Hello all,
Lately Ive been busy writing an out of game EveMap. I know there are already a few out there, but they were either no longer being worked on, or they didnt suit my needs. Therefore I started writing my own and well, here is the result .
Current version: 0.3
Features: - Jump planning - Capital cyno planning - Lots of display options and filters - Solarsystem search - A lot more..
Requirements: - Java Runtime Environment 1.5 or higher - An OpenGL Capable videocard
Ive tested it on Windows XP and Ubuntu 8.04, but it should work on any java supported OS.
It probably still has bugs, so please report them. Also, please tell which features you like to see added.
How to run: The following link should should start the application: EveMap Webstart Website: Evemap Website

This is excellent stuff! Very useful to have on a second screen. On such a note, is it possible to have the option of fullscreening to a secondary screen, rather then just the primary monitor?
Failing that, release the source and everyone can play |

This is a real nice peice of work. I sent you an ingame email with a couple of suggestions / ideas for future developments. I've also sent you a small amount of iskies as a thankyou for your time and effort so far. Suggest others do the same as not only will it encourage AcriQuo to keep developing this but it will encourage others to come up with other programmes which are equally as helpful. |

- Jumpdrive planner will now ignore unreachable regions
- Outposts are now loaded from the Eve Api

I'm a layman at computer security at best, so I tend to be paranoid to compensate for my lack of practical knowlege.
How much risk is involved in running this application? It seems like it would be a perfect vehicle for a key-logger or other malicious bit of code. I'm not accusing the creator of this, but I'm simply concerned that he may have been hacked.
Can anyone give me a good idea of the risk here? I run a firewall and anti-virus, as well as anti-spyware, and I do regular system scans with various software. |

somes little improvment : => Name of the solarsystem appear to late, i want to be able to see them
Improvement :
=> Take into account the skill level for fuel conservation & give the quantity of isotope you need of the trip => Allow to see number of belt in a system => Add the posibility to set & use jump bridge network.
you'r application is really nice, hat off. have you plan to release the source ? ____________________________________________ For all you'r Map & Data madness : http://eve.galop-spatial.com |

Edited by: GB Man on 08/05/2008 07:33:33 Interesting program. It seems to act virtually identical to the in-game map such as showing areas where pod kills have recently occurred. On that note, I think that kills and such should be able to be filtered slightly to mirror in-game. Such as podkills within the last 24hours, podkills within the last hour. Yadda yadda.
So the real question is, is this updated? How does it update? and how frequently does it update?

It pulls the data from the Eve API when the program starts, Ill probably make a manual refresh function later. Kills within the last 24 hours is gonna be a bit tricky as that info is not available on the API.

PS, found a bug. The menus don't seem to like full screen mode too much. Both right-clicking and the alt menus frequently have blank slates unless you mouse over each option to make them appear.

You could try downloading the jnlp file and running it with 'javaw /path/to/jnlp/evemap.jnlp' from the commandline.
Anyway, Ive released version 0.4 with the following changes:
- Added sovereignty and constellation sovereignty information
- Added planet, moon and belt count view
- Application will now show the amount of jumps/kills/etc in the hover info
- Added 'Prefer systems with solarsystems' option to route planner
- Removed solarsystem luminosity as it wasnt very useful
Ill try to squeeze in jump route fuel usage for the next version

Also, There is a Flatten/Unflatten button. And it took me a while to notice that the map is actually 3D, you just have to zoom in very close and move the map around with your mouse to notice it. Will there be 3D Rotation options as well? or am I just missing it?

Maybe be able to right click on a system in the route list and select avoid this system and it would plot a course around it if there is an alternate route and if not display a message stating that there is no alternate path to the destination. |

One question I had was would it be possible to have a feature that would calculate all possible routes between different jump points?
are u asking me? :) anyways, no the map is drawn with data ccp provides with their static data dump. All possible routes? Think again about it :) It would be possible, sure, but makes no sense at all. depending on the number of gates in a system, the number of possibilities are immense. You have to restrict route searches by something, like length (ie shortest route, or any routes which are more than maybe 10 jumps but less than 15 or something) or by security (for example avoid all sec lower than 0.5) or even by the number of kills that occured in that system. Or i am wrong and you mean all possible jumps with shiny capitals depending on your skills from a specific start system? that is possible, of course. _________________________________________________

Id definately say its either a graphics card or opengl issue.. Do you have issues with games, in particular opengl ones?

