Q: Are the numerous stargates in the eve universe to be changed in the near future, in regard to how these stargates work/function and how the pilots interact with them? |

Thank you VERY much for doing this! It's exactly the kind of dev-player interfacing we've been missing :-)
Alliance tournament: Are there going to be more of them or not? I'm not refering to the fanfest one for the rich kids (rich enough to travel to Iceland).
Standings recovery: Are there changes planned to standings so you can recover from very bad standings? I know the theory is that you don't get something for nothing (derived negative standings), and that killing someones ships means they don't like you, but in effect what happens is that you put major parts of game content off-limits to players with no possibility of ever getting to use that content (i'm thinking mostly of pirate factions for most empire dwellers, but also cosmos for other races than your chosen one)... It would not have to be easy to recover standings, but it should be possible....
Warp speed of interceptors: Currently, warping consists of warp accelleration, warp flight and warp decelleration. Warp flight is adjusted by a ships max warp speed, but the two others are afaik the same for all ships. This means that even supposedly 'fast warp' ships like interceptors really aren't unless we're talking 40+ AU warps. Are the any chances this will be changed?
EVE 'size': My personal opinion is that EVE has gotten too 'small'. It isn't really a big deal anymore to move a fleet halfway across the galaxy. It could potentially be useful to decrease warp speed for large ships, and maybe reduce jump range for capitals. Any considerations on the 'size' of the EVE universe.
Jump clones: Any you considering changes to jump clones? Personally I would find it logical that using jump clones had a (relatively high) cost that was proportional to the range you're jumping.
Too much money in the game: What is your opinion on this? It seems to me that ISK is not a problem to anyone except the newest players. It should be! A battleships should be a big investment, capitals even more so. That large ships are so 'cheap' means that the smaller ship classes go unused....
EVE a dark and gloomy universe: No it isn't! It's bright and multicolored! This does not only conflict with the 'feel' EVE (imho) should have, but also on many occations make it difficult to see whether your modules are on or off.... Could it perhaps be an idea to get a 'gamma' adjuster for the space background?
Pin the 'pinned' windows: Please make windows that users 'pin' actually BE pinned!
Sovereignty warfare: Shooting inanimate objects like POS and station services are the most boring parts of EVE, but the suggested 'capture the flag' solution is even worse! Wouldn't it be better to determined sovereignty from what people DID in an area? I'm thinking ratting/fighting/mining here, anything where your enemies can interrupt you. Basically, if you move into an enemy area and start activities there, your enemy HAVE to start confronting you or gradually lose sov. This would also remove the 'timed-to-the-second' POS warfare that encourages blobbing and spread the activities over a larger timespan.

Continued.... (sorry for the flood)
Forums: Repeatedly having to log in time after time to post is so utterly annoying. I've at times had to do it 10+ times in a row. Please fix it!
Dynamic LP prices for items: Currently the static LP/money prices for items in the LP store means that the large majority of them are not being used. Wouldn't it be an idea to make the price dynamic? Ie. if an item is popular, raise the LP/ISK price, and if it isn't popular, lower it! This would make this 'market' player-driven too.
Bombs & stealth bombers: Even if you lower the cost of the bombs, it'll still not work. The SB's will not survive an attack on a fleet large enough to warrant their attention (lock time of BS lower than bomb timer), meaning that the bombs will not go off. I've seen this happen several times. Any comments on that?
Amarr recons getting love: I can't remember the last time I've seen one of these in space......
T2 high damage ammo: These ammo types are usually no better than the faction ones, and still has disadvantages. Any chance for a rebalance?
Rolling out new hardware: Any timeline for rolling out new beastly servers? Having 5 to swap around when a system crashes due to too many players is not really viable in the long run.....
Moar tech blogs!!!: Each time you go into the deep technical issues behind EVE, it makes me very happy. More please....
Wealth: How much ISK is in the hands of the average active account? No need to be accurate, just ballpark figure....
0.0 'value': Large parts of 0.0 are in reality worthless (anything below true-sec -0.5). Any plans to do something about that?
Contract system: Any plans for making the contract search (much) more usable? If I'm looking for a specific faction/officer module, why do I have to look at each and every single one by itself?
Same-old missions: Missions are incredibly boring as they never change... Any chance of having them made dynamic so they change every time you get one? I'm thinking mainly fleet composition here....
Mission structures: All mission structures should have a chance to drop SOMETHING! It'd make people spend the time shooting them, and add some excitement to the looting.
Mission loot: Mission loot should be more varied! You can lower the amount, keep the value the same (or lower preferably), but there should always be a chance that you find something surprising. Current loot tables are boring.....
L4 agents in high-sec: Don't move them to low-sec. There needs to be content for non-PvP'ers who're past L3's. However, I support lowering the rewards of high-sec, incl. L3/4's.
Rigs: Any rebalancing of rigs coming? I'm thinking primarily of the ones that have no disadvantages (especially the CCC's)....
Agents in outposts: Currently, non-NPC 0.0 space can't support many players (1-2 ratters and a number of miners per system). Any chance of having agents appear in outposts? Maybe appear as L1/Q-20 and have their level/quality increase as sovereignty does (and leave again if station is conquered).
What... is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?
Thank you again!

