Finally a challenge, risk to go along with reward.
This is how agents missions should be, before this patch no mission was even remotely risky and you might as well have been mining for all the interest you got from them.
But people petitioning cause they lost a ship to a tough mission is lame "imho" and people complaining because of new npc content is also lame "we need more content and more challenges". I did this mission before anybody had posted it on the boards, and yes I lost some armor, no I wasn't prepared for the level of difficulty "did it in a Raven" and yes I could possibly have lost my ship. But if I had lost my ship it would have been my fault, not the GMs, not CCPs but mine for not setting up my ship better just because I "assumed" it would be a walk in the park.
----------- Never argue with an idiot, they will only drag you down to thier level then beat you with their greater experience. |

Edited by: Dr Jekill on 01/09/2004 11:42:28 Super good mission
Ok got the mission from lvl3 Q-8 ussaly this guy gives normal missions no kill missions cause is an archives guy so i said it must be easy
Got to the location before i was even there i am webbed and scrambled i turn around and start going away untill i was able to escape with -40 armor on my Scorp so warped to gate and called 3 of my corp mates 1 thorax 1 megathorn 1 apoc ... they mordu ships gone UP in Smoke
To be ownest i will not accept this mission again not because is hard. For sure is NOT. Hard was the first minutes of the encounters surprise, ie .. webbed and scrambled and lots of missiles lights ..etc.. the problem with this mission is .......
Ok and then we say WOOOOW maybe some good loot,New mission and MORDUS has usally all the latest prototype tecnology .... Well the loot was S,h,i,t like all other missions.
CCP a bit better LOOT please.
And the Agent wanted to give me for bonus 10 small shield boosters.
The good point of this mission is that it trys to get closer the Corp members by asking for help and you doing a mission like a team ...well i need it help AND maybe some of you will find this stupid, but i enjoyed it going with my Corp members on a NPC hunt, cause up to now i could manage this alone with no need to even talk or ask my corpys for help.
This is good job CCP many thanks

Please excuse but I just wanted to make this minor correction and also ask of those who have done this mission to confirm the damage type/weapons that these rats deliver for future reference since there is no listing on either eve-db or eve-i for the "Mordus' rats.
I know. I said "Kinetic/Explosive" because you can not distuingish kinetics/explosives by the glow without comparing them to each other (both yellow). I left space open for people nitpicking about judging damagetype of missiles by their engine trail :)
Anyways, they shoot scourge - as you can expect from CALDARI ships - and I've confirmed this by checking my logs. Thats why I said "prolly scourge" because I was not 100% sure but 99.9%. |

Ive had this mission 3 times now and absolutely love it. Its about time something happened that was remotely difficult. I fly a typhoon and havent lost my shield by more than 50% yet. If you had been out into 0.0 space and thought with a few NCP BS's you know what pain is, particularly when it comes to the joys of being scrambled and webbed at the same time.
I always work alone, always have and always will. No level 2 equipment just a standard level 1 BS with standard equipment but the knowledge on how to use it.

This excellent mission will remain as it is, it will however have a more prominent warning that it is actually hard. Probably in big red letters for those that dont bother to read the mission descriptions
If you feel you have been treated unfairly with insufficient mission description and consider this far to and it cramps your style, feel free to contact customer support. They will investigate the matter and see if your claims is valid
You will see more challenging (read: Hard) missions that are not a walk in the park. They of course give bigger reward instead.
Agent missions aren't supposed to be all predictable and harmless. I think we all agree about that. Even the people that loose the ships thought it was fun, apart from loosing the ship of course.
Oh, and if you think these missions are hard, just wait till you get to lvl 4 _____________________________ I say hey sky, s'other say I won say, I pray to J I get the same ol' same ol. |

Oveur, thanks for your reply *sighs in relief*
Can you tell us about the differences between this mission for a MALLER and for a BATTLESHIP ? Because I compared the ships I and the battleship had to fight - and the spawns were identical. Keeping the comment from the GM's in mind "mission adapts to your ship", does this mean the NPC's actually change their resistance and damage outputs?
Would be a great help to know if I'm combatting the same waves of mordus in my Maller as the guy with a BS on the block - some people are performance freaks you know
Thanks in advance! |

Forget the whiners CCP. This is one time you guys have it exactly right. This mission is exactly what lvl 3 missions should be like. I for one am sick and tired of lvl 3 missions with 10k noob rats. Thanks for a challenge!!!

I agree that this is a wicked mission, and its what level 3 should be about. For those that lost their ship I comiserate your your loss. This mission is not really challenging in an omg, my ship will go po kind of way. The key is, as some have mentioned, preperation. The description gives you the basic ifo you need and should have served as a warning that this would not be easy. So with that in mind you can warpo in, make a bookmark, warp out, warp to desired range of bm and have a jolly old time killing the lil pests. not really a hard mission. The fact that your ships were lost is not, imho, a matter for petition. You were not affected by game mechanics, just poor preperation. Learn from the mistake and take greater care next time

after reading the first posts i think you guys are unbellivable n00b's although counting that when the mission was done i was at 47% hull ... tactics 101 take out the frigs first those guys web scramble then use SB to counter the missiles if you dont have one deploy your drones and let them shoot at the drones first gank them while theyr having fun with your drones and then it gets hard ... moas carcals etc but no more webbing or scrambleing :)

If the mission difficulty depends on the ship you are in, then just accept it in a frig, go to the spawn, then go back before they get you and pick up a bigger ship

All this is good and fine, but do follow up on that "better rewards" claim. 16,000 small lead charges != better rewards

Originally by: Chris Redfield ive just found out from CCP... that the mission toughness depends on wht ship u are using.. if u are using a crusier then the toughness will be adjusted to a cruiser and a BS and so on... so... u havent seen the real mission yet..
That is incorrect. L2 agents dish out a non-cruiser variety it seems, but all L3 agent missions are the same except for a SMALL chance of a harder version with the Mordus Raid Leader (650k) on the end.
See Zrakor's reply on this here : http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=106228
If you lost your battleship to this mission, time to scratch the head as I said earlier - it's perfectly doable in a cruiser TANKING them - albeit a challenge!

It doesnt - a myth introduced by some people to make the loss of their BS bearable
