think people. kill the wingman or bounty hunter first ,(its the 1 thats scrambling u)then u can jump if u need to.got a corp mate that does this in a maller w/no trouble.

Originally by: Siroc Interesting detail is that I did this mission at least 5 times in my Rupture and never got Raid Leader spawn. Last wave always was Panter and Lion.
Now I fly Typhoon and first Mordus mission i get gives me Raid Leader at the end. Ether it is interesting coincedence or spawn depends on what class of the ship you are in.
I think it's just a coincedence. I'm flying all my missions in a MOA (i don't have the isk to insure my Raven yet), and also had the Raid leader spawn. He is a lot easier to kill then his bounty would say btw.

I have just started running some missions after a long hiatus. I got the Mordus mission a couple of times. The first few I was in my Rupture. The last wave always had the Leopard and the Lion.
After reading this thread I switched to my Typhoon to see what would happen. Several missions later I get Mordus again. Viola, I get the Raid Leader.
Once, doesn't make a pattern but it is interesting. |

Thought I'd test the Shiva interface in action and ask one my agents for a mission. Here's the briefing he had for me...
Now since I haven't discovered how to configure the Shiva scanner (or a suitable substitute), I was left without reliable intelligence on the bounty hunters' speed and approach - so I warped out only to find that the entire mob was invisible upon my return. Boy is this going to be fun to test...
Incidental observations may follow.

I haven't had the pleasure of come up against this mission yet but if in the missions briefing it tells you that you must kill 17 rats and there is a potential for more to spawn then that would tell me either to contact my corp mates and ask for back-up, refit my ship to be able to withstand a punishing or not take the mission at all. I'm not saying what happened to the people that did loose their BS's to bad so sad because I have a lost a BS and it aint fun, even after insurance it still cost me 50 mill (refit and to purchase new insurance). In a situation like that I sometimes take a figate to check things out and see what i am up against. at least I can MWD faster than any rat can so I can stick around for awhile to see types of ships and potential loadouts. but that is a perfect situation. I feel for the peeps that lost ships but again if I read 17 bogies and potentially more spawning I would really think of what I wanted to do.

Edited by: iRock on 15/10/2004 23:04:29 I'm actually doing this mission right now in my rifter. (not kidding) ... am halfway the second wave killing the last Murdos Puma, which are quite heavy monsters.
And yeah, although I can handle the mission (it just takes ages to complete) I think its abit too hard.
Just hope that one of those fat beasts drop some good loot
[EDIT] 20 mins later: ...
Last wave ... 1x Mordus Leopard (110k?) & 1x Mordus Raid Leader (650k)
Well ... this mission is impossible in a rifter. They just regen way too fast.
Need to get my cruiser ... which is a pathetic stabber and 7 jumps away :( [/EDIT]

errrrmm
are u whusses?
i do these missions all the time on TQ with a domi
sometimes i even turn my guns on to kill the single scrambler/webber
just fit for therm and kinetic hardening (i go armour tank)
maybe fit some guns/cap drainers
13 hvy drone wtfpwns these mordus
on shiva i've dont the l4 version
now that WAS tricky
i had to use my ph00n for that .. has to warp out 3 times (!)
the mordus scorps and ravens are quite hard but still killable
the mordus mammoth took 25 mins of 1400mm and cruise lubbin b4 it died.. it shield boosts BIG time
cant see why u find the l3 hard

My friend Jaketh drank something, then took his Crusader out against a Mordus mission. At one time he pleaded for me to get a battleship or cruiser out to rescue him, but in the end, he managed to survive and beat it with the skin of his teeth.
First and second time I played this mission, I lost six and eight scout and medium drones---small drones generally deal with frigates better with their tracking.
Generally I come in at 60km, and start bombarding the far targets. One Mordus Bounty Hunter will always try to MWD in and scramble you. Sic your drones on him. I use only large guns on this, and I keep the large guns on the farther targets where it is easier to hit them. The drones would do the work against any close range inty scrambling you, while your big guns nail down the cruisers.
The next wave comes, and the drones go after them immediately like a pack of dogs.
Best large guns are megapulse and/or dual heavy pulse. However, I did manage to kill some Mordus, including elite frigs using a tach, megabeam and dual heavy beam at farther ranges.
Once you get the routine done pat, you won't even lose a single hobglobin to this mission.

Its not so hard, I have done it a few times, admitidly I have a Raven, I found if I used my MWD and ran as fast as I could to 80km range, I could take out the Bounty Hunter Scout quick enough, Then the rest was a breeze. One time I got this mission, I took out a named Mordus leader and he gave me an implant as loot.

I can only second this. Am doing these in a raven too atm but also did these in a caracal. I think it¦s a bit challenging and thats the pro, not to get the same boring linear missions every time but get some "surprise waves" as extra on top ;-)

I use a Caracal, like the person above also said they did, and its easy if you keep MWDing to 60km, they just can't hit you.

Range is for the weak. :) I'm using an armor tanking Maller. I warp into the lvl 3 Mordus crowd at 15km, stop the engines and start shooting until they're dead (which doesn't take too long).
By no means Mordus is too hard a mission. Instead, I'd rather see more lvl3 missions like it. Now every lvl3 misisons is just a breeze in a cruiser.

Edited by: Jiix on 17/10/2004 17:19:40 Range is for the artistic =) The mission is quite elegant when you "manage" it rather than just jumping in the middle like a bull in a china shop =)
But I totally agree, we really need more missions like it. After you've done this a few times no other level 3 mission is interesting in a cruiser anymore.

Edited by: Tesk Malloc on 18/10/2004 01:27:11 I did this mission with a thorax the other day. No drones, just blasters and armour tanking. Mind you, it took me about 40 mins with warping out to repair etc.
I've now upgraded my Missionrax with tech II gear (it did have just basic or low level named mods the first time round), so it should take me a little less time next time it rears its ugly head.
