eve client so I can actually change my skills and play the market while I'm on the go...
Thank you very much!

No, you don't need full api. Just make sure you type it correctly :) Don't know how you tried doing it, but I copied it into word and made the font bigger, it became very easy to see what was 0, O and 1 or l. If you're still having trouble, type the letters or numbers below the api you just copied, and compare.

OK, a little problem: My timezone is GMT+2 (and everything about local time zone works in the program). However, if I choose Add to Calendar it adds another 2 hours to the alert. So if a skill finishes in 0300 EVE-time, it should appointed 0500 in my calendar, but the alert will set for 0700.

Check your phone time settings, I am also GMT+2 time zone (now GMT+3 due to summer time zone), and my calender alert was set ok. EvE Mobile shows 13:52, the calendar alert was set to 16:52. |

First, I would like to congratulate you (Jaabaa) on a great application. I love having my training status at my finger-tips.
I have the BlackBerry Curve 8310 on AT&T. I was able to install EMSP v3.1.3 via OTA installation almost perfectly. I say "almost perfectly" because my BlackBerry required me to power it off and then turn it back on to get EMSP to load my accounts characters using my Account Info and API Keys. I sometimes receive an error when I update, but I have a feeling that has to do with my connection and not the actually application. The time is displayed correctly and it adds entries to my calendar at the correct time the skill will be done training,I have the "Fix Timezone" option not active or X'd out. Although with it on my calendar entries will be about 5 hours earlier (I am -5 GMT, or Eastern Standard Time).
Having said that, I was curious if Mobile Manager was available on the BlackBerry version? I cannot seem to access it at all, or find where it would be. That is not a huge deal though. Also, I was wondering what the difference between the Character Page "Update" function and the Accounts Page "Import" function. What does the "Export" function do?
Lastly, are you still looking for someone who is able to assist in developing the BlackBerry portion of this application? _Marcus the First :: [IPWNU] CEO_ |

I am using the Blackberry Curve and just downloaded the app for the first time. Installed well and seems to run. I created my first character and entered the User ID and API. scrolled up to Load and received an error "Unexpected result - java.io.IDException: invalid tunnel name"
API key entered manually and then copy and pasted... same error.
How to fix??

Try completely restarting your 8310. I use the Curve as well, and had to restart my BB completely before the application worked. Let me know if that works. _Marcus I :: [SYN.] CEO_ |

Sorry for not being responsive but RL got in the way.
1) I don't know what is causing the random NPEs, but it would appear that the rest of the application is handling it correctly and informing you, the users.
2) I don't have a BlackBerry, so all the model names and your trials and tribulations remain that. Some people say a cold start gets it going and others say that it works a treat, and some say that nothing helps. So, as they say in the world of free software, YMMV.
Glad to see that the rest of you can enjoy the benefits of a mobile skill monitor (planner?). -- EVE Mobile Skill Planner V3 !! http://evemsp.sourceforge.net/ |

I don't have either of your phones, but do you have some kind of connection rights option or query that you said "NO" to ?
I can't imagine this error unless the App couldn't connect to the server (DNS problem) or the App was refused access to the internet to get your skill profiles. -- EVE Mobile Skill Planner V3 !! http://evemsp.sourceforge.net/ |

Hi is there anyway to make this work on my N-Gage Classic? When I try to install it the progress bar completes and then it says removing, then it tells me application error and shuts down the installation. Does this mean, as I suspect, that the N-Gage's Java platform isn't MIDP 2.0 and/or CLDC 1.1 compatible?

okay. Ive been reading alot of post in this topic and alot of people seem to be having problems with using this program with there blackberry.
If your getting this error: java.io.IOException: Open Tunnle -Failure
or something like that. then i may have a fix for you. Ive only tested this "fix" for my phone (Blackberry 8700) Intructions- On the BlackBerry, go to Options > Security Options > TLS > TLS Default and set it from Proxy to Handheld Still on the BlackBerry, go to Options > Advanced Options > TCP > APN and set it to wap.voicestream.com with no Username or Password set (Reference) Reboot the Phone

Edited by: thelung187 on 09/06/2008 20:03:33 **Blackberry Success!!**
First off, thanks to Jaabaa for a truely badass application. Very nice to have this on my mobile phone.
I wrote up a bit of a walkthrough while I was here at work for everyone who is on a Blackberry and is having some severe troubles (like I was earlier):
1. First and foremost, you MUST upgrade your handset to it's latest OS version. That is NOT the DESKTOP manager, but the HANDSET operating system. Currently, I am using a Blackberry 8100 Pearl from T-Mobile, latest OS is 4.2.1.107 (you can find this by going onto your Blackberry and going to Options --> About)
You can find your carrier-specific Blackberry update page at the following link: http://www.blackberryforums.com/rim-software/58404-latest-operating-system-available-each-blackberry-device.html
2. After updating your handset, go to http://www.alexalas.co.uk/EMSP/emsp.jad on your handset (typing exactly as it looks)
3. If you are on BB OS 4.2.1.107 or higher, your application will prompt that this is not a trusted source (lol @ Jaabaa), just click yes and allow it to finish installing.
4. After it has installed, go to Options --> Advanced Options --> Applications --> emsp i. With emsp highlighted, hit the Menu button, scrolled down to Edit Permissions, and continue on. ii. Set ALL permissions from their default of "custom" to "ALLOW", menu button --> Save and quit.
5. Go to Options --> Security Options --> TLS --> and change it from Proxy to Handheld. Save and quit.
6. Go to Options --> Advanced Options --> TCP --> and change the APN to wap.voicestream.com. Leave the username/password as empty, and save your settings. NOTE that is only for T-Mobile users, Google for your carrier's respect APN info.
7. PULL THE BATTERY on the phone, do not just shut it off. Put the battery back in, option EMSP, and you're good to go to put in your User ID/Limited/Full Keys.
TROUBLESHOOTING
- I am receiving a 901 something or other COD error. You're using an old Blackberry OS version. Upgrade you nubje!!
- I am receiving a 202/203 authentication error after inputting my API credentials! You've either mistyped something or just have fat fingers. This is not a provider authentication error (in relation to APN), but rather CCP refusing to authenticate your mis-typed info. If you get this message, it's a mixed blessing; you're communicating with the Eve API servers, which is good, but have mistyped the API login information, which is bad. Recheck all of your information, VERIFYING case-sensitivity. In this case, Q!=q, and z!=Z. Also, make sure you're typing ZEROES when appropriate and not capital O's.
That's basically all I know, took some forum/google-whoring, but I have my full char profile on my phone up and working! Also, remember you don't have a back-key unless you set one, you can't use the standard back-arrow key, so use something like the number 3.
Good luck, and thanks again to Jaabaa for a great app!!!
PS Jaabaa... in the skills section, in the next release, can you make it so that the highlighted skill tree is a bit more... ahem... obvious? Currently (at least on a BB), you just sorta need to "know" that whatever skill is in the middle is the one that is expanded in the tree, was a little confusing at first.