Q: Has CCP concidered adding any roleplay-supporting tools that isn't related to upcoming ambulation/walk-in-stations feature?
Perhaps some tools such as; a direct pilot-to-pilot (ship-to-ship) voice-coms hailing option, or being able to eject a distress-beacon with a pilot id associated with it.

Will there ever be deeper Modification options? Rigs are nice, but what if there were ways to modify a Module, say a turret to do more damage at the cost of some sort of resources via a formula, and then the Module would nicely be renamed, "Player's Heavy Neutron Blaster" or whatever it may be. Let's say these formulas cost you X resources, improved whatever with a chance based range, let's say the damage modifier with a possibility to increase from .1 to .5, and then a set increase in PG or CPU to fit the module.
The formulas could work like BPCs, but module specific, ie, these affect Hybrids, these affect Propulsion Modules, etc. ------

If you put in delayed local in 0.0, will there be improved scanning tools for both defensive and offensive purposes?
Is it okay that a single ship that has 200km range and has a covert ops cloak can take 5-6 ships completely out of dealing damage at once? (Falcon)?
If you like the Tempest so much, what do you have to say about the undeniable fact that it has, for example, less range, less damage, less tracking, and less tank than any Amarr battleship?
If choice of damage type outweighs decreased damage output (warning: it doesn't) on autocannon ammos, why does no one use anything besides EMP and Barrage for ACs? Why do missiles get to pick from the 4 damage types without any damage reductions?

