Is anyone else having EFT reporting stupidly low speed numbers after playing around with a fit for awhile? I can switch it to max skills and it will show something stupid like 615m/s for a Huginn with 2x Overdrive II's and a 10mwd activated. If I delete the setup entirely and make it over from scratch it usually fixes the problem, but comes up again after I play around with a few things.
It seems to happen after I stick a mod on that overloads the available power grid, after I remove the mod is about when I usually notice speed has gone through the floor. I haven't nailed down exactly what is causing it, but it's really annoying.

Found a bug.. Not likely to be something people encounter a lot but still ;)
Open the Ship Browser, double-click on a ship with no fitting-plans. When you get asked to name a new plan, press the cancel-button and watch the glorious Access Violation error. ;) ------------------------------------- Bill Gates: What's that?!? I think i found a another bug in 2.4.1: I can't import setups from clipboard which have a capacitor booster. It results in an "Floating point division by zero" error.
to reproduce: create a new fitting on any ship fit any capacitor booster use "Copy to Clipboard" paste the fitting in text editor change the fitting name change to EFT and click "Yes" to import the fitting "Floating point division by zero"

Edited by: HINENUITEPO on 30/12/2007 06:01:02 Is anyone else having a problem with getting EFT connecting to get your char information?
I connected yesterday with API just fine and set up 3 chars but today I can't get it to connect to update or to setup a new char. It keeps saying "connection failed"
Anyone else?

Im having problems importing character information as well. I finally got it to recognize the api and ask me which character to import, but once I select the character and hit ok it does nothing. The character is not available in the skills drop down or anything anywhere. Yesterday I couldn't even get the api to recognize.

Yes. I've been trying to pin down the speed issue (I noticed it working on Flycatchers. It seems to be off by 10x) and I just noticed a problem with grid while working on a Rifter speed fit (EFT shows grid approaching 100% while in game it's about 60%).
I'll try to get some better data after New Years Day.

Edited by: Krollin on 02/01/2008 15:18:04 Hi,
First off, I would just like to say thanks for such a great tool, very impressive indeed.
Now, I am not sure if this is a bug, or if this is actually correct:
Looking at the base damage modifiers for 450mm AC's - T2 and Domination the latter obviously does more damage. However when adding the weapon to the Sleipnir the T2 varient has better overall DPS. Thinking that it might be my skills I used the 'All level V' option, and was surprised to see it still comes off worse, surely this cant be right?
Many thanks in advance

prolly coz t2 variant has one more bonus then t1/named/faction. which is why a caldari t2 missile launcher will fire faster then the arbalest, since the t2 skill gives bonus to the rof..

Athalian,
Checking last night I realised that the T2 was getting an additional bonus, whereas the Faction one was not.
Thanks for clarifying this for me, guess I will stick to the T2 version, also explains why I was having difficulty finding any on contracts.
Cheers,

Very nice app. Nice and quick to check out a couple of fittings.
However - and this is probably me - I can't seem to figure out how and where I can check how many DPS I can tank? I think it should be somewhere. I don't really get the 'defense' bit where you get 'what is 0% of 0 damage', if that is what I'm supposed to look at for the tank.
Thanks :)

In what way ? The resistance bonuses for some T2 ships such as the AFs are given in a rather confusing way - they are stated in the description as being applied per level of the racial frigate skill on top of those of the T1 base ship, but the base values in the info already include the full bonuses with Frigate V because you need that anyway to be able to fly the AF at all. That means the 80/70 therm/kin are already the final resists you get without modules or rigs. I've never found EFT off on the resists of any AF (and I fly them all).

Originally by: Raz Gulderoi Eve fit tool is lying to me. In particular it doesn't calculate cap recharge rate accurately. I had been noticing discrepancies between what EFT was telling me and what I was actually getting. Obviously, I had imported my char using the API and fitted the ship exactly as in game.
In order to do a sanity check and ensure that its EFT that is wrong I checked a Hyperion, completely unfitted, and with no skills. According to EFT you get a recharge rate of 12.
This is incorrect. The correct value is 7200/1500 = 4.8.
Not a huge discrepancy, but it gets much worse as soon as you use skills and cap rechargers etc.
Is there a quick fix for this? I'm using V 2.4.1
Capacitor reaches its peak recharge rate at roughly 40% of capacity. It does not recharge at a flat rate per second. The closer your cap gets back towards being full the slower it recharges. Hence you need to use the little formula Gripen gave and not just CAP / RECHARGE TIME.
It's actually around 30%, but otherwise, you're correct. Expressed as a graph, the cap recharge rate peaks at 30% remaining and is very small close to 0% and 100%.
That is correct. It is indeed a Bell Graph with the apex located at the 33.3...% mark. ------------------- ნỊs uʍop əpỊsdn Support the introduction of Blaze M crystals for Amarr! |

Would it be possible to have an option to 'lock' a fit.
i.e. sometimes I load a fit I like, and forget to 'duplicate' it before editing. Since it 'auto-saves' - I overwrite my previous setup :(

This happens to me all the time as well. I have to set it manually after every download.
If you use any other program supporting api import (like EveMon), can you check if this skill imported there correctly?
Yes, API import correctly at ineve.net. Note that I have Salvage Drone Operation - this may be causing problems.

If that's true, then that seems a little unfair from a game design perspective. Normal tech 2 Caldari ships all have, initially, the 0 / 80 / 70 / 60 resistances. What shield resistance bonuses they have are in -addition- to that.
Perhaps the Caldari assault frigates simply don't have their stated shield bonuses in the game.

Just a reminder to anyone that is using eft. the resistances of 2.41 are bugged. they still take into effect the previous hardener skills that add to active hardeners while active. You need to actively take off the hardener skills on your character if you want to find the true active hardener tank and then read them later once your done using it.
