I'll try to make it work with proxy as soon as possible. In the meanwhile you can set your skills manually using right-click menu in the skill tree.

It would also be nice to have a button to search all items and not need to keep chaning from normal/facion.
Other then that amazing program so far!

Edited by: Takahashi Arran on 03/07/2007 23:57:06 THis is an amazing tool, however :
Double clicking NEEDS to fit the module, I actually visited this thread to work out how to do it. The current drag+drop method is difficult and because of the small area to drag unintuitive
You need to add the new hardwirings as options :)

I'm just messing with EFT right now and love it so far. I created four setups and found it to be a breeze after getting used to it. The interface and functionality make it much more appealing to me than QuickFit, which also always slowed my (rather aged) box down to a crawl due to it being Java. I do have a few spontaneous suggestions though.

Double clicking NEEDS to fit the module [..]
Having this option would indeed be more convenient for the user. Would it be possible to implement it and default the adding of the module in question to the currently highlighted setup window? Doubleclicking on an already fitted mod should in turn remove it.
- An excellent feature which I'd love to see in EFT (even though it would be a blatant QuickFit ripoff) would be the "last slot" option. I sometimes find myself in the situation where I am left with a free slot and can't make my mind up on what to fit and appreciate having this possibility. Sometimes I even get a new idea from it.
- Also, a nice ergonomic change would be the implementation of standard Windows Ctrl and Shift keys while dragging & dropping. E. g. having fitted a specific gun to let's say a battleship, you could then simply Ctrl + drag the gun from the high slot to another high slot, a "+" sign would appear next to the transparent icon, and it would be "cloned", well, copied over to the next slot. Doing the same thing while holding down "Shift" could move the module in question to another slot or switch positions with a module if there already is one in the destination slot - which would be purely cosmetic, but would help keeping a setup tidy.
- Rightclicking on fitted modules should also open the specific market group and show the entries (similar to the ammo function for guns) to present you with alternatives. It would be more convenient than manually finding the item in question in the integrated browser, especially if you just cannot think of the damn name (it happens all too often).
- On a last note, the bottom left window showing the search matches (and especially group entries if using the item browser) should be sortable; if you click on the "Name" tab, they should be sorted alphabetically. If you click on the "CPU" tab, it should be sorted by values; if you click it again, the sorting will be reversed, etc.. just like in windows explorer or the market window in Eve itself.
All the suggestions aside, so far EFT looks like epic pwn to me. I salute you for creating a program which offers a lot of functionality and giving it to the community for use

Edited by: Igus on 04/07/2007 03:54:35 Also just a thought while using this great tool. How about instead of making the 'Defense' instead of showing the average and the specific values as a mouse over to just make the box bigger and show each resist type and its stats. Makes fitting for ratting/missions a bit faster!
Or just add a preference option that allows the user to select between the different display mods, though i guess that would be a good bit more complected.
(*hehe it should also be labeled Defense not Defence, programing IDE's really need spell checkers in them, been there many times. *) :)

OK, wow. I couldn't test before because I was at work, but this is looking great!
A few issues: * I am also getting the corrupted icons bug. Running Win2000, I'll be happy to provide more info if you need it. * Please don't make Ctrl+C toggle the character window. I'm sure everyone is used to it being copy and it will just be confusing this way. * Can we have a way of exporting a setup (in XML) to share with friends or whatever?
I'll post more requests as I think them up, great work so far! --- Proud Amarr pilot.

Fast and responsive program, easy on the eyes.
Aside from the double clicking not equipping stuff gripe, it'd be nice to have a "perfect skills" feature, just to see max DPS possible, whether something is possible to fit, etc. *snip* please keep sigs EVE-related. Contact [email protected] if you have any further questions - Karass Sayfo |

Great tool! One suggestion. It would be great if hot new ship designs you've made up were more accessible than from the click-ships, find ship, click design way you get to them now.
An item bar (think Photoshop) on the right with ships and characters you've got hotlisted would be super. Or something similar. I like to go back to the same design over and over and fiddle and it's slow opening the ship browser and finding it etc etc.

Originally by: NoNah Oh, and the option to import through .xml would be great.
I disabled such option. CCP are going to remove ability to export XML soon so only valid way to get your skills would be through API.
An XML-import option would also be handy for those of us that work with really heavy network restrictions. Love the app so far, but this is the one thing that would push me back to Quickfit to be honest.
(And yes, I know I should be doing work at work, but I still have lunch times free y'know...)

In Skill overview, having marked one skill (like Electronics) but right-clicking on another skill (like Multitaksing) opens the RMB skill-set menu for the old skill (Electronics in this case). However it should automatically mark the new skill (Multitasking) and then open the RMB menu for it.
Otherwise there are twice as much clicks needed to set skills, which is very annoying after 1-2 minutes.
And there should be a way to import skills via XML as well. I don't feel comfortable with giving a third party app any of my access data, even if its only for skill monitoring. -- This game is still in beta stage |