Q: I realize that this has been addressed several times, however, the missing 4th bonus on assault frigates (aka, it has a bonus to resists that all other T2 ships have without a bonus) is a big deal. I can recall Weirda and myself complaining about this at least in early 2005. Recognizing the changes that are in store for the next patch (mostly speed increases, also badly needed) are there any plans to look at them again, like interceptors were a ways back?
Q: Marauders/black ops - it's not what you pay, it's what you get in return. Bluntly the return is way to low for their cost. Currently it is arguable if faction ships are better for mission running than T2 BS, and with regards to black ops, several other factors (take the fact that a panther has about the armor HP of a tanked BC) make other ships a better choice normally than something that is going to cost 400-700m, and can easily be destroyed by any kind of concentrated fire in a PvP situation. Is there any particular reason that marauders/black ops do not get the normal T2 resist bonuses that a T2 ship would normally recieve? This change means that one of the big advantages that a T2 ship gets, mainly usually freeing up a slot used for tanking because of the native higher resists, does not exist. The result is something very much like a collectors item that is notable not for how it is feared in battle, but for how few times you actually see it on a battlefield. Are there any plans to address this?
Q: Marauders supposedly are designed for mostly PvE. Is there any thought towards having a ship class totally devoted towards PvE being overly limiting? It would seem better that they be both effective in PvP and PvE, and therefore more valuable overall.
Q: Are there any plans to equalize usage of the 4 most rare moon ores, so that promethium and dyspro aren't used for everything, and that the other 2 are used just as commonly as well?
Q: Are there any plans to address T2 designs so that ships produced by corps such as Roden have any kind of design focus? See here for instance. In addition ships made by vizam for example seem to not match their descriptions (or match descriptions by other corps better). Any plans to address this?
Q: Faction gear - any plans to review it? For instance, no shadow serp dampeners, no dark blood tracking disruptors, faction guns are usually far inferior to T2 guns once skill bonuses are taken into account, etc.
Q: Are there any plans to look at stacking mechanics with regards to non jamming drones? Currently damp, TD, painting, etc drones all stack with each other, so that carrying more than 3 is questionable and just dumb with more than 4. Jamming drones don't stack so this problem doesn't exist. In addition, it means if your ship carries a module that does the same thing as the drones do, it's likely to be useless for the same reason. Would it not be easier to just have them all act as a single module and change the effect they have so that they are not overpowered? This would make them a viable choice in combat.
Q: Any plans to look at the price of outpost upgrades? Currently it is literally easier and cheaper frequently to just build another station than to upgrade the ones you have, which causes "station litter". When a final upgrade costs more than the station itself this seems...incorrect.
Q: Any plans to change gallente outposts so they provide something unique? They came out as "market stations" but however, market was moved to space shortly afterwards/before (can't remember exactly) and they now only give lots of office space. Wouldn't it be better if they provided a specialized market service that would sell items based on standings, so your alliance pals get a huge cut rate price, your allies get a higher one, and neutrals (if you decide to allow them to dock) another one? It would make them unique at least. |

Hello.
1. Currently there are various npc convoys around high sec moving between stations. They used to drop things like harvester drones but now they don't drop anything of much consequence and probably their only use at the moment is in role-playing and very minor salvage (cannot remember if they even drop worthwhile salvage).
Any chance of changing how they are implemented in game?
2. Any chance of seeing low and high sec areas of space changing real sovereignity? Would it be possible for systems to change their sec status in relation to systems adjacent to them being captured. I.e capture a 0.4 system and a 0.5 system next to it turns into a 0.4 system which can now be captured because it is now low sec?
3. Could faction warfare include the attacking of faction stations such as faction navy and faction corp stations while leaving non-aligned stations alone (such as Jove stations etc)?
4. Will npc 0.0 space be changed in the future so that 0.0 stations can be attacked as currently npc stations in 0.0 are superior to outposts in that outposts can be attacked and their services disabled while npc station services can not be. This would make it harder to drive an enemy out of an area because they can use a station and its services with impunity (barring camps).
5. Can we see asteroids moving in the future and causing real damage to ships? Might teach afk miners a lesson if an a chunk of veldspar or ice destroys their hulk :D

Q: Gallente recons - Recognizing that everyone and anyone fitting damps on their ships was a bad idea (just like multispecs was also a bad idea) has any thought been placed to how underpowered damp ships currently are? For example, if you're fighting logistic ships, you have to jam them because unless they're far away from the ships they're supporting (which is uncommon) it's literally impossible to dampen them below about 15-20km lock range (tested it myself on sisi I did, just to see if this was a viable tactic against them). This leaves everyone in falcons because they actually are effective (sometimes curses). Also, any thoughts toward the fact that only jammers are effective at fleet ranges because only caldari ships get range bonuses to them? Even with rigs the other EW types just don't reach far enough to do any good - again, falcon/rook central resulting. If you took a poll on the state of these ships it would be almost universally negative. Are there any plans to look into this?
Q: Fleet Command ships/command bonuses. Currently you get some bonuses to the gang from skills, a huge amount from a implant - and very little from the actual ship itself. This means that the ship is not really needed to do this job, and frequently a BC with command processors just just about as good as a job (myrmidon is pretty good at this). Are there any plans to look at command ships/skills so that the command ship is made more important other than coming with 2 free command processors? In addition, any chance of adding more command modules so that information warfare can help most ships in a gang in some way instead of only EW ships, like all other command ships. Something like the removed lock speed module or more lock range for example (I'm sure people can come up with other good ideas). Taking into account the previous 2 examples clash with gang skills would it perhaps be better to alter the way that these skills conflict with the modules, thus increasing the gang boosting options that a command could have?