Whoops, that button didnt work, but it is fixed now.
Changelog for version 0.5:
- Improved capital jump pathfinding performance slightly
- Capital jump pathfinding will now take distance in light years into account
- Added jump fuel usage to waypoint tooltips
- Added capital industrial to jump ships
- Added more information to solarsystem tooltips
- Added avoid solarsystem list which the routeplanner will try to avoid
- Fixed the clear route button on the route panel to actually do something :)
- Fixed amount of jumps always being one too high

Good stuff, can't wait to see it rotate.
It would be interesting to be able to get near-realtime API info so you can display pilot info, etc.
Getting CCP to focus on a lightweight client and allow players to contribute tools (like a starmap) that use an improved API was the whole point of this thread.

Yes it would be possible, but it would make no difference because the data on API is cached for at least an hour. And besides that it would strain CCP's servers a lot.
Originally by: Maximilian Storms

Until CCP adds that to the API its impossible yes. Some things the API does offer and I will display at some point (probably):
- Assets
- Market Transactions (Where are they)
- Kill Log (Where did you kill or get killed)
- Industry Jobs
- POSes

Quite possibly, it's a performance issue really. You don't want to hammer the database too often, so you balance the need for fresh data against the caching interval.

Yup, new version has that
Changelog for version 0.6:
- The map can now be rotated in 3D
- Added some pretty map moving animations
- All settings are now saved and restored
- Added mouse hover settings
- Added jumprange sphere
- Pathfinding is now running in a separate thread so the program doesnt freeze while calculating
- Tweaked pathfinding slightly
- Fixed route tab once again
- Removed map flattening
- Various small fixes and improvements

First off I love the fact that stuff is now saved. That said I miss being able to flatten the map as sometimes systems line up on top of each other and it can be hard to find the one you are looking for. I also think that for ease of use it might be better to have it rotate while holding the Ctrl key or something like that. It can get annoying having to go back to the settings tab to click the button every time you want to turn it on or off. Overall it's great and keep up the good work.

Also one other thing I just noticed since I just used it for the first time is if you hide the sidebar you can't get it back without closing the map and opening it again. You might want to add a hot key for this, maybe a button once it is closed to bring it back, or add it to the right click menu when it is closed or even all the time.
Actually theres a key combination that does that, its just not advertised anywhere
Escape toggles the sidebar Alt + Enter toggles fullscreen
About map flattening: I removed it because it looks silly when rotating, in my experience it didnt help much (but maybe it does) and it makes the jump range bubble inaccurate. Ill think about bringing it back, not sure though.

Ok cool just a note Esc and Alt + Enter don't work if the place you have clicked is anywhere in the sidebar. So if you use the menu go into full screen or to hide the sidebar you have to click on the map itself before they will work. Not a huge issue but could cause someone to think the hot keys are not working. I had actually tried Alt + Enter to switch between full screen and windowed mode with no response. Once you said it was there I played around to see why it wasn't working and that is what I found to be the cause.

I just started using this map and I love it! My laptop (radeon 9700) has those same graphical issues, but seems to work ok on my Nvidia card.
Would it be possible to set the center of the 3D rotation to a specific star like the ingame EVE map does? As it is, it seems it just rotates around the center of the universe regardless of what you're looking at which limits the usability of the rotation. This is especially odd when only showing solar systems from 1 region (I love that feature too btw) as you can't even see the thing you're rotating around.
Slightly related, it would be useful if I could actually select a star on the map to set focus to it. The main thing I'm thinking of is I would like to be able to select a star, and have the hover info and jumprange sphere stay up after I move my mouse off of the target.
Also, would it be possible to get a seperate "0.0" mode for coloring stars by security status based on true sec? Maybe yellow for true 0.0 down to red at -1.0.. I don't know what colors would work best, but something like this.
Keep up the good work.

It does look slightly different from 0.6; the "static" in the text seems a little more coarse. I can try to post a screenshot of it later, but it apears to be the same issue in the previously posted screen.

