In the castor patch, the ship category that was hit hardest was the Indies. Every other ship class can still be setup in one way or the other to fit for speed and run a blockade if needed... except for indies... indies don't have the shields to ho...

can you imagine the server lag if you had to transmit the 200+ reactions each pilot in the game does during a dog fight... this has to be sent to the server and then back to all the pilots in that area to keep the client up to date on the position...
