Titan People also laugh when they see something that they don't know how to react to. In live theater, when someone is depicted as getting raped on stage, most of the audience will laugh and not even realize it. Actors are trained to expect this response because it is so unexpected, You just don't see it coming until the first time the scene is publicly performed. People laugh when they are not sure what to do.
I disagree with you here, I my self (warning RLE being apply) have been to events with the shock value of ****, and the only time I have seen laughter at the sight of **** was when the stage was preset and the out come was in fact very funny, not some random act.
I would also like to know who your main is, and what does he do. |

The person in question wasn't really suicidal. He was attempting to garner sympathy after getting scammed and then blown up.
If the "mad about Mittani" crowd gets their way any time something happens in-game that you don't like you can just cry about being suicidal and get rewarded.

Howver, people might want to try and keep their opinions chilled on the grounds that at the very least the gaming press will be trawling through thease forums to get more copy. Thats not incuding real press, god knows what they will do with this if they get hold of this, we do alremember that the mainstream press love gaming as do american senators looking for ammo right?
Of course then there is Sony, thoses guys who love to see negative press for a games company they are about to give bandwidth to with their AAA shooter.
CCP have just gone through a rough patch, finacialy. I dont know if this will blow up any further, however bearing that in mind it might be worth keeping the opinions polite and not shouty casuse I sure as **** dont want to wake up to find EVE in the daily mail and have to defend it to people when someone who is apparently my mouth peice (I voted for Two step) is spouting this in a public arena.

The way I see it, and I would react the same way as The Mittani did because this "guy" sounds so damn melodramatic that you would think it was from some annoying self-resenting anime character that just can't be taken seriously.
In addition to that, and while some of you happily argue that Mittani should resign because of "cyber-bullying" somebody in the game, I think it is ultimately a moot point because people cry big crocodile tears all the time for having their stuff blown up or being scammed in Eve and has done so since May 2003.
I should also point out that as far as my personal opinion of people who are diagnosed as bi-polar with or without a severe depression -- stay the f u c k a w a y from the internet and get professional help. To hide from personal issues whether it is online or not is not going to help you, not now, not ever. Whining about how sad you are on the internet doesn't earn you my sympathy.

1) Every time somebody mentions mittens on the forums, his ego grows. Is that what you want?
2) I'm sure the saying about "no such thing as bad press" has occurred to mittens. I'm sure he is enjoying this.
3) I don't care about the CSM. I don't care about mittens. I don't care what CCP does about it in the end.
4) Here's the thing... you guys need to decide wtf the CSM is supposed to be... that goes out to CCP and the player base too. If it's the dog and pony show I think it is just forget about it. Who cares what they do. Yah it's bad press for the game but then goons are more about tearing stuff down anyway. Que sera sera, motherf******. If you want the CSM to be serious business, you need to treat it as such. If one is a "stakeholder", they need to be held to account. Harassment, to borrow from the vague parlance of the EULA, is bannable. The metagaming aspect of eve blurrs the lines on this from my perspective, and goons are masterful metagamers, so I don't know what the answer is. Examine the rule of law (we don't have many...), if it was broken maybe give him a 2 week ban and kick him from the CSM. If not stop crying about it and let's move on...
5) If I had to guess from what I understand about the EULA, if somebody told you they were going to off themselves in game and your response was "sweet... post the vid to youtube and give me a mention" that would be within the bounds of the game though arguably immoral. If, however, you got a bunch of people to constantly harass that person, it would be grief play and harassment and then it's up to the GMs but it's bannable.