Dear CCP Zulupark ... what you are doing here is simply awesome, and is greatly appreciated! Hugs for taking the time and making us all feel better.
As a pilot who is primarily specialized in Gallente and blasterboats (but I fly also Amarr and have a Minmatar full specced char), I was of course very concerned about the speed and stasis webifier changes implemented on Sisi. Now, the recent modification in inertia done to many ships is a welcome change in the right direction: blasterships accelelrate fine, I think there is no reason to complain that they cannot get in range fast enough anymore, well done. Also, the MWD reactivation delay has been removed: excellent! HOWEVER:
The ONLY really good working blastership left out there appears to be the Kronos, as thanks to its webifier strength bonus it gets 90% efficiency, so that it CAN hit cruisers orbiting close when webbed (as it is damn supposed to). Also, it CAN keep targets in blaster range, what really does not work very well at all with any other blastership (including cruiser and BC class).
Any other blaster-BS is helpless vs. Cruiser and smaller ships that orbit at the BS optimal: they are almost impossible to hit even with a dual webifier fitted (tested Megathron max skills with 2 best webbers vs. Thorax).
I strongly believe that ANY small ship SHOULD be scared as hell to get close to a high damage blasterboat, including BS class: it is the only thing they are supposed to do, do insane amount of damage at closest range. If the stasis webifier (a module designed to slow down small, small sig. radius ships to a speed you can actually HIT them) remain as nerfed as now, that role is almost completely negated. As a Megathron pilot yourself, don't you agree?
Therefore, could you please suggest the balancing team to strongly consider one of these 2 options: A) change the tracking formula, to take into account the actual ship size - in other words, a close orbiting ship may have more angular velocity BUT it is also EASIER to hit, because it covers a way larger quadrant. No more 0% hit when hitting something at point-blanc (has been suggested elsewhere) B) give all blaster-boats (those who MUST by design work at extremely close range) a webifier strength bonus similar, but not as effective as the Kronos. Something like 5 to 7.5 per level should do the trick.
Thanks again and Cheers, Xeno

Edited by: Luckyduck on 25/10/2008 22:02:37 Have you guys considered bringing back some AOE based missles to help break up blobs.
The best example of this is a role based t2 BC that would use xl torps with a AOE mod built into a ship based skill. 4-5 launchers, extra long range, horrid tank, omfg you have a bomber class that actually acts like a bomber class. Would be a way for more people to contribute when sieging POS structures too.
highs 5-6 mids 3-4 lows 4-5
Capacitor recharge base 4000seconds, capacitor 4000.
Agility made for 30second warp times from 0 speed.
Since it's xl torps, smaller ships are less effected, and flight times are horrid anyways.
Should be able to max out ranges of 250 due to poor agility and tank, but would need flight time bonus and maybe a explosion velocity bonus to help on BS. |