Very nice app. :)
I have an ATI radeon 9600 here, and the 0.7 version produces the same unreadable labels as for Draaken.
I tried out the test version, but the graphical bug remained. (the text seems a bit bolder, but still fubared, totally the same as linked in Draaken's post. it seems like that the text is made up from squeres that got missized and scramled a bit) But (in the test version) those solarsystem color are very nice, also might I suggest that adjust the jump line width a bit? Solarsystem colors should be far more visible than jump lines.
Anyway, very nice app, and I hope that will find some fix for the ATI cards.

This is the only version that really works for me (though, I didn't test out the previous test version). I have an ATI X1900XTX and in the current version (.7) the labels for region/solarsystem names and the mouseover info do not appear at all. When I first checked this out version .7 had the lables for all the regions and system flickering constantly so they were impossible to read. I updated my JRE to the latest version and isntead got no lables whatsoever. This test version however, seems perfect.

Yeah, with 0.6 I introduced 3D rotation and messed a lot with the renderer. The current version works for you though right?

Yes I take feature requests, theres really so much that could or needs improvement so it could take a while though. More advanced solarsystem search sounds good.

Sounds like it didnt download the appropriate JOGL libraries which it should generally. Cant think of a solution right now, but I might release a downloadable version (Although that can be tricky for exactly the same reason with libraries missing and all)
On deinstalling: There should be an entry in 'Control Panel -> Add or remove programs' which you can use to remove it, just like regular programs.

Hello, its been a while, because Ive been busy with other things, but Ive had some time again recently so Ive improved some stuff, see below.
Originally by: Kask Aledrought works like a charm now, thanks! One question though, how often does information like ship kills/podding get updated or is it a real-time process?
Thanks!
It used to pull the info from the api server and then forget about it, from version 0.8 on it should update the kills and jumps info every hour or so.
Anyway, version 0.8 is here with the following changelog:
- Introduced nicer graphics which are disabled by default but can be enabled in the view menu
- Improved rotational behaviour: Map now always rotates around the center of the screen
- The amount filters (jumps, kills, belts, etc) now display amounts by color instead of dot size.
- Made the API data kills and jumps auto refresh when the cachetime expires (should be every hour)
- Other minor improvements
- Bugfix: routetab buttons were wrongly enabled/disabled
- Bugfix: displaybug when displaying no connection lines
I have reintroduced the nicer graphics, but you'll have to enable them manually, so it shouldnt give problems this time (fingers crossed ).

I havent changed anything to the renderer so yes, its still gonna give issues on some ATI cards, which is why Ive left it optional . So far I havent found a clear issue that could cause the problem so until I do youre stuck with the regular version Im affraid.

Actually the values in the jump settings are rounded, so for instance a 0.5 would be everything between 0.45 and 0.55, 0.6 is everything between 0.55 and 0.65 etc.

Yes, there was a slight issue with the loading of API data, it was loading the data for the Black Rise region, but it doesnt have the solarsystems of that region yet (release the EA static export, CCP! ) so that gave an error.
Ive released version 0.9 which fixes the problem:
- New display option: Show 0.0 true security status
- Now highlights solarsystems in jumprange of hovered solarsystem
- Application stops attempting to download API data after 2 failures
- Stopped displaying solarsystems without faction when faction filter is on
- Stopped displaying solarsystems without sovereignty when sovereignty filter is on
- Enlarged solarsystem name in hover info overlay
- Improved rendering performance (again)
- Bugfix: Error when trying to load API data for nonexistant systems (Black Rise..)

Sounds like a bug.. jump lines should be pretty thin and the jumprange sphere is already transparent (here). Any chance you can provide a screenshot? This is how it looks with me: Linkage
And can you try the newest version, Ive deployed a small update which possibly fixes some things.

Only one gripe is that the zoom is a bit tempermental; it zooms out very slowly and keeps zooming right in so I can't see anything and doesn't want to zoom out again. :S can get out of it by searching for a solarsystem then focusing on it but it's still a bit frustrating.

Thanks for a GJ,

Thanks a lot!
Ive not been working a lot on it lately, partly because CCP isnt releasing a new data export and partly because Im busy and stuff.
But fortunately thanks to Vessper and Nightblade theres now an up to date Empyrean Age map data export so here is a small release which features the new region and an occupancy display feature.

