Nice Blog so far and I hope a nice expansion. Thanks to Chronotis for clarifications (specially for drone-bandwith).
BUT: 1) Drones: Will we get a new UI for commanding drones? PLEASE! And please make it possible to undock it from Overview! 2) T2 ships: No special salvaging ship? 3) Heat: Will we get any incentives for using Heat? What¦s about Heat for mining etc.? 4) Boosters: Make it easier to distribute them and make the current boosters more useable. The manufacturing process itself is ok, but it¦s quite difficult to get all the needed skills, reactions, BPCs etc and then it¦s very difficult to sell them. 5) Exploration: Multispectral probe fix only in Rev 3? WHY? Please also add the number of found plexes to the results of the multispectral probe. Please also take a look at cost (risk + time) vs reward of exploration. And scanning hours for single plexes is really no fun. So perhaps you should overwork the scanning process once again.
a) WHAT happened to faction warfare? b) Please give us more information to all features as soon as possible, so that we can give comments on it. c) Please release the features (all of them!) to Sisi as soon as possible, so we can test them as much as possible. Only release the patch, when all features are working correctly for 2 weeks on Sisi.

In regards to interdiction based cruisers......
While watching the tourney, I thought a lot about how Eve combat would be different if we didn't have the being called primary/warpout tactic we have today. While scramblers and disruptors do have a role, they have always been best suited for small gang warfare anyway.
I was thinking, what about a truly "mobile" warp inhibitor in these new cruisers. These new cruisers would emit warp disruption fields at a radius of say 40km (or whatever is deemed appropriate) instead the static bubbles we see today. The only difference being they once the ship explodes, the bubble would of course collapse.
This would not be a warp bubble but merely a warp inhibitor, causing targets not to get caught in a bubble, but just unable to warp away. Targets wouldn't get "sucked in" like normal bubbles do.
Thoughts?

Interdiction Cruiser?!? You gotta be kiddin' right?
What should they be for? I can't see them going faster then a Interdictor unless they get a speed-bonus and minimum 5 Low-Slots.
Useless I say, or do they all have a Web-Range-Bonus?
Trash this idea and come up with something useful like an Assault Destroyer or EW-Battlecruisers. .

wouldnt it be easier just to limit the bonus on certain ships (myrmidon, vexor, arbitrator, ishkur, etc.) to medium or light drones? this way they could still field heavy drones, but unbonussed.
additionally, this would make the dominix not so uber against everything, since only heavy drones would be used with bonus.

A generic comment about the new T2 ships (a I suspect some ancillary new module):
as the BPO lottery has been closed the BPO will not be seeded with that method. Putting a limited number on sale in market will be even worse.
So the only metod of production will be invention.
But a probable invention cost for BS of 62 ME datacores and 62 starship engineering datacores, plus 50 millions from the decryptor (I think all the best decriptors will reach the same price of the Gallente model), we are speaking of 150 millions from each attempt (minimum, probably datacore prices will increase too), with a approximated success ratio of 25%.
That is 600 millions for a 5 ship BPC, with a 50% material malus.
A big increase in cost from the basic production cost.
I will get even worse for smaller ships, where the added cost, especially of the decryptors will have a larger impact.
The 4 decryptor needed (on average) to get 1 BPC will cost around 200 millions, so every ship produced will have an added cost of 40 millions, indipendently if it is a frigate or a BS.
Not using a decryptor on smaller ship will reduce this added cost but at the same time will reduce the number of ships produced from 5 to 1, so it will cost around 15 millions in datacores to get a 1 run BPC, still getting a serious increase in the production cost of the ship.
I think that beside a better chance of a successfull invention of the ships, the number of basic runs produced with a small ship BPC should be higher than the number produced with a larger ship BPC as the prices for the used item, in particular decryptors, will be influenced by the return from the more rewarding ships (almost certanly the BS, like today the Hulk set the price for the gallenge decryptors) and will "strangle" small ship production.

