It all works, but I have a list of annoyance factors:
Too much space in the shift-clicked windows is eaten up by the filtering tools and pricing info. Please make those optional.
I really do not want to see pricing info, unless I am actually pricing stuff. And even then, I'll use the market tools we already have to make sure I'm buying/selling for a good price.
And why do we need filtering tools on a shift-clicked window? Sorting by header (as it used to be) is fine if you have pre-filtered and shift-clicked a window open.
Salvaging ops now suXXors. Way slower than before. The window mechanics are very inefficient. I have not found a way open multiple loot windows and have them stack such that I can rapidly hit "loot all" on a stacked array of loot windows.
Also, it is annoying that when you click "loot all" the main inventory window reverts to the cargo hold, which I already have open via shift-clicking, so this is redundant. The code should acknowledge the fact that you have a particular window shift-clicked open, and not auto-pop-up the main inventory window after every operation.
It is also incredibly annoying to have the main inventory window pop open after jumping and docking. Or, if you leave it open and jump, it toggles closed, then on the next jump, it toggles open. Is really this the way you designed it?
The oricing info is way off from regioanl average - I found a difference between cargo window info and market info of 70K on an item that sells for 96K. That's too much error and goes well beyond any misinterpretation of data.
More to follow as I review this stuff.
Bottom line for me: 1) Make the filtering and pricing optional so we get our window real estate back. 2) Fix the inefficient window mechanics as ANY and ALL tasks requiring the inventory are nor far more click intensive. 3) This seems like yet another time when the player base must "get used to it". Certainly you have enough brain power at CCP to design a more efficient system. Use your brains to make things better, because your customers should never have to "get used to it". Failing to do that causes serious annoyance.

I've got an idea. CCP, you will never fit everyone's tastes for UI. Please, make it adjustable. I hate your inventory, someone may like it. I'm sure it will cost you nothing to make us able to set all the stuff in there. For me, the usual interface style is "1000-and-1 window". Unified inventory is unplayable for now. |

First impressions are very important and I on't like the new inventory at all . Don't even know how to drag and drop supplies from my Corp Hangar Array to my ships cargohold any more.
Everyone's see a pvp video where someone drags cap booster charges from a container in their cargohold to the cargohold itself. How are you supposed to do that any more if you can only have 1 invnetory window open at a time?
Would really appreciate a tick box in the escape menu that lets me disable the new inventory system and have the old one back. |

The new inventory system was clearly not designed for players living out of a POS.
Browsing through 50+ pos mods just to find the hangar you're looking for is not what i want to spend brainpower or gametime on.
Usability in that regard is hugely reduced.
One suggestions; allow drag drop of favorite often used hangars or hangar types into a sort of "favorite" area |

Chribba wrote: Also, why remove active ship from your hangar? Where are the old cargo container windows? /c
Biggest Problem - Active ship not in the hangar was a bad idea, makes many quick tasks of old slow and annoying, two clicks now four or more. Who's idea was this?
Also when looking at the inventories I like the new filters you can setup, but the search tool shouldn't say "filter" too, it's a search tool not a filter tool.
Also lots of wasted space at the top and bottom of each inventory window now, it's nice to have the number of items, the cash estimated value, the value and such but the massive blank space next to these tiny details is annoying. It's just a per peeve but It would have been nice to be able to either hide these details or to move them around so they were all on one line. The volume and filter at the top could have been moved up with the list, details and icons option to cut half that wasted space, and the number of items and estimated value could have gone together at the bottom to chop the waste there. It's not a big deal if you only want one window but I like to fill my screen with all kinds of stuff and every bit of space wasted adds up. |

How can I see the content of my ship's cargo and station items + other content from containers or other ship's cargo holds, ALL at the same time? What if I like to keep my items organized in containers?
This Inventory crap does not help. ROLL IT BACK! This. Totally unplayable if you keep any amounts of inventory that you want to shift between containers/hangars/ships/corp hangars. Have you tried right - click and select "open in new window" or the shortcut Shift+Click? Dunno if that's what you mean :) I must say i like it!
I have, however the window does not stay in position. It reverts back. I for one do not wish to set up all my windows every time I re-dock or enter the game. |

Try clearing your windows settings and see if that fixes it. We are investigating why this is happening, it is not intended. Didn't work. Nope. All open windows (cargo, drones, etc.) close except one each session change. And the one that stays open reverts to default showing the (to me) confusing tree list. On top of that it is completely random what stays open, sometimes the dronebay, sometimes the cargohold, etc.
Other complaints about the new way windows behave: - I have to use an extra keypress (shift) to open an extra window. Previous I just had to click. Now I need one hand at the mouse AND one at the keyboard. - Open dronebay option has vanished from the right click menu on my active ship. I now open it via the fitting screen, but that workarround is a bit awkward. And even then I have to hold shift to not overwrite the existing open windows......
And why is my active ship not shown in the Ships tab in the Station Services window?!?

sigh great work on missiles new SB hulls and the general improvement to every thing but you need to put back inventory to what it was before inferno at least until you can find some way to have them both work together (maybe a separate window where you can look at your inventory and see prices and sorting as well as having ease of use for organisation and management like the old version) and please fix the color schemes from making it hard to read as that ifs rather annoying (changed them for now but would like to change back A.S.A.P) Three things about me,

Still doesn't make the fact that there is now only ONE window for EVERYTHING now. Cargohold/Hangar/Ship Hangar/Corp Hangar/Other Ship Cargoholds all in ONE window....

Nothing really exciting in this expansion, it is mostly a tweak of some old stuff, and not introducing much new ... but I'm not surprised, it's been like that almost since Revelations ...

I have never had a reason to complain about EvE until now.
This new Unified Inventory is awful. I have been playing with it in SiSi and could not get used to it. It seems to take forever to move items around never mind open two or three windows at once. They don't appear to stay either once you have Shift+Clicked and then closed them. If you open them again you have to Shift+Click again. I used to have container with different locations depending what I wanted as well they were ordered differently. Some were in Quantity order some were in Type order. If you have a large amount of ships there is a lot of scrolling involved too.
I do not see a need for this type of over clicking when I could get to what i wanted with very little. I like the idea of the search function but that was already in the Assets Icon.
Another thing i have noticed and I know I could learn to live with it but, I used to dump my salvage into my main Items folder and they would remain at the end of my inventory I would go through them and keep gear for sale over 100k ISK and these would be dumped into a container and the rest would be reprocessed. Now if you switch containers on the tree and then return to you items they are rearranged into whatever setting you have such as Type. Now I have to trawl through all my gear to find the salvage again. Not helpful and time consuming.
I would request that this be changed back or you have the option to opt out of this new time consuming and pointless (for me) Item Hanger. I suspect this will never happen but hey one voice started ship spinning and it was returned. Ironically I was never that fussed about ship spinning but I now enjoy having my hanger back and spinning ships.

The new war created when a corporation leaves an alliance keeps the same state was the war was in. So if the war was mutual on the alliance side, then the new war will be mutual also, and vice versa. |