EDIT: When I start evemaps first and then EvE, it works fine. It only slows down when I run evemaps when EvE is already running. _____________________________________________________________________

Need feature : . Alternative jump location for Jumpdrive . Total fuel usage (ok calc.exe exist but better to have * done by the tools) . Jump range location (light system to jump as jump planner ;)
Would love : . Profile for jumpdrive (usefull when have more than 1 ship or pilot) . save route

I also have the thick line bug, already mentioned above.
I sometimes have the slowdowns as well, dont really know whats causing it, but it seems to be related to already running 3D apps. As for the thick line bug, I might have a possible fix which Ill try to deploy in a new version soon(tm).
Originally by: Ronny Hendriks really nice app you made here! i would absolutely dig a flatten option though! :)
I actually had a flatten map option in earlier versions but scrapped it , I might bring it back since it seems to be a demanded feature.

These are already in:
You can see the fuel usage by hovering over waypoints in the route tab until a tooltip with the info appears. (I agree the UI part is crap, needs a total revamp if I ever feel like doing it..)
If you tick 'Show jumprange' on the map settings tab and hover on a solarsystem it will highlight the jump range sphere and solarsystems in range.

Where does this pull the data for kills and such from?
Also, would be nice if this would give you waypoints to set so that autopilot in game will get the proper route to avoid systems. - I wish I had something witty to put in a signature. - |

All the data displayed on the map is either static or pulled from the API.
As for your second point, I agree it would be very handy, but I dont see an easy way of implementing it right now.

I know you said you'll be gone for a while, but a few suggestions for future features to add:
- Parse eve Logfiles to plot pilot locations.
- Integrate an agent search into the map, that could find agents and search by distance from pilot.
These are features that were in an old, non-updated, eve map program that i truely miss.

pretty nice app.
i couldnt difrenciate between a jump and a gate when selecting a blackops ship. the route i tested had 5 jumps but i couldnt directly tell wether all 5 jumps were via cyno or via gate.
also is it possible to show alternative systems for capitals as my usual route from system X to system X is different from what was generated.

Great app, however, the Occupancy filter, at least on my machine, uses very similar colors for Caldari and Gallente occupancy. For example, in the screen shot Immuri is Caldari owned while Frarie, Aubenall, and Eugales are all Gallente owned, however there does not appear to be a distinction. Would it be possible to either change the colors used or make it configurable for the user? The issue is the same with Amarr and Minmatar colors, both appear to be the same, which makes the map much less useful in looking for systems to take as a FW pilot.

You can see what type of route it is by checking which option is selected on the Route settings tab.

Hmm.. I wouldnt know what would cause that nor how to solve that to be honest.

Yes, this is a known problem. When the application starts it assigns random colors to all factions/alliances/etc. so it is possible that two entities have a very similar color. To fix this for now I recommend just restarting the application so new colors are assigned.
Regarding all the feature requests: Since I dont seem to be too actively developing at the moment I am reconsidering open sourcing the application so others can expand on it. If you're interested in coding, feel free to reply or send me an evemail.

Yeah, route tab should be rewritten to a table like model so it can display more data. Presently its already viewable in a tooltip, which I agree kind of sucks. Ill try to find some time and energy to rewrite it some time...

Ah, glad to hear you fixed it . Dont see why it would be looking for API codes though.. It only uses EVE API pages that are public viewable..
Anyways, I made a very tiny release that fixes a little bug and adds the new jumps in empire, so hereby I present version 1.10.

Wonderful program.
One rounding error... Jumping from Chardalane to NM-OEA is not possible in a Rorqual with calibration 4. If you try it in Eve, the client says you can only jump 10.0 and the destination is 10.0 away, or something like that. The program highlights the systems as being in jump range.

i mean this in the most heterosexual way possible but i love you man.
ever since the "map upgrade" i've bloody hated having to open that dammed thing, it takes far too long, this is awesome and will be a permanent resident on one of my screens..
one request: Allow an option to set the thickness of the system connection lines (probably the dot size for the systems should scale with this too) Its quite hard to quickly look at the map and see the connections as is. i'm happy to implement this if you don't have time, is the source open?

Well the only way to run it is to click the link, But if you give it permission it should install links in your startmenu which allows you to run it like a regular program.

