I don't think that there will be much left of this 'career'. The media is involved. Right at the moment of this post, it's only MMO-news sites. But as cyber-bullying has been a tragic issue for some time now, the major outlets will likely have articles on it as well. Politicial attention will be gained, and not favorably.
This is all going to happen if nothing further occurs. And we hope that the cyberbully victim does get help, heals and is able to work out a better path of life for himself.

Actually depending upon the state you can get disbarred for behavior... Not in the capacity of doing your job. Like you can't even take the bar exam if you have prior records etc etc.

I would have been fine with an apology if he had offered it either immediately after he sobered up and realized what he had done, or latest when there first was an outrage. After the "deal with it" comment, I am not so sure there is any way I can justify to myself supporting an organization that leaves him in charge. I will consider it, but this is not a case where I want to quit over this - it's just I am not sure I can feel good about myself if I put money into supporting such things, when the apology would obviously not come from his true feelings but be a PR charade supposed to appease cases like me.
I am truly sorry for the 10k voters who were betrayed by him like this - even for those of them who do not feel that he did anything wrong as such. As someone given the trust of so many he should have in the very least realized that there would be an outrage by players not in his voting body, and played it more nicely.
He's been in the CSM for some time now. Like it or not, he is not "just a player" anymore at events like the Fanfest, and will not be able to be that for some time. He should have acted accordingly. His voters should have been able to trust that he does. |
