Originally by: Crest Cutty Worst update ever. 3 meaningful changes (jump bridges, probing, unprobable ship nerf) and the rest is seriously worthless stuff (or stuff that only has a value to CCP as it paves the way for them to get deeper in our pockets).
I would have loved an updated that dealt with ship balance issues (angels ships, assault frigs, super caps, rails, gallente CS's), the technetium problem, lag, 0.0/wh industry, fighter/fb response, t3 frigs, faction battle cruisers...
Instead I pay for glorified barbies online and a slew of minor bug fixes (and don't tell me this crap is free, everything is monetized and passed down to the consumer). Way to be in touch with your player base guys.
Only bright side is hopefully this brings in some noobs from hello-kitty online that I can harvest delicious tears from with when I exploit their limited understanding of eve's complex set of rules. The type of people who will seriously enjoy playing space dress-up are not the same players that enjoy lawless space pirates online. Stop trying to change my game into something that it is not!!!
Agree..... what you posted in those brackets there "(angels ships, assault frigs, super caps, rails, gallente CS's)" really needs to be bumped up the CCP priority list.
However, we shouldn't complain about free updates - particularity ones that open doors to more content in the future.
Hopefully the next patch addresses those well known problems.

Yes, because imaginary s--t in a video game counts as "stuff." Haven't you left yet?

I didn't. Learn to read.

Originally by: Glyken Touchon what concerns me atm is that the first notification of a delay was at 13:10. 8 hours before the deadline. That implies it was either something major, or that there wasn't a margin factored into the original 19:00 deadline.
After the installation there is the testing phase where you see people online but the server not accepting connections. This testing takes a lot if time, and usually they know how much, so they just factor this in the complete DT -----------------

I just hope that when I log on this afternoon, That CCP didn't implement its sadistic sense of humor. By having us train the skills for crawling, ducking, bending, walking, running, jumping, climbing and grasping. I am fully expecting to have to train those skills. Be the kind of man that when your feet hit the floor each morning, the devil says "Oh crap, he's up!"

Unless you like things to stay the same always, in which case I am sure you just love WOW, or even better Sony's "Planetside". These are excellent choices, I admit, but I like what CCP is doing with Eve myself.
I feel the same. In general, the updates made to EVE compared to WOW are greater in scope imo.
Not to mention we are not charged for the updates.
I don't know guys : seems like only some of the changes have gameplay impact, but most are focusing on profits for CCP. Aurum = microtransactions. The 3D Captain's Quarters and organic visuals of WiS changes only catch EvE up to what the rest of the gaming companies were doing 5 years ago. Eye Candy + Tutorial changes = attracting new players = profits. And all this new eye candy is not useable if running multiple clients (from what I have read in this thread). All the changes for the upcoming Dust = focus on profits. Granted, most think the T3 nerf is a good thing for balance, but I think they eliminated the coolest feature of T3's because all other functions can be done by far cheaper ships. Changes to 0.0 with Dominion were essentially reversed and eliminated. 0.0 is still locked down. PI may become "big corps only" if they allow destruction of installations with DUST, as in, no wimpy solo player can afford to defend their installations and well established corps in their 0.0 safe zones will be the only ones doing PI to any meaningful extent (maybe). Six new mission? Not really - no creative PvE - Incursion is a cool idea, but it is still essentially shooter missions with enhanced NPC AI - nothing new or creative.
Enhancing the game? I don't think so. Enhancing profits? <-- this.

It says something about your maturity. It also conflicts with what you said earlier about players with "Experience, Brains, and Ideas"... a maturity of which you do not seem to represent through your phraseology.
your logic is valid. i am an old fool. those who left had far more brains than i have and predicted what direction was eve going.
and that direction will be... growing income. it's about money and nothing else. since avg. IQ of players is dropping sharply nowadays, cccp is trying to adapt itself and not go out of business. hence the idea of changing eve into wow. making this game easier and simpler with every patch. eye-candy effects over content and quality.
till this very day i had to CLICK to do what i wanted... now i will have to WALK to be able to CLICK to DO what i want... if that's evolution in terms of GUI...

Here I am with a brand new computer the very best I could afford to buy, and guess what ?? its got an AMD card in it !! (Asus AMD Radeon HD 6950 DirectCU II 2GB Graphics Card)I had this new computer custom built for me so I could get as much game play out of eve that I could, and what have you lot just done?? screwed around with the damn graphics that's what !! what's the point in folks upgrading there computers, have you lot got something against AMD / ATI?? just 1 question for you lot now WHY??????...I suspect you have your hands in NVIDIA'S pocket as well have you ... NOT HAPPY...
ATI cards suck. they are cheap. next time spend a couple extra dollars and save up for nvidia. you'll get your money's worth.
Ha you said exactly what i was thinking. if you want a graphics card go nvidia, if u want a crappy piece of wanna be hardware go ATI... Simples.
Correction... If you want to be ripped off, go for Nvidia. If you want value for your money: ATI.
I'm not too concerned about CCP favouring Nvidia at the moment. They wouldn't push it too far as ****ing off ATI users too much would be bad for business. If they want to help Nvidia sell more overpriced cards, and if it helps them develop a better product in the long run, fair play to them.

How about a a few days of the "Aura learning agent" teaching you how to grasp, crawl, walk, ....and it is compulsory.

Thanks for the mac link as well, however, seems like i'm in trouble.
Used an old image of EVE #247655, patched it to #267203 and patched once more to INCARNA #271273
Now, that worked just great. Shouldn't be the problem. However, when launching the game client, it doesn't show any EULA that I could accept :/
I've had the same problem on Singularity client before, worked around it by copying some configuration files out of the Local Settings/Application Data/CCP/EVE/c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility/settings/ folder from the old client into the new, that removed the request to accept the EULA. now, I'm a little disappointed that incarna FINAL still had that problem, any known issue to you guys?
using mac pro with mac os 10.6.7, ATI HD4890
Thanks =) V.P.

That is incorrect. Either we pay for these "expansions" with our subscription fees or these projects are funded separately though investment returns or other sources of capital. In short, there is a very good chance that the monthly subscription fees or purchased PLEXes are funding this software development work.
Nothing in business comes for free. Nothing.
Kudos for stating the obvious ! I just cant stop lmfao every time thread trolls say ccp is so kind to give us free patches , it is so apparent all they care about is their wallets ! Take this useless ken and barbie crap they are currently adding to draw in even more newb-tards , FIX THE DAMN LAG , so we can melt face without crashing the server , PLEASE

With all of this whining and complaining about how terrible CCP is and how the game just isn't what it used to be, one would wonder just WTF are all of you doing still here? I for one, really enjoy the game and appreciate all the work that the designers have put into EVE. I'm quite sure that they try to address the major issues all while also attempting to make the game more interesting. So if sooo many of you are in mortal anguish and wish to leave EVE, I will humbly accept the Contracts that you all make to leave me your ships and mods. Thanks in advance......

solution is easy and simple .. just RUN the OLD client once - it presents eula - and the update notice - run the update - and the eula should show properly after patching - else .. run the old client - dont install patch, accept eula, end client, restart , load patch -> ready to go

write a recruitment advert in english like everyone else.
My first language is English. I am simply stating that some corporations may be effected by this. It would be a lie for a Swedish corporation to say their primary language is English when they speak Swedish 24/7 over comms. It's practicality, you could have people joining corporations that say they speak one language but infact they speak another because it's not listed.
