Shift click the things you want in their own window. What's so bloody hard about that? please correct me if I'm wrong, but you have to ALWAYS start wit the main tree window and shift-click from there to open cargo, drones, etc. This represents a lot of extra clicking and time to do what used to be a single click on the cargo icon.
I'm still waiting for grand insights in how to use this new UI efficiently. So far, it is proving to be very inefficient. |

I had the opposite problem earlier: the inventory window kept reopening every time I docked, undocked, used a system gate or pretty much sneezed. |

And where was this explained in the 'new intuitive UI'? Oh wait, it's not intuitive at all! |

It was possible to stack all windows into one before this UI crap. But no one did this. Now you force all people to live with this crap. Please roll back the UI or make it optional. It is not user friendly.
Especially the Inventory I want into SEVERAL independent windows to be able to drag and drop things around. I hate the idea to use the shift key every time to open a own window.
Please people, before complaining read the patch notes (shift+click opens multiple windows as you said and thats fine for the 1st day after patch)
Dont make the new UI completely bad, because it is not! BUT it needs to be improved - and that is what your posts need to be about... Dont complain, but make helpfull suggestions e.g.: "I would like to have a function to toggle the opening of separate windows without a shift-click"

When you decide to train datacore skills + grinding the standings, you base that decision on the parameters set by CCP. Those parameters are changed, so you should give us a chance to change our mind based on the new conditions. THIS! Welcome to the sandbox, nothing is guaranteed. Should CCP have refunded everyone's tech 1 frigate skills when they redid all their attributes with the patch?
On another note, the ability to rename corp hangers and SMAs is desperately needed. The new inventory window shows them all as the same name. Support for naming the pos mods appears to exist(right click > Set Name) appears but it just gives an "Unable to name this kind of pos mods" error.
So spending a HUGE amount of time training A LOT of skills and farming standings with MANY NPC corps so you can get datacores should not be compensated by reimbursing skill points if you no longer have use for those skillpoints in that area of activity cos CCP decided to change it? When I started training skills for said activity, it was meant by CCP to be that way, it was not a questionable activity or game mechanic. Quick rundown on new stuff:
Good stuff - Missile launchers - Stealth bombers (Nemesis is best, but it really should be more green)
Unfortunately, these things will be horrendously overshadowed by the new and improved inventory UI. I'm honestly not sure who it's meant to benefit. - People who use poses have to try to figure out which hangar is which and hope the things they're moving go in the right tab. There is very little reason to pre-load all the tabs, it takes far too long - Miners with orcas have to fiddle and reset their windows every time the orca warps off to unload - Mission runners have to use the index to loot anything, unless they feel like holding shift down indefinitely, looting wrecks when salvaging is a major headache - Active ship shouldn't be disappearing from hangar
I have limited screen space on my manufacturing character. The windows are far too large and have disrupted my ui setup on my characters because I need to use the tree sometimes unless I feel like breaking my shift key. It's a lot faster to have multiple windows open so I can just drag things from one window to the next, having to look for the place I'm trying to put it is outright annoying and cumbersome.

Just tried out the new inventory system after reading some of the feedback in thread I was prepared for the worst, particularly as I have spent years working with the old system and got kinda used to it
I am a manufacturer and inventor so I have tons of cans with blueprints/materials salvage with probably 2000+ items (not a lot but had a major clear out recently ) but I immediately found sorting through it all and finding what I need far easier than with the old system and used a lot less screen space to do it.
Also found it completely intuitive. Great work CCP how did I survive without this.
The value calculator even if not completely accurate gives me a clear indication of what the contents of any one can is worth which kinda useful.
Haven't tried the pos or capital/orca hangers yet but as far as the station hanger goes the new inventory is the mutts nuts. |

So now that I saw this 'merge ships and items into station services' thing, here are the only two things you have to do since you already have the checkbox...
1) make it possible to drag items and ships out of station services 2) when clicking a container/cargo hold/drone bay, make the old windows pop up instead of the unified one
???
PROFIT!
edit: my bad, that only fixes in-station. |

Ok the new inventory sux. Salvaging is now a nightmare. sorting your things and moving them from location to location is a full time job. And mining is now very nu-enjoyable.
please give us the option to roll back to the old system for those that want it.. and keep the option of the new inventory for those that like it.
____________
Not liking the new seed options for the new mods either. Really you only npc seed one of the new mods blueprints. If you truly want the game items to be all player produced then give us the tools to do it by seeding the other bpo's.