I would also agree that a slider/option to make the connection lines and system 'orbs' thicker would be very useful. The orbs are a good size in premium mode, but i do prefer standard mode as it's a little cleaner.

Love the tool and all its abilities. there are a couple things I would greatly enjoy if it was possible like when 0.0 security is checked have a sub option for "show only 0.0 connections" or maybe even a "show low security connections as well" so all the extra ones for other types vanish and clean it up. With this type of thing in mind could also have a "show low security systems and connections only" and for us carebears "show secure space and connections only". and as a side note have you ever considered linking into the map the depth of data from "DOTLAN" maps ( http://evemaps.dotlan.net/ ) or highlights for market data from "EVE-Central" market browser ( http://eve-central.com/home/market.html ) or even for the miners the "solar system search" ( http://eve-online.itemdrop.net/eve_db/universe/search ) so people could filter things like systems with low occupancy, low rat kills, types of ore, best places to buy and sell to make the map more personalized for each player and their needs. Of course I have no idea how hard it was to make this in the first place or how much more difficult it would be to try and linkup these data sources into your creation (especially the parts about getting it to not show so many connections and systems and only show connections between so many filters), but it was just idea and I just thought it would make your program the most comlpete and thus most desired program in all of eve.

Thanks very much for this tool. For the first time I'm starting to understand how the Eve Universe is made up. The in game map has nothing on this :)

A second on JB stuff... It'd be great to have a way of planning out networks before deploying them :)

Set route type to jumpdrive, ship type type to mothership, and calibration skill to level 1, and you get 5.0ly jump range :)

Really cool!
How did you export the co-ordinates for the stars? I just got an idea to import them into a 3d program capable of rendering, and making a galaxy-view of the EVE-Galaxy, supposedly all the stars have an "actual color" as well, so you could write a script to import that information as well, it would really be a sight to see. :) "Ruppie ain't no puppie." |

From the static data dump I'd guess. There's a table in there that lists all the systems and their x, y and z co-ordinates.

Hi,
Could you maybe please upgrade the code with some compatibilities for Mac OS X? Of course it runs already but we don't have the colors of the solarsystems by example and it would be very nice if it was compatible ... Thanks anyways for your job forum watcher capital ship production manager |

can anyone tell me how to find or reset the configuration of this progam. I love it and use it all the time but i recently went crazy and ticked the "full graphics" option and now the program starts and immediately closes itself again.
id just like to be able to start the program from scratch with no settings again so that i may once again bask in its glory :)

MS Windows : Delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/JavaSoft/Prefs/eveMap in the registry (or something like that, not sure, not using Windows atm). Linux : Delete $HOME/.java/.userPrefs/eveMap directory.

I have two feature requests: 1) (most important) ability to show a range of systems depending on security level. For example I could choose 1.0-0.9 to find all starter systems, 1.0-0.8 to find all systems where I can mine without rats coming, 0.55-0.45 to find the lowest high sec systems and so on. On the map only the systems with security levels within these limits will show. Might also be useful to filter on other data such as jumps or pod kills for example. 2) (less important) when showing only a single region the map should rotate around the centre of that region instead of the centre of the whole galaxy

Great app WD to the OP :D
Couple of things:
1. ability to filter systems by the number of gates
2. (The biggy, don't know how feasible this would be) A facility which would allow you to mark sytems where wormholes were found and various data about the wormholes such as time found, their identifier (the k162 number), time they were found, and their destination system. This data could then be uploaded to a central web-based database for analysis. These guys have done a stellar job of classifying and mapping the wh to this point but if there were a tool which allowed anyone to upload the wh's they find to a central location the mapping effort would go much faster and we would have a much larger amount of data to base our studies on. With enough data it may be possible to predict and eventually map the probablities of getting a given wh in a given system. Think of it as a kind of seti@home for wormhole exploration. ---------------------------------------------- Mission Runner Writer of Guides All Round Nice Guy |

Wow A+ to you AcriQuo. If CCP hasn't tried scouting you yet, they definitely should. If it isn't already in the program, something I would request is the ability to change the background image/color and text colors. When browsing color stuff on systems it would be so much easier (yes personal opinion)to have a white/whiter/lighter background. You've created something awesome though! I definitely plan on using this.