Quote: Better kill-mail system
The aim of the review is to overhaul the killmail system, shifting it to a kill log available in the character sheet as a standard table, thus allowing a rich format view while keeping the current classic text format. The main benefit being the kill records are always persisted and won't fill your evemail inbox. All participants will be recorded and shown (no longer truncated at 20), NPC final blows (where NPC fired the death shot) will be shown and the kill log will update the highest damaging player as the recipient of the log update. Rigs and dropped items will be included alongside destroyed items. We hope this delivers.
How about the missing Implants on the pod killmails? Lickspittle said it was a bug a long time ago and the bug was assigned to him afaik.

Will these Tech 2 ships have a BPO, and if so where will it come from ?
Where has your head been than you haven't heard of invention?
BPO's my friend, its all about BPO's.
While Im not sure of the long term market affect of NO BPO's, I still think BPO's have a stabalizing effect on the market while invention exists.
Yes, thats why when we had BPOs only cerb "stabilized" at 300mil isk/piece and with crappy and useless invention they are 70mil/piece.
Pretty much given time invention can fill the BPO gap w/o problems.

Why then is asking what will happen with bandwidth on ships an unreasonable request? If a geddon got another 500 cubes of drone bay, but was reduced to 3 heavy drones in total, it would be a signifigant nerf to the ship. Similar for the phoon and many other ships that have drone bays that seem to be designed to carry multipule flights.
You spoke too soon. Read the dev post a couple posts after yours. I correctly interpreted their intent. Try to stop failing.
Why would they change the number of heavy drones fielded by the Geddon to less than what it has now? The devs have worked hard to develop the current balance state. I don't see them messing with that in such a direction.
And so what if it did? If you end up not liking the changes then train something else. This isn't WoW. You're not stuck playing a Rogue or whatever. If something is so overpowered, start using it.

Drones will take different amounts of bandwidth to control at once, and each ship will have a maximum bandwith. 5 drones out at once will still be the max.
Small drones will take up 1 bandwidth, meds 3, and heavies 5. The new drones might have better stats, but use more bandwidth each than the regular ones we have currently. Not sure if Tech 2 will cost more bandwidth than tech 1s.
Example ships. Drake and Domi.
The Drake currently has 25m3 of drone bay. Instead, it will have a bandwidth of 5, and perhaps a drone bay of 50 to 75m3. This still caps out the drake pilot at 5 light drones or one heavy, but now he can hold some spares if they die in combat.
Domi currently has 375m3 of drone bay. Instead, it will have a bandwidth of 25 (or possibly higher to accomodate some of the new drones). This will allow it to control 5 heavies at a time. Its drone bay size may well increase to 500m3 or more, to hold multiple waves of drones, or different damage type ones, logistics, webbers, EW, ect.
Of course, that's a total guess, but it does sound good. =D
And wouldnt just increasing drone bays do the same thing? This bandwidth thing has me worried with no other info.
No. Increasing the drone bay of the drake to 50 or 75 will allow it to control 3-5 medium drones and 2-3 heavy drones more than current. The bandwidth, as hypothetically presented, would limit that drake to still only using five light drones, only the assortment could be different instead of only having one option in your bay when you undock.
This new change, hypothetically, could allow a drake to carry 5 light ECM drones, 5 warrior IIs and 1 stasis webifier drone if it so chooses (as an example), increasing its versatility but not overbalancing the fundamentals of the ship.
Make sense?

As normal dictors with good setup can kill ships up to cruisers (and here they already have some problems) i guess cruiser dictors will be able to kill up to battleships (also with small problems). Anyways its the typical "griefmobile" and you will understand when you see one that it doesnt need speed to catch targets.

Long time since I read about the graphic engine...
What exactly is trinity 2?
Is it the update to the current client for DX9 and XP or is it the engine for Vista/DX10? and will station and ship models aswell as planets(and other objects in space) be updated all at once?

