No launcher issue, but some feedback on the (not yet announced but active) CSS change of the launcher:
Is it possible to better hightlight announcemens? In the past, they had a yellow-ish background, which caught the eye. As many payers don't notice that there are news within the launcher, this background probably got the attention of more players than the approx. 13px ANNOUNCEMENT headline next to the publishing date.
Things like server issues, new dev blogs, the week in review and whatnot may get noticed by more players this way.

CCP, there are off buttons for ship explosions, missile effects, turret effects, etc. "Immersion" does not seem to be harmed by those. So, [u]please[/u] give us a persisting-áoff button for the jump gate and autoscan visuals.

Since the July 15 Fail-patch my launcher is broken. The launcher starts, gives me an exception box (huge wall of text) with the options of "OK" or "Start Eve". If i hit Start Eve it launches the old login screen (pre-launcher login) where i can login and play.... but my god its annoying! |

Thanks this helped me today. Im so angry with EVE developers unable to fix god damn launcher. It should be priority since how would you think people play your game if they are unable to get passed launcher without searching clues all over the forums that actually work. |

After I start the launcher, it doesn`t initiate the file check and ungrey the "PLAY" button. This problem already happened before, actually it starts about month or two ago, but restarting the "Launcher" couple of times always helped. Now it`s permanently dead.
I did: 1. Delete "Launcher" folder, download the new one by official link - negative. 2. Clear the cache and use "repair tool" manually (not through launcher) - negative. 3. Trying the trick "back to forward" during two hours - negative. 4. Install and start play "Far Cry 4" instead of "EVE Online" - positive.
Already 2 days i`m trying login to EVE and it becomes frustrating to me.
Wrote the support ticket, we`ll see.... |

Also have this problem. I reinstalled EVE and worked. Then closed Launcher and the problem is there again. Back to forward didn't help. Fix it!!! |

Today nothing works, even multiple back/forward...

Getting sick of this every month.... same problem grey progress bar will not update launcher and the page for the launcher download has the old launcher download on it so not helpful at all...

Game was running fine until a few days ago. The moment I paid for a subscription the launcher stopped working. All it loads is just a blank white window, or it says it can't connect.
I've tried the repair tool according to the instructions: Failed because it can't connect. I've tried reinstalling the entire game. Doesn't work. I've tried turning off and uninstalling anti-virus. Doesn't fix it. I've tried turning off my firewall. Nothing.
This is clearly a problem with a badly programmed launcher. I don't know what you guys broke, CCP, but you need to either go back to an older edition or use a very basic launcher until you figure out what is wrong with it. This is the type of thing that makes people quit playing your game out of frustration.

I'm now almost done with day 2 of LauncherGate, ticket(s) have been entered, couple of back and forth's with a dev culminating in a now sustained 3+ hours of radio silence. Every possible "fix" listed in the forums, reddit, etc have been tried and failed...multiple times. This is absurdity to its extreme, its an f'ing launcher, its not the game, the antiquated code or sov changes, it's the gateway to select which character I want to make dank kills with. How complex is it that almost 2 days have passed and I am still unable to access my 4 SUBSCRIBED (read that as-"I paid you my money now give me my product") accounts. Of course anyone who has experienced a customer service failure will usually identify the "LACK OF COMMUNICATION" as bigger than the actual problem or failure and in this instance its no different.
CCP I have no doubt you are all very smart people and would even say some of you are at the top of your game in your field but collectively you suck at customer service which starts with communication. Probably the best advice I ever received in my career was a simple statement "Who is the customer?" when you answer that statement, that is the person you need to be addressing and quickly. |

try this - set Permissions for resfileindex_md5 and resfileindex_prefetch_md5 to full (same as administrator) for both files . they can be found in the C: programdata /ccp/eve/sharedcache folder

I installed the beta launcher and it is frozen on first run.

I personally havent tried the new beta launcher, but I have been having problems with the launcher crashing when starting to apply the patch. I'm starting to lose money and data over this issue, and now its been 3 days I cant play the game I pay for.
I have already submitted a support ticket, but I guess it means waiting till monday comes.
The crash is always the same, and is not O/S dependent, as I've tried it in both windows and linux. Downloads the update ok, but upon applying patch... crashes.
I invested in a new drive, thinking my old drive was at fault, same error.

Oh yes, I forgot, the repair tool, after it download the 'newest version' it freezes on step 6 of 7, always at the same %, already tried this on 2 game installations (the original, and the one I tried after wiping it all and used the online installer).
I'm on limited data, and I have wasted already a few GB's trying to get the game working and then a patch comes along and the same crash comes to the 'party'. Its not fun.

I play on my main and an alt this morning after the download patch (which was rather fast...didn't have any extended downtime) I switched from my main to an alt and then back to the main. Low and behold cant get past the the character screen for my main but can for my alt. Also noticed that others and myself subscribed in the last few days (Myself 3 days ago)
Sent in a report but not happy about spending money and not being able to partake of the events etc. this game has been around for over ten years and seriously tired of hearing lame excuses on how hard everyone is working to fix this or that.
I enjoy EVE, but seriously am doubting the leadership and direction of the game and where its heading
CCP you seriously need to quit coddling Mittani and The trolls you feed and get the issues worked out cause through time people are going to figure out its just better to go play a different game than to sit here and pay for something that ends up breaking days after a payment is made... I've tested my theory. Took a computer from scratch played , opened trial accounts played them with no issue. Seems every-time I spend real money subscribing to EVE O... Problems.
Seriously why pay ... to what have a toon skill in a virtual atmosphere .... and wait for someone to come along and give me a copy paste response?
One by one we are going to fall away.
And in the end you'll have done what ? Subsidized RMT gambling and be staring at Mittani's real life clone fodder? |
