That way when the servers go live at 21:00 all the n00bs will be like 'OMG 1 hour early, we love you CCP' rather than whining.
This is kinda what I was talking about earlier. CCP should just set a static completion time with a large contingecy built in, and just stick with it. It can be 8, 12, 24, 36 hours! Predictability is underrated imo
oh and I'm sure there will be players who complain if the servers come back up early and they were late finding out
Yes, same old problem every patch IIRC!
They could easily save so much ****e posts if they just put;
Deployment of INCARNA PATCH 1.0 is underway today and can take up to 24hrs! If we can get it up much sooner we will. Once again, we would like to thank you for your understanding and hope to see you in the game soon.

Worst update ever. 3 meaningful changes (jump bridges, probing, unprobable ship nerf) and the rest is seriously worthless stuff (or stuff that only has a value to CCP as it paves the way for them to get deeper in our pockets).
I would have loved an updated that dealt with ship balance issues (angels ships, assault frigs, super caps, rails, gallente CS's), the technetium problem, lag, 0.0/wh industry, fighter/fb response, t3 frigs, faction battle cruisers...
Instead I pay for glorified barbies online and a slew of minor bug fixes (and don't tell me this crap is free, everything is monetized and passed down to the consumer). Way to be in touch with your player base guys.
Only bright side is hopefully this brings in some noobs from hello-kitty online that I can harvest delicious tears from with when I exploit their limited understanding of eve's complex set of rules. The type of people who will seriously enjoy playing space dress-up are not the same players that enjoy lawless space pirates online. Stop trying to change my game into something that it is not!!! |

Your first EVE expansion? The time for the cluster to be up gets pushed back numerous times through the day. Given the scope and complexity of this one, there is a reason why the earliest any of my three accounts' skill queues complete is Friday morning.

what to be happy about here, mate? that there will be even more waiting and mouse *clicks* between us and what we wonna actualy do in this game cause of thise oversized/useless eye-candy GUI of theirs? eve is laggy/clicking-exhaustive as it is. they dont need to 'improve' that.

Yes, the one thing that you should remember is that CCP is going to FORCE you to purchase the Barbie Dream House. Part of the download is a .45 that points directly at your temple and forces you to purchase stuff...

It's obvious you do not grasp the big picture of this development. This is the begining of a new realm of the game, where players can use characters as well, and go onto the planets, opening the door to planetary development and combat.

I was looking for such a game a few years ago and I found it - and I am sure that many of those who are whining about this update will not find a better alternative in terms of such a game... I hope they will get a sense of that if they feel bored they should get back to their beloved Donkey Kong Ninento game :) Let the gorilla resume from ashes hehe :)

Originally by: Zi Yu SanWe should be grateful that CCP continues to develop and evolve this game. It is what makes this game continue to be interesting. Unless you like things to stay the same always, in which case I am sure you just love WOW, or even better Sony's "Planetside". These are excellent choices, I admit, but I like what CCP is doing with Eve myself.
>>>I feel the same. In general, the updates made to EVE compared to WOW are greater in scope imo.<<
Its a different model. I dig the sandbox, single shard living. Eve's expansions are free and several times a year, and do just that expand the universe and gameplay options. Most other mmos get greedy and give you content you can blast through and then never touch again. Just look at the last few expansions... further exploration of WH space, ability to interact with planets (with major overhauls to the interface since launch), large scale PvE incursions, now we're manifest instations with one of the most advanced character creation tools i've ever seen.
Well, what can i say. I can keep playing a game that doesn't charge me to advance it.

So we are crippling the jump bridges why? This patch fixes a bunch of nitnoid stuff and adds irrelevancies like the captains quarters. Don't get me wrong I think its great that you are utilizing your resources to polish and improve the game but there is enough wrong with EVE that you all should be focusing on the broken rather than fixing stuff that is working.

I hope they have made some serious changes to the walking round station thing. Just been on the test server and...
1. The viewing angle on your char is all wrong, the view is centered on an area to the right of yourself, until you move, then the camera resets its self. Its not easy or fluid to move about. If it was in FPS you would be dead real quick.
2. When you change the view angle or rotate the camera perspective, its tied to some sort of camera zoom, giving the effect of bieng on a fairground ride. After two minutes of this I wanted to punch the monitor.
3. Why no object select/focus feature, so I can view the ship properly in the hanger??
gtg, people @ door......

There is one major solution for all of this: Make CQ unavoidable, and very costy in terms of machine. Doing so, all the previous mentioned people really leave the game, and the people who bought their computer in this decade, and play MMO -RPG- because they like MMO -RPG- will be able to have a better game.
My PC has around 2.5 years in my use, and still run 4 EVE instances at ease, and I havent upgraded this PC EVER. I agree EVE is boring lately, and it is boring because you cant really feel the excitement of being part of EVE universe because it has many "reality checks" to enable old pcs, button smashers and general whiners play it.
About time EVE as a scifi MMORPG, started to gather SciFi fans and not WoW dropouts counting "arena ratings"(killboards) and bragging knowing it all and not knowing why you cant have a draenei warlock.
A hint: EVE has became boring, among other reasons, preciselly because many of its players started ignoring the EVE universe and started making EVE "pew pew in space".
^^^^^ Best post ever in an EVE forum.