Edited by: StinkRay on 15/04/2009 12:07:26 Edited by: StinkRay on 15/04/2009 12:02:47 This is an awesome little program that just got better! For exploring/roaming purposes, ombeve or dotlan maps still have the advantage over this one but this looks so much cooler.
I think some customization on the looks is in order. It needs a bit more readability for it to be really useful in tight situations. (I'd like to have this app on my secondary screen instead of a 2d map.) Colors, width of lines, size of fonts etc..
One feature I'd like is to have "show systems in regions", so that a selected few regions would be the only ones shown on the map. Even better would be if region selections could be saved. Do this and you have a big advantage over the in game map!
---
If possibly, make it so that users can move systems around themselves to their own preference and save that as a "layout"? That way, I could selected my regions of operation, and then just move the systems around until I got a nice clean layout.
It's probably not feasible to re-order the nodes with an algorithm, as overlaps would always occur. It's better to let a player move a few systems around for readability.

So far I have found just one problem - the program hangs when I select the "Show solarsystems" from Region option.
Okay, so I found out why it hangs. If you select the "From region" with the drop down menu blank, the program hangs. However, if you select directly from the drop down menu, it works fine. Hope that helps.

Hi,
Great program. But I have messed up settings (I think I used the select maximum resolution (sic) on the pull down menu and it keeps crashing before starting. Your help to reset the settings (out of the program) or re-install is appreciated.

Hi AcriQuo, and thanks for the Jump Program that you've created. I'm running Vista 64-bit and have updated to the newest Java for Vista 64. Now according to Sun's Java website 64-bit Java will work compatible with 32-bit. I 'Run' the program from your webite and the interface pops up for about 3 seconds (everything is there). Then it crashes to desktop. Any suggestions? Here's the error log:

What this really needs is more focus towards jump bridge and cyno gens networks. A new tab where you can enter system names and drag routes onto other systems so you can retain a nice permanent record would be awesome. Also a little annotation feature so you can write in pos locations of jump bridges or system locations of cyno chains and or cyno gens. Very useful for alliances with a large network. obviously you can retain the routes atm but it could do with being a little more user friendly.
Otherwise... Awesome work man

Edited by: Tom Peeping on 16/08/2009 22:36:13 This is a pretty awesome tool, Great work man!
That said, a couple of the features don't work... Maybe it's just me, or maybe they aren't working for everyone? For example system occupancy shows null for every system, including some I know have not been null for > than an hour. Also, the "color systems by" functions are working fairly spotty. Sometimes they are there, and sometimes they arent. (this is true regardless of the ones that show null values like the issue with occupancy, but is also true with one that are not null, such as system sov.) Most of the time, you only see a system if you mouseover the intersection of the connections... and if you don't show the connecting systems it's a right pain to find the point to mouseover. It does show the colors for the second that you select the option, but then vanishes, so there's sort of a workaround by clicking over and over and over to get a strobe light effect of the system colors.
P.S Any chance of adding the rest of the stats? Number of jumps? Pod deaths? Pilots docked, active, etc?
Btw, adding the jump planning is pure win!
Edit: I also have problems running this in fullscreen... horrible flicker and don't really ever see the map. I just run windowed and it works ok.

Here's a heads up for the latest Java 6. You might get an error after updating Java that says the following:
java.net.MalformedURLException: unknown protocol: socket
If you get this go to control panel and go into Java. Then go to the network settings and select direct connection.
By default it will try and use the browser settings which may cause issues with some people, particularly if you have a proxy of some kind.

Lately Ive been busy writing a 3D out of game map for EVE. I know there are already a few out there, but they were either no longer being worked on, or they didnt suit my needs. Therefore I started writing my own and well, here is the result . You can see a screenshot of the program on the site linked to below.
Current version: 1.4
Features: - Jump planning - Capital cyno planning - Lots of display options and filters - Solarsystem search - A lot more..
Requirements: - Java Runtime Environment 1.5 or higher - An OpenGL Capable videocard
Ive tested it on Windows XP and Ubuntu 8.04, but it should work on any java supported OS.
It probably still has bugs, so please report them. Feature requests, notes and appreciations are also welcome.