I would like to ask a few things about the stealthbomber to see if its being looked at, as currently it has some issues.
It seems like the idea behind the ship, one embraced by a lot of pilots who fly it. Is to wield massive firepower at the consequence of any personal safety except for your player skill, wits, and cloak. Great to fly alone or in a gang, however due to its poor defences. If you properly counter it its yours to spit on and it pops neatly.
Now a stealthbomber as a platform currently has several issues wich I`l try to put down below.
-No stealth,it pops up in local. Everyone sees a dedicated cloaking ship before its own screen even loads at a jump in making it hard to surprise anyone.
Local`s double edge as if 20 ships can enter local without being detected it would make bombers into I win fleets however currently they have little surprise left ___________________________________
-Decloaks to fire.
Ofcourse you cant have a ship spamming cruise missiles without decloaking. Now yes it can cloak up again after releasing its payload but there is a delay and if we consider the ship classes t1 and t2 frig/destroyer/cruiser. Their lock time is with ease fast enough to catch it before its timer runs out and it can cloak again. If you do shoot a battleship yeah it`l be to slow to catch you but then again your not hurting it unless your in that 20 man gang.
- cloaking cancels missile damage. The current bomber tactic is based on glitching the system. A player seeks out a frigate or interceptor minding its own buisiness , aproaches it cloaked and decloaks, passive targets it, shoots its missiles, and at the glitch point just before they impact re-cloaks to disapear again and try it again for a second volley. If the main methof of combat for a shiptype is based on glitching I believe there is something that should be looked at.
- Bombs and price Bombs are expensive, naturaly as their supposed to break up blobs of ships and should be put to use in daring alliance ops trying to break a gatecamp or something similar.
However currently its damage output is so low you will waste more isk on bombs then your opponent loses on ships if you manage to catch them.
- bombs and deployment as it stands deploying a set of bombs is for al intent and purposes a suicide act as you are almost guaranteed to lose your ship wich adds to the cost of deploying one. It requires the ship to already head for the fleet to deploy its bomb wich means that it will then need to re-align before warping out. Something it will need to do without the cover of a cloak and with its low agility will cause it to crash and burn.
- bombs and, well. Other bombs
If you are faced with such a massive fleet that the use of bombs is sanctioned you would want to deploy those 20 stealthbombers to pop that fleet at a gate you expect it to pass trough before it reaches your pos for example. The problem there is though that if you manage to time and plan this op out you will drop your bombs as the fleet enters, warp out and watch as the first few bombs go off doing a little bit of damage on the fleet and pop the other bombs in the process. making it impossible to properly "bomb" a fleet.
So, take these issues and add in the large amount of player skill, and skill points required to fly this boat and you see why it is flown rarely as a serious pvp option anymore. Is the stealthbomber going to be looked at in the future and what does ccp think its role should be. We the players have given it a role and place in the universe but what do you guys intend for its role to be and what will you do to let it fill that role properly?

Neutral Spies in FW
One of the annoying things in Factional Warfare is how an Obvious Neutral Alt Spy can sit on the Lowsec Entry Gates and report on Fleet Compositions and movements without consequences. They're invariably in Noob Ships meaning that they would lose nothing of value by being destroyed, however any ship that would take down these spies would be subjected to the full weight of CONCORD losing their own ship in the process as well as taking a decently large Security Status Hit.
There should be a method of flagging such Alts as being a potential Spy with enough unique flags triggering a GM Investigation and, should they agree with the assessment, flag the character as being effectively -10.0 to the Faction that they're spying on.
They may not be the consequences outlined above, however would you agree with the idea that there should be consequences for characters caught spying against the Militias? |

There's a thread about this here, but I'll summarize the points.
1. COSMOS radar exploration sites always repsawn in the same constellation, which means that if you find it, it's easy to control when and if it respawns, and allows you to run it over and over again since you're the only one who knows when it respawned last, so you're the only one who knows to look for it. 2. All the gates are unlocked on COSMOS radar exploration sites meaning there's no need to kill any NPCs except the overseer. 3. The overseer is worth much much more than the Booster manufacturing materials that spawn in these exploration sites, which means that it's not worth getting them, and subsequently that no one has any of the necessary tools to manufacture boosters.

If they're already in and I just haven't seen them, can you list some names and/or itemIDs of such NPCs, and what missions/belts I can find them in?

Edited by: Wrathraker on 25/10/2008 22:43:56 1) When will Concord agent be in the game? There is the skill for interacting with them but no agents.
2) Interbus, been on the back burner for a long time. Any progress update?
3) Drone regions need to have a direct link to empire. This is why they are so empty. Having to travel through all the other 0.0 space is what is making that area hard to impossible for new players to get to.
4) Alliance contracts. You have personal contracting, and corporate, need alliance contracts.
5) When are tech II remote hull reppers going to be put in game?
6) When are we going to get MOTD (message of the day) for both corp and alliance windows. Would be HUGE for everyone involved to have that. All these intel channels that are needed now can be removed for the most part if this was in game.
7) Lower or create a new way to get jump clones. The current rate of having to have a faction or corp standing at 8.0 is unfair to everyone except mission runners. Miners and PvPers will never get that status and have to find other means, if at all, to get jump clones. There needs to be a fix here.