Congratz on a awsome blog.
However, i would like to ask that u rethink on drones mwd speed.
Problem is that, a char with max drones skills (drones navigation5 etc etc) light t2 drones cant catch a orbiting interceptor.
For a BS/cruiser/frig this may not be the end of the world, but for a carrier it is.
Couple days ago i was tackled by a crow, and i could not go anywhere because he was orbiting me at 17km, and even light t2 warriors could not hit him .. finally backup arrived and i got owned.
He was out of webber range, nos didnt work, and drones could not keep up.

LOL. That will never happen. Remember this post when you find out that the Myrm has had it's 'bandwidth' limited so that it can fly only four or maybe three heavy drones at the most, and then get it's drone bay expanded slightly.
The 'bandwidth' concept is custom made to nerf the Myrm. If the devs wanted to make the Myrm a decent drone ship and allow 5x heavies, plus some backup, they would have done it a long time ago.

The last thing the devs are going to do is nerf the Geddon, or any other non-Gallente ship. Or buff any Gallente ship. Just won't happen. Too many whiners.
My predictions for Rev3:
Myrm get's it's bandwidth reduced so it can fly 3-4 heavy drones max, with slight increase in drone space.
Damps get raped, being reduced to near uselessness.
All non-Gallente drone ships get their drone bays increased, but with limiting bandwidth, so that the number/size of drones able to be used remains the same. Big buff for those ships (read: everything but Gallente). I don't see the Ishtar or Dominix getting anything out of this bandwidth change. Maybe the Vexor, but that's it.
I'm looking forward to the recon frigs, killmail changes, and possibly the 'Violator' BSs. Recon BSs will probably suck for anything I'd actually want to do (i.e. PVP).
Dictor cruisers might be funny.
Backup drones for ships in general will make it much harder for smaller ships to kill off larger ones, as you're going to have to kill off wave after wave of small/medium drones.
Ships like the Dominix, Eos, Vexor and Ishtar will lose some of their advantage of flexibility with drones as other ships become more versatile due to increased drone bay size and are able to field different damage types and other specialty drones, just like the drone specific ships.

Greetings All,
Thank you Oveur for such great detail in the blog. I do have to say, though, that this update is rather a disappointment. You started out Revelations so well, with the addition of titles, roles, wallet divisions for corporations, and other much needed corporate facilities, but when it comes to the crunch you have let these advancements slide into oblivion and replaced them with stalwart "ship additions". When can we expect to see publicly available PoS lab slots, when will we be able to direct lab slot incomes to a specific wallet division. These are things that are much needed in the day-to-day running of a corporation. Not more shiny ships that do much the same thing as a well fitted ship already available.

You are wrong. The only ships that will lose advantage will be ship which have more dronbay that they can launch (more than 125m3) I can name only two such ships - Dominix and Ishtar. Imho Vexor and Eos will applaud to such boost.

A list of questions - I would really like to see answers for:
1. Accelarating skill learning in test server: Is this possible - so that everyone can test out bigger ships / mods easily?
2. dual skill training: Is this feature making it to Rev III?
3. what happens to drones = fof - meaning on jam? Previously If I jam a drone ship, then the drones used to act like fof missiles - what happens now - with the assist option?
4. Are you going to implement the ISK for char transfer option in this release? As of now, we gotta pay a 20$ extra - if this can be ISK, training and trading chars would be a more viable option.
5. Are there any improvements coming to the back-end cluster? meaning will you now reassign servers for bigger fights etc. IOW, what are the improvements coming towards fighting the lag enemy?
6. When is the asteroids as exploratory material option coming in?
7. Can you give some love for Caldari in terms of PvP enabling? Make them faster / give them some special high cpu req.<like covert ops> 60km range warp disruptors, may be some more etc. IOW, what is the work that is going in to equalize factions?
8. In a related note, Can you add some bonuses for flying the same race's ship? as of today, a caldari starter char is better of flying amarr ships - could this be changed?
Thanks if you had read till this!

I don't think they will EVER do it. It is still not a great cost for "white" char seller but it decrease alot a number of "grey" char sellers or at least it make live for them and for their buyers much worse.

Caldari are fine as they are. Yes they are not good at solo PVP but they are not bad in PVP at general.