I too am an inventor/small manufacturer and i find the new inventory system to be codswallop. Windows dont remember if they are open or closed, the index window opens with every jump through a gate, moving stuff around a list of corp hangars while at a pos is a complete pain, system is slow to load things etc etc etc.
Can we please have the option of going back to the old system? It was so much more utilitarian when you were used to it.

I'm kind of pissed at the change to datacores. Not so much for the skill investment in the datacore skills, as my toons that collect them are inventors and need those skills anyway. But i'm more pissed about the time it took me to grind standings with toons that until that point had no combat skills and none planned for them. I've wasted a ton of precious time on standings I don't need, plus now have a bunch of useless pve combat skills on those toons that will never be used again. That training time could have gone into more relevant industrial skills instead.
And now, anyone in FW can start cashing in on the datacore train without any skill investment or faction standings grinding required while the people that worked hard to be able to get them in the first place are being penalized. I think that's rather unfair. At least make it so that FW people need the proper skills in order to get datacores. That would at least level the playing field somewhat and make it less of a kick in the nuts to industrialist. I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they have some really great ideas sometimes. |

The wallet doesn't update correctly. Sometimes when you directly sell stuff it goes up and instantly down again. Only after you sold another item (or did something else affecting your wallet) it's showing the correct number again. Minor bug, but slightly annoying and can confuse the hell out of you. (It just happened to me, thought EVE ate 500 mil because the wallet didn't show the correct number) |

Loving the new launchers and the missile effects. The spiralling rocket salvoes are my favourite visually, but I'm also a big fan of the launch "shriek" of the standard missiles.
I'm irritated by the Unified Inventory. It is a barrier to my chosen style of play and I find it laborious and unintuitive.
I have mixed feelings about the Inferno Trailer; it was the usual high-quality, slick affair visually, but given the Faction Warfare theme to Inferno, theres no mention of factions whatsoever. The narration was functional, generic ultra-male video-game waffle that would be just at home overlaid onto a Call of Duty or Halo video. It was technically good, but I'd have like to have seen something less like the bullet-point Crucible trailer and more like the sublime and cinematic Fanfest one.
I feel the failure to leverage EVE Online's colourful faction backstory is a big marketing fumble. Briefly glimpsed footnote aside, does Faction Warfare's notable absence from the marketing reveal a lack of faith in the FW mechanic or an increasing cultural distance from EVE's lore? I honestly don't know why people hate the new inventory so much. I quite like it. Simplifies things down to one window. Sure... it will take some time to relearn it, but for the love of God, spend some time learning how to use it. Don't spend five bloody minutes, conclude you hate it, and then ***** at CCP for screwing it up.
Just try this: Go 24 to 48 hours with the new inventory. If you still hate it then, then come on the forums and yell at CCP to do something about it. Celeste Nightsong

okay I'm tired of this I've just made a fresh character with no like history, let's make this really simple for CCP and the developers,
If you hate the new inventory system and think it should be optional or removed like this post. I will be posting the same thing in the issue thread . let's see how long it takes for this character to get 2000 Likes ... that should make our point painfully clear. If CCP even cares.

Personally I am veeery happy of unified inventory :) Now I can finally control my assets the way I wan't without any problems, everything in one window, very intuitive vertical menu. I hate tons of windows opened, so this is for me :) Very intuitive and helps with organization. I hate mess :) huge + rep for new inventory! Great job.
But option to switch the inventory type would be good, considering that some ppl won't adapt to new one and they want hundreads of windows opened. Although I also can't understand why some ppl hate new inventory, probably they are one of those "I am stuck in xxxx year and won't adapt or go with time" or smth.
Keep the good job CCP, I wish for new players you are gonan get soon :) Switch all those "I hate everything new!" with new ones :) |

Some tasks are not simplified by having one window GÇö they are actually made far harder and far less efficient. This is not a GÇ£relearnGÇ¥ or GÇ£be used toGÇ¥ thing, but something that is objectively much more laborious.
By the way, the old system already supported using one window, so there's actually nothing new going on there. You could fairly closely replicate the new system in the old one; you can't replicate the old system in the new one. That alone tells you that the new system is having functionality issues.

I hate to agree with you on this but indeed the shift-click feels like it was thrown in to compensate for the removal of actual functionality.
Once again we get something half finished from CCP and the dev's responsible for this can no-where to be found.
One thing that would help (a bit) would be if you dragged stuff to the hangar bay it (the hangar bay) would be able to see the difference between stuff and ships. Put stuff in items and ships in the ships folder.
Also that the new inventory cannot see packed ships is Like, what? Lol. Who approved of this?
Just imagine you had this system on your Mac or even PC. You would be foaming at the mouth. You need to be able to work with it. Not fight with it.