Hi there Zulupark,
[1]
My questions are all to do with balancing, i feel after reading what you have posted i cant seem to understand the logic behind the Tempest.
Now i know the ship was fine, but even with the skills to fly it well many stuggle to use it effectively in pvp due to several indirect buffs/nerfs over the years.
My question is to understand what the reasoning is behind the balance team for thinking why this ship is fine as it is?
[2]
Next question is about eccm (if this has been addressed before, my apologises). I feel again from personal experience that this module even in two's and three's seem to barely do a thing to defending against Jamming. Now i do put this across as a solo battleship pilot so i understand the stacks are heavily agaisnt such a career in eve.
What is the stance from the Balancing team on this and why they felt a 10% -> 20% buff on the Falcon was needed?
[3]
If the opinion of ecm is that it is balanced at the moment in its strength, are there plans to bring the range of ecm modules lower in order to stop pilots causing such a powerful effect from so far away with little in the way to force them from the field of battle?
[4]
If there are no plans for my question in 3, are the plans to increase the range of dampeners?
Thanks. |

With respect to agent mission risk/reward, would it be plausible to have agent quality become a fluid value, with quality changing based on how often the agent is used, and the security status of the system he/she is in? i.e. the less an agent is used the higher the quality, with sec status determining the rate of quality regeneration?
imo this would make sense both from a load viewpoint as it would spread players more evenly through systems, and from an IC point of view - the more an agent gets pestered for work, the less interesting and high paid work he's going to have available.

Are there any balancing plans reguarding skill requirements of tech 2 launchers vs tech 2 guns. At current tech 2 launchers are much easier to achieve, where as tech 2 guns require you to level your wanted class and the level(s) below it. |

What ever happened to planetary flight? I've seen some videos from 2006 and it looked like it could be pretty promising.

I notice that NPC¦s will be boosted in 0.0 and love it. cant wait to see how. We need the flying brick wall that came when npc BS¦s where introduced first :)
Id like to see corp / alliance decals on ships and the possibility for a corp or an alliance to have theyr own color scheme on theyr ships. Currently eve pvp prettymuch looks like kindergarten kids playing football.. (all over the place and dressed like a rainbow). id like to see it look like in the pro division: team colors, logo¦s etc. (i know.. maybe not a big thing but all armies have theyr colors and tags)
was gona ask about time for t3 but that has been answered, thx :)
will current faction BS get boosted? Im a big fan of the machariel but i feel it might get a small boost for versatility.
please bring back events. These seem to have been lost with time and id love to see them come back to the game.
will there be a 64bit client? any eta?
Will there be a dx 10 version of eve? how soon if so? this decade?
Thx very much for answering theese questions and please continue to have this kind of interaction with the players. this is what makes CCP ozome :) "Insert witty comment here" |

Will POS ever be changed so they look more like a "station" structure, not the remnants of one? --------- Your bad loan management perfectly strikes the stock market, wrecking for -777.68 points. Eve job list |

Q. It seems to me that solo PvP has become much less viable over the last 12 months, due especially to such ships as the falcon and the greater amount of pilots on the server. Are there any plans to create anti-blob weapons or tactics?
Q. You stated that there are no plans to change the wardec system at this time. How does this fit in with CCP Greyscale's (ill-advised, IMO) statement that he wants to nerf them or change them?
Q. Several people, including myself, have calculated that the incoming insurance nerf for suicide gankers will make suicide ganking economically unfeasible except for t1 haulers. For example, a freighter will have to carry roughly 8 billion in items for suicide ganking to break even once insurance is nerfed (since you need roughly 40 torp ravens to kill one and 50% of loot is destroyed.
Q. How do you intend to deal with the exploit of someone constantly creating new corporations in order to avoid war-decs? Usually they have 4 that they simply cycle through, since 3 is the max number of outgoing wardecs.
Q. How do you intend to deal with the vast numbers of macro-miners infesting asteroid and ice belts in empire? We can't wardec them because they are in NPC corps.
P.S. You are now my favorite dev. --------
