Hmm! It must be something with vista I guess? I thought it was supposed to be like that :P My setup isn't anything super odd, so I don't know why it would be doing this if it shouldn't be.
Anyone else using vista - can you confirm if you've got black backgrounds on your icons too?
*edit* If I turn on high contrast colours, the icons work a bit better (alpha blending edges are still black, but rest is transparent). I'm using Vista Ultimate 64bit SP1 with an nVidia 8600GTS card using 175.19 drivers.

When i drop booster to config, i receive access violation message :( Activating ,deactivating and attempt to delete booster effect give me that message again. When i close EFT and open it again, configuration for ship using booster functionality was removed.

Yup. Noticed stuff like that happen too when trying to use the 'Boosters and Imlpants' bit. Access violation messages, not being able to remove it, and in the end the ship configuration gets broken. The config name changes, selecting it gives more violation errors. I had to go into the <shipname>.cfg from the 'Setups' folder and delete the setup manually from that file in a text editor.

Odd, I'm using vista and I can't get the skills to import. I have downloaded twice now. Any ideas?
Nevermind: I had to change the firewall settings and the proxy server in the EFT.

I'm a big fan of this program and I thank everyone involved for all the effort that has gone into the project, but I have to say I'm getting quite tired of downloading individual updates.
After extracting the file, I gotta transfer setups, characters, and faction damage profiles each time, and after so many versions it's beginning to get on my nerves.
Are there any plans to implement and auto-update feature into the program? Surely someone somewhere would be willing to host a server for that feature.
Quick suggestion also: Instead of leaving most people in the dark that you need to ctrl+click to display multiple classes of modules at once (market, faction, complex, commander), why not just make them into check boxes that people can select to display them. You could erase it from the FAQ at that point.

Is there any chance of an option to disable tooltips? If I mouse over a ship "?" and then move the mouse away before the tooltip appears, once it does appear it won't disappear until the mouse moves over the "?" again. It's very aggravating, because a tooltip covers everything. I'm on vista btw.

Shaking screen seems linked to column size, also getting memory access problems after using drugs. The first time of trying to add them seems to have broken EFT permanently as it just throws these memory errors continuously now.

If you delete the fitting where you used the Boosters & Imlpants part, the errors should go away. You might have to go into the Setups folder, and manually delete the fitting from the appropriate ship .cfg file

No errors with EFT here, however small bug.
In the dps figure, smartbomb dps does not get its own category.
It shows
Total DPS: 55
Turret DPS: 49
It omits to show the smartbomb DPS as a category.

bug report, should be a relatively easy fix:
I made a damage profile with a comma in the name, and it hosed things when eft tried to load everything up the next time I launched it.

I was scratching my head trying to figure out how to add a character before I realize all the icons are missing... I Just downloaded from the front page less than an hour ago. I'm on XP with the traditional layout, in case it matters.

I'm experiencing a very odd bug with 2.8, and it seems to be specific to skills somehow (because it doesn't happen with "without skills" character choice selected). You can reproduce it using the "all level v" character it seems too.
If you select a Vulture, and try to add t2 invuln fields (which is one way it happens - there are other modules which seem to cause it to happen too, or it might be caused by stuff in the midslots - not sure what causes it exactly) to the midslots. If the bug happens for you, the fitting screen should flicker a bunch of times (it eventually stops). Happens every time you try to change something on the fitting screen until you remove whatever causes it in the first place.
Quite annoying, and also makes me wonder if it's causing other problems too (incorrect fitting report, etc...). This is a brand new ship fitting too - so not caused by version upgrade or anything.

Hi, Love you EFT, it's a great 'What if' tool. but I think you may need to review your CPU algorithm. It seems it's off, for my character by 3.75 tf w/ every ship. Of course Quick Fit isnt much better, atleast your closer in your estimates.
Keep it going love the work, and the tool.

I used EFT a long time, without problems, but now the "supergau" had happend.
EFT killed my ship-setups!
It began with a setup which the all V char that had not enough PG so i klick on the +3% right from the PG numbers and i get an error, i tried to go back and set no implant, but this was no help i get errors and cant do anything. So i closed it and reopen it => Error

I made a fresh install and copied over my chars and setups and the error comes every start.
Then i discovered that 15 setup files are gone!
And every time those 15 setups get deleted, whenever i start EFT.

I would love to have a FULL API referenced version that allows you to import your own ships and their attached mods (assets) to check their setups.
This could check ships that are not in the system you are currently in. If you need to buy anything to fit it better, you can do so on the way to pick up the ship.
Like the 'Ship Browser', a menu item for 'My Ship Browser' to allow you to select a ship you currently own. As it is imported into the fitting window, the current fit is added to it. If you can them modify the fit to see what would work better, you would then create a shopping list. In addition to this, it could easily check your assets and tell you where you have these items stored or if you need to go shopping for them.