Edited by: AcriQuo on 14/10/2009 01:29:36 If you need to clear the programs settings manually (thus reverting to the normal graphics mode), you can do so by removing some keys in your register (Im assuming youre running windows, on Linux and other OSes the settings are stored in a file somewhere..). You will need to run regedit and remove the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Software / JavaSoft / Prefs / net / vansante / /E/V/E/Map
Note: Only do this when you know what youre doing.

Is anyone else having problems running this wide-screen? I'm on 1440x900, and for some reason the app seems to flicker between widescreen and 'normal' a few times before locking up... like it's trying to find a good resolution to work with before giving up and just quitting.
From the reviews in this thread and the screenshots, it looks great, so I'd really like to get this working.

I've had some problems with running this and EVE at the same time. If this is minimized, I open EVE, minimize EVE to view this, the map screen is completely blank, and I need to open the task manager to exit it... If someone could tell me how to solve this, that'd be appreciated, as it's a really cool map.

No matter how many times i've uninstalled and reinstalled the app, deleted folders and registry keys, its still shows version 1.42 for me and my route lines still disappear.
Should i understand that its just not version 1.43 on your website?

Hmm, well it was a new version, but I forgot to relabel it as 1.43, so in a sense youre right.. Ive uploaded a new version which has the 1.43 label (should tell you if you have the latest now).
If you still have issues you can uninstall java webstart programs as follow:
- Open your windows control panel
- Search for an entry named 'Java' and open it
- Open the general tab and click the 'View' button under Temporary Internet Files
- Rightclick EVEMap and click delete
- Done!

Hi, Any chance of having a save route button. I know it remembers your current route. But sometimes I want to look at speculative routes and want to clear out the current route.
Another option would be to a 'Start new Route' option on the right click so you could have multiple active routes on routes tab. That would do the trick

Feature request:
Under "Show solarsystems", would it be possible to add an option to hide branches? By "branches", I mean any solar systems that cannot plot two non-overlapping Stargate routes to an arbitrary reference point (like, for example, Jita). For example, ISAZIWA (region The Citadel) would be a branch because any route to Jita must go through ONIKEN (also in The Citadel), so only one non-overlapping route can be plotted.
It would be nice if it could also highlight junctions: that is, solar systems that can plot at least three non-overlapping routes to the same reference point, but I don't understand the Stargate connectivity enough to know if that would be a good idea or a bad idea. I'm having a hard time understanding the connections in Gallente HighSec, for example, and it might turn out to be a large mass of junctions. __________________________________________________ Survivor of Teskanen, fan of John Rourke. |

In version 1.43 when I enable full graphics the colored dots for the systems disappear and then flicker in for a split second every few seconds. I am running an Athlon 2 X2 250 and a an ATI HD 4670. Any ideas?

Checked the show range box, set my fuel lvls....nothing displayed

Feature Request:
Highlight systems with assests from API, hover or click to view
Highlight systems with buy/sell orders, hover or click to view
Show quantities and prices from EVE-Central on the map, specifying number of jumps from your current location

Edited by: Rvlxnx on 21/02/2010 20:47:43 WOW! nice work amazing, i dont have to be in game for planning, etc u know the rest. im sure this has been proposed a million times,.. but just for one more to propose again;: how does the waypoint werk (as i see no lines from "a start point") can it detect where i am currently docked in order for this to happen?(corp mates as well, and where and what ship currently flown?)) (or maybe an option i could just put in manually as a start point). AB belts ,.. really cool, how do i find the ice belts?,.. i mean i suppose i could use this in conjunction with dotlan as i do anyway with ingame map (not really a big deal imho),.. but give me an inch......
Anyway IMHO i still think this is the best map i ever found, Really an Excellent job!!!

With PI coming out, I'd like to request the ability to highlight systems with chosen Planet Types, and perhaps show planets on system mouse point hover with those planets km Radius. Probably best done under a separate menu tab.

A great out of game tool, to add to the list with EveMon, EFT, Wormhole Thingie etc.
I have a problem when switching on Full Graphics. I lose all the star dots and only have the routes marked. I know the star dots are there somewhere, because when I change the "Color solarsystems by" option, the star dots flicker on for a s4ec then disappear again.
I'm using an ATI 4890 graphics card, Windows 7 64bit, AMD Phenom II x4 CPU, if that helps.
