I have had a petition in to CCP for well over a month in regard to the invention hardwirings that were added to the new LP store when Revelations II was released.
My question was basically this:
1) Do they work, specifically the GI-2?
2) If the GI-2 does work, what is the bonus applied? The bonus is missing from the description.
My first response came in after 2 weeks or so and the GM who replied stated that after asking around, no one seemed to know. I asked to have this petition escalated to someone in CCP who was more familiar with the game. After another 2 weeks another GM responded, this time with a more direct, but disturbing answer.
The GM's answer in summary:
1) The Hardwirings DO NOT WORK currently.
2) CCP is deciding whether to fix them or just pull them from the game. This decision is going to happen soon.
3) CCP apologizes for any "trouble".
So, if you already have one of these hardwirings installed like me, you now know why your invention jobs aren't getting any better. Your quarter billion investment (more or less) is definitely not returning anything currently.
If you do not have one of these hardwirings yet and were thinking of buying one, or have one you were going to plug in, bear in mind the fact that they may just be removed. If they are removed, it will probably happen without any warning, solely based on CCP's past record of doing things like this. I also doubt there will be any kind of reimbursement if the items are removed (stolen) by CCP.
That is all, you may now return to your regularly scheduled forum programming.

There are several post on the subject
We dont know nothing about this implant (and his brother GI-1) We have never received a dev response about it
I am surprised that a petition can have such a reply, where in official forum nothing is said and we can listen a strange silence about the problem.
there are several "known issue" about implants .. but nothing about invention (to say the true ... as there is nothing in the implant description, there is in fact no possible error)
So Kesslee your suggestion is that for the moment the GI1 and the GI2 are only box with nothing inside, which can even vanish ...
CCP please read this thread ... we need something official

I sort of felt something was up when the first response took so long, and I had to escalate the petition just to get a very simple yes/no answer about a specific game item. This petition has been 'handled' by no less than 3 GMs now. It's not so much the LP and isk that got spent, it just feels like another bait-n-switch.
CCP did turn my old Starbase Tactical Officer skillbook into something usable instead of just deciding to just remove it. I hope they decide to at least do something similar here.

This actually really sucks. I've just spent 2 weeks training cyber V on my bloody alt for the SOLE PURPOSE of using these implants.
I'm gonna be ****ed if they drop these implants

there are two implants for the same slot and iirc similar descriptions ("increased skill in invention"). This 'Draftsman' and the other one nicked 'Shaman'.
Are those 'Shaman's not working and going to be removed as well?
My guess is yes.

I've finished cybernetics lvl5 yesterday and plugged the implant in.
Dear CCP, if it doesn't work or you are unclear about implementing the items, then don't release them!

The unfortunate truth is that often times on these types of issues CCP doesnt realize they dont work until we tell them. Or that if something works too well they dont know until somebody whines like the Rokh outmining the Hulk.
Oh well, I guess we can always buy the excuse that it is a big game, there are only so many developers and QA people, and it is really our responsibility as paying customers to log on to the test server and fully test everything we might want to do as well as items that we feel may be overpowered in order to avoid investing time and money into modules and implants CCP creates and puts in the game before they just take/nerf them away.

An update:
I just received another response to my petition and CCP assures now that these hardwirings will either be fixed or reimbursed if removed, 'when the time comes'. It would also seem that fixing them is their priority.
Thank you!
A fair resolution appears forthcoming, so I am happy my investment will not go to waste.
I am left wondering why CCP does not put all unfinished stuff like this on the known issues page? CCP already knew these hardwirings were unfinished and not working when the expansion was released. Simple disclosure would eliminate confusion and bad feelings I would think. It shouldn't be that hard to poll each developer prior to an update for a list of anything not completed.

We would never remove something that is ingame like that, would be silly indeed and not very fair on you. The fix requires programming time which means it is unlikely to be fixed in kali 2.2 (our next content patch) sadly, however Greyscale is dealing with it and will keep you apprised and when and how the implants will be fixed.

It was swapped to a different rig, auxilliary thrusters. Mind you, that rig was nowhere near as good, but it wasn't just outright removed.

What I meant was that the MWD rig was removed from the game. I know it was replaced with the aux thrust rig, but that thing's a piece of **** so meh. Plus the MWD rig was much more expensive than the aux thrust rig iirc, so for all those who spent a ton of isk on it, they got ripped off.
They should have just rebalanced it, not flat-out remove it =\

Well, I know a lot of BPO holders had their BPOS "changed" from what they had bought to something other than what they had bought. Sure, you can argue it wasnt deleted. But to my mind when the thing you once owned is no longer there and has been replaced with an item of lesser value, that is a deletion.

One would think that putting the implants in stores, setting prices on them, and putting them into production would require programming time, and even *gasp* QA time, but alas, we are dealing with CCP here.
Way to prove everyone wrong, CCP.

Thank you Chronotis for a response to yet another issue. Will the implants work as specified? Or will they somehow work in a diminished capacity?

I don't believe they were ever 'specified' as to how they would work :\ I assume they will be coded to work as 'intended' though.

I thought the same thing, that it wasn't helping, in fact that it was doing the reverse. Turns out it was just a string of bad luck; 15 HAC invention jobs failing in a row.
So I did a analysis of a 100 invention jobs with and a 100 without implant. End result: Without: 51.75 % of time success With: 57.5 % of time success
I'll admit to not doing an actual statistical analysis. aka figuring out the variance and crap. So maybe I need to do a lot more then a 1000 tests each, but I don't wanna take the time.
It was with L4 encryption methods, L5 main science skill, and L4 secondary science skill. No decryptors. No T1 item.

With the exception of course of removing copy slots from being usable via alliances. I no longer need half of my mobile labs due to this issue, and can't see CCP refunding me for the inconvenience. And we are talking closer to 6 billion isk here, not 250m on a simple implant.
Now you have new copy slots on the new advanced labs, and I hope the alliance issue has at least been resolved, or you are wasting your time bringing them out in the first place.
